I had been under consideration of a Master for all of 8 days. It is over. I am too insecure and impatient. he says he was going to be coming to town in november . he said he would get me iternerary later. I asked for a rough idea of the days. he said I would have to wait. I admitted I would be insecure until I got this info so I knew he was sincere. All hell broke loose. Was it too soon to be asking for contact info? was it so wrong of me to seek veriafiable proof that he was going to do what he said? Am I too insecure and too impatient? He said I should be more honest about what I needed from the beginning as he was not a mind reader, but he has ended it based on this. how would you have handled this?

Because every Dom/Domme is different and unique in their own ways, i'll take my Dom as an example. He willing to listen, willing to lend his opinion (even if i don't agree with him), there to talk, strict but caring, knowing what my hard limits are and won't press them, know's how to work with me to make me a good sub. Being a gentleman when we go out for lunch, and being a Dom inside. He has a great personality and we both enjoy each other's company. Those are also traits that i look for in everyday life when meeting new people. Not neccessarily all of them, but mostly a good personality, someone that i can talk to, a person that i can as well listen and give my opinion.

i can't add to the list of general traits, but can give examples firsthand. Meeting someone you've met online is a risky business, we all know that. When i started communicating with the man who came to be my Master, there were several things He did that let me know He was genuine -- not as a Dom but as a person, since He is my first. Among those things: His insistance on my having a safe call and meeting in public; His patience in answering soooo many questions without ever making me feel stupid for asking; His statement that i would never pay for anything when we met (i'm a struggling single mom) and that it was non-negotiable; He insisted that my kids be my priority. Since becoming my Master, He has continued to show a concern for my well-being in His orders to me, showing His respect for me and what i offer Him. As i have said before, i was very lucky to have found Him as my first because a bad experience would have had me running from the lifestyle in a heartbeat. While it is easy to say that a bad Dom would do this thing or that, a good one is easy to spot by the way they act as well.

~~FR~~ At least if a thread is going to be resurected make it a good one like this...I saw my dear friend from earlier days, Lady Angelika, and it reminded me of how much I miss her and how much sense she made......thinks back to the days of the "4 dommes" on the boards and starts to reminisce*
