Herb of the Day

French Tarragon
A shrubbish perennial herb with thin woody stems, pointy Dark green leaves with white woolly flowers, use for toothache, snakebite, insomnia and digestive problems.

Best way is to use as tincture and stores for up to 2 years. Ideal for long term treatment.

Thank you Ron, (turns to the viewers)..our reporter from way out there... Later i will be doing my topic of Magic Herbs on Love and Aphrodisiacs so stay tuned, meanwhile any information on olde family herbal remedies whether superstitious or just handed down please add to this thread.

Something today, from a Russian girlfriend of mine, her grandmother used a mix of crused black pepper sprinkled around in a warm wet towel or sheet for those *lady's cramps*
Lay across the areas needing the relief. She also said it is good for sprains or light strains on musles.

trisha
All her remedies have been up to par so far!

I would rather make a steam from yarrow than black pepper for those types of issues

lol..... Perhaps fragrance the air with Lavender to bring out the love? That will definately soften the mood.

Make a warm bath with rose petals and sandalwood oil for
the lady.  That should mellow her disposition considerably.

Has anyone got any rituals they use to invoke happiness, luck, love or positivity?

Also I would like to add when growing or even just using your herbs in matters of healing or indeed ritual magic its imperitive you properly respect natures gift, this may seem superstitious mumbo jumbo to you but there is indeed scientific research to support that plants indeed react to energy and when harshly treated will indeed 'die' as it were. Think of a plant as a sensor and absorber of positive and negative energy, they are hyper sensitive organisms even when seemingly detached. Each plant and herb expresses as disctint and unique quality that we have discovered the values of and know a little of how to harvest, when preparing any remedy or potion try to alter your state of mind to be filled with positivity, sometimes a gentle meditation can put you in a good frame of mind.

Essential Oils

essential oils are highly concentrated and distilled plant oils. Some are very aromatic and both have physiological and psychological properties, many oils will help stimulate the release of certain chemicals in the brain thus having the calming or desired effect. Some are taken at bathtime and some are inhaled or rubbed on the skin. Please always seek the proper method when using these oils.

Hyssop - De-congestant, Antiseptic and Detox
Jamine - Anti-Depressant, good for frigidity & impotence, sedative, good for skin&scalp.
Rosewood - Depression, Anxiety, Nausea, Headaches and good for PMS/Tension

Just a few for you.

I have here a few entries from the Darker side of Herbal Magic, this is for reading purposes only.

Balmony - for Hexing
Betel nut - chewed for spiritual and mental power
Vervain - used in conjuration of Demons and Evil spirits
Vetivert - silences one who speak ill of you

The perception of what is termed EVIL is thoroughly person-specific and not generalised as many believe, remember it dosen't matter what your religious path or belief is, negativity attracts negativity and the same for positivity, creative thought will encourage creation and destruction will destroy be very careful what you do.
