Status: offline 		So Mistress E and I are doing this fabulous wax scene in Paddles. E is hot in her black vinyl mini and I am not looking bad myself. We start with 6 novenas, working in some sabbats and little scented votives for a bit of a kick, ending with me flipping open my balisong and E using an old fashoined straight razor to scrape the wax off. People pulled up chairs to watch...it was all pretty cool.

Anyway, after the scene, a guy walks up to me and asks "how much it costs." Being rather dense, I explained that the novenas were pretty cheap, $1.59 at the local grocer and the rest I got at the dollar store. We talked for a bit more and then he asked again, a bit more bluntly, "So, how much would it cost per hour." "Oh," I say, "hmmm...errr...welll...I have never really thought about it. I make $50/hour teaching dance, so I suppose $100/hour for both of us would work." He says, "That's reasonable," and we exchange email addresses.

So my question then is, how much is the going rate for a topping session? E and I have tossed the idea around a bit, but I really didn't think it would happen so soon...or so easily.

Any thoughts would be appreciated...

SESSION RATES FOR DOMS, SUBS, SWITCHES

2 Hours $ 320
1 Hour 45 minutes $ 280
1 1/2 Hours $ 240
1 Hour 15 minutes $ 200
1 Hour $ 160
45 minutes $ 130
1/2 Hour $ 100
3 Lady Special $ 380 per hour
2 Lady 1 Hour Special $ 240
2 Lady 1/2 Hour Special $ 160
Fantasy Wrestling $ 130 per 1/2 Hour
Competitive Wrestling $ 200 per 1/2 Hour


Unfortunately, there is no price for a male Dom - I guess we are "priceless". Let me know if you are looking for a partner!

$100 an hour for both of you is very underpriced from what I understand. Here is a local list of going rates for sessions. http://www.passivearts.com/sessions.htm I don't know what the proDomme who don't work out of one of the Dungeons charge, but I'm told it is more.

The prices posted are for performers in pro houses. The "talent" only gets a cut of the action, with a sizable piece going to the house, I'm sure.

I know independents who get about the same range. The sucky part about being independent is that you take all the responsibility, have to get your own space/time/equipment, but you get to keep all the fee.

The two times I was there I have been involved in amazing scenes. Of course, I was leading both scenes, but that didn't make them any less amazing. *smile*

I think wax play, which so rarely is done right, is really quite fun to watch (and do). There is such a performance aspect to it...the flames...the multi-colored wax dripped all over some naked bottom's top...the shine of the blade as it slowly removes the wax... Then you add the obvious energy that flows between E and me and the bottom. It is a great scene...

As far as the next good scene there...I'll let you know the next time I am down there...*wink*

In Feb. 2001, when I closed my private studio, I got 250 an hour, 450 for a two hour session; 350hr for sessions with two tops. After I closed the studio, and while NYC was reducing their prices because of the economic hardships of 9/11, I went to 300 an hour with a two hour minimum but I did so to effectively shut the inquiries down. It didn't stop it entirely, but I rarely take a new client and don't respond to inquiries anymore; after nearly 4 years of doing so it seems to be working.

I'm afraid I can't tell you what going rate is now. There are a lot of factors to consider. Are you using your own space or sharing a space? Do you have to rent space? Is your space a well stocked dungeon and will fetish attire be used? Overhead, you know.

Charge what feels like a reasonable exchange to you.

Status: offline 		I think $100.00 is way too cheap, and does it include the toys?; I'm not a pro, but I would never top for 1hour for $100.00/hour; of course at this point, I'd be wondering what to do next after the 1st 15minutes, lol. M

Sheesh... Obviously I haven't put too much thought into this.

Is it frowned upon to use a place like Paddles to do a scene like this? Should I look into renting a space? Our style really isn't "equipment" based. At most, we will be doing waxings and maybe a bit of light percussion play (E has a things for crops...), but she is so much like me in style that it won't be about heavy pain play or anything like that.

I would love for E to meet you sometime...and I'd love for you to meet E.

The rates being quoted seem lucrative enough. I confess to knowing nothing about the pro scene, but I'd suspect that most of your clients (like the one who approached you) would be men, and you'd probably get lots of requests for E by herself. If it still sounds like your dream job, hey, go for it.

That is what I thought...but the guy came up to me...talked exclusively to me. It was rather odd.

I don't need to make a living from it...my real job as a software engineer really is my first love. Teaching dance and training slaves are just my lucrative hobbies. *laughing*

Status: offline 		that depends on where you live. Ok to take an example from outside BDSM, my mother is a werry good nature terapist. And i am not saying that to brag, her skills are exelent, yet her rates are extremly low, bacouse she live and work in a smal town where it are a limited number of pepole wanting to put mony on their heath in for of nature teraphy. And i think this gos for everything else to.
