I understand your concern, but you need to understand the relative impotence of various tasks:

Securing BAGHDAD is more important than Securing the United States.

Nice Going, George. Man, that 300 Billion pissed away in Iraq could have done a LOT. Like pay the local sheriffs to deliver any undocumented folks to the DHS rather than the local jail.

I'm pretty sure that at $100.00 a head, the local sheriffs will keep DHS busy, and clean up the streets of those illegals who CHOOSE to be assholes, as opposed to the ones who choose to keep their heads down.

pahunkboy:
Your first link says that these two thugs tried to kill a man under color of authority and then tried to cover it up.  After a trial by a jury of their peers they got sent to prison.  They had private atourneys not public defenders...in jail the one seems to have managed to piss off some of his fellow thugs and they beat him up...not an uncommon occurance from what I understand of prisons,  The part about the guys that beat him up wearing steel toed shoes sound fishy...it would seem to me that that sort of foot ware would not be allowed in prison because of security issues for the prison guards.

Now when I went to school and studied civics I was told that the police have the job of investigation and arrest, the courts have the job of ascertaining guilt or innocence and the prisons have the task of punishing the criminal.  These two thugs in police uniforms chose to be arresting officer, judge, jury and executioner...but you seem to think that is ok because the victim was a mexican who AFTER THE FACT was found to be a drug smugler.
So it appears that you are in favor of the cops killing whomever they like.  If this is not your position please correct my misconception.

The second link states from the get go that the guy does not know what he is talking about and deeper in the post it notes that there are no sort of record keeping about that sort of crime.

It would appear to me that these two thugs got just about what they deserved.

What is the purpose of your post?

Misstated fact #1 they did not kill the illegal drug smuggler. He was shott in the buttocks in throough the outter side of the cheek as I recall.

The car the man left behind did in fact contain several hundred pounds of drugs.

They did not try to cover it up the policy on discharged firearms is a verbal report is all that is required.

They got railroaded, by the PC people.

Their side of the report was they pulled over a van they suspected was being driven by an illegal on a back road, the man gets out with a gun and flees pointing it back over his shoulder they fired hitting the man once, but the man was not injured so badly that he couldn't make it back accross the border. (To later be given immunity for testifying against the agents, a frmerly convicted drug smuggler say's NO I DIDN"T HAVE A GUN, I was hauling 700+ lbs of dope and no gun. (Yeah Right)

The purpose of my post- is that we need a fence. We need to secure or border.

In 1986, we granted a once in a lifetime amnesty.

Not only do I support a fence- but land mines along the border would be good too.

USA is for Americans.

America composes of people from every corner of the globe.  Diversity is of value.

Cutting in front of the line- of people that are waiting per the legal process of becloming a citizen, demanding Amnesty-= visa vi protesting in US streets, is "special rights" demanded/afforded to Mexicans.

A Mexican has no more value/and no less value  then an Irishmen, an Indian, a Chinaman etc..

All men are created equal- doesnt mean if you can get away with it- cut to the front of the line.

"Yankee Go Home" ---     so much for "home"

Agreed.

Lou Dobbs on CNN has been following the story--

BTW- more mexican men = more sex for me!!!

Archer:
I mistated no facts...my post starts out by saying they tried to kill.
The link points out that they picked up all the expended brass (15 rounds) that they did not find a firearm.  That they fired their weapons out of policy (you are not allowed to shot at a fleeing individual who to you knowledge had not commited a crime) That they did not report the incident to their watch  commander who was suppose to file the writen report.  My post pointed out that they did not find the drugs till after the shooting.
The divine spring that nourishes your afflatus brings us sure knowledge that these thugs were convicted by a jury of PC sycophants in the city of El Paso....two american cops against a mexican drug smugler.....yeah right,  If they are so clean why did the justice department indite them?
Your description of the incident does not correspond to the link....were you there?  If so why did you not testify in their defense?  It appears that you have not read the link at all but have a knee jerk reaction to my post.  That they failed to notify their watch commander after fireing 15 rounds and wounding a suspect does not seem strange to you?

Perhaps you might want to acquaint yourself with the immigration qoutas for mexico vis-a-vis other nations like Canada, France,Brazil, Japan, South Korea.  There seems to be a wide open door for some nations and a very small door for Mexico.  So your jumping in the front of the line theory is hardly germain since for all intents and purposes there is virtually no legal immigration from Mexico to the U.S,

You honestly think a fence is going to secure the border?  I think Stephen Colbert's idea of motes of flaming magma and iron clad crocodiles has both a better chance and is less fanciful.

WyrdRich -> RE: mad as HELL, illegals- fuming mad here! (2/9/2007 4:37:54 PM)

It seems there is quite a bit more to this story than the prosecution has released to the media.  And whatever prison official allowed/ordered former LE inmates into general population should get to spend a few nights there himself.

caitlyn -> RE: mad as HELL, illegals- fuming mad here! (2/9/2007 4:38:38 PM)

The hard right killed President Bush's guest worker program, which, while not perfect by a long shot, would have started down the path of addressing a very difficult issue.

I'm all for doing what's best for Americans, which is why I'm opposed to a fence mentality. If you built a fence, housing prices in my state would double within a year, and the price of produce would climb at an even higher rate.

I recognize the difficulties these people are causing, but we have to have a solution that doesn't throw out the baby with the bath water.

Edited to add: Have you ever met a border patrol?

puella:
The quite simple solution is to arrest the people who employ them and confiscate their property that was paid for by the labor of these migrant slaves.  When people like Wal Mart and tyson food and Swift and Hormel and the rest of these slavers start going to prison and loosing their multi million dollar factories and homes and boats and such then there will be no more illegal immigration and these people will be forced to pay a living wage to american citizens.

I totally agree with you thompsonx for the immediate problem.  To solve the problem and not the results of the problem..you have to go to Mexico (funny how people are really only angry about mexicans...let's call a spade a spade, folks...).  We need an administration that is willing to talk undergo political discourse with the Mexican government to help them solve the very relay problems that country has.  Until those problems abate, people will be running to the place not so far away that offers what their withering homeland does not... hope.

If you can't do the time then don't do the crime.
To my way of thinking any one in law enforcement that gets convicted of a felony should have an extra 10 years put on it just like they have an enhancement for gun crimes.  These people swore a solemn oath to uphold the law and we give them extraordinary powers to do their job and when they break that trust then they should be shown no mercy.  General population is where they belong they are nothing but common thugs convicted by a jury of their peers....let them live with the people that they have screwed with.  If you or I had done what they did we would be in general population and there would be no group of PC pundits going to congress, the atourney general and the president for us.

Inmates at high risk need to be isolated, lest their sentence be more severe than what was handed down.  It's one of those pesky Constututional things, something about cruel and unusual punishments.

It is all about the money.  We outlawed slavery in this country and to get around that pesky lil bill of rights we bring in slaves from other countries.  Make the minimum wage 15 bux an hour and there will be no jobs for illegal aliens in this country all of them will be filled by americans.  The NAFTA and  its appendages are all about using slave labor from other countries as is outsoucing jobs.  I called to track a package I was suppose to be getting yesterday and the person I was talking to was in India.  The shipping company I was dealing with ships only within the state of California actually it only deals in southern California, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles,San Diego and Imperial counties....why is their call center in India?  Because they are too cheap to hire american labor.  I wound up driving to San Bernardino to pick up the package that they had been paid to deliver....I have informed my vendor never to use that shipper for anything comming to me.
If we treated Mexico like a neighbor instead of our bitch things might be different but that is not going to happen in my lifetime.

That statment makes no sense considering my stated position, given that my position is consistent.

Perhaps you should have awaited my response before issuing your pronouncement?

REALITY IS: In cases like this, if your buddies AREN'T covering for you, they ain't your buddies.

And you gotta wonder WHY these 2 didn't have any buddies at work.

How that affects my credibility is a mystery to me.
