Oh it will go on awhile. Fat threads, sub vs slave and Gor vs BDSM usually end up long and can get nasty. Gee! I am so looking forward to it.

Gee, so am I.

Yep, these type of threads always explode.

You know...after I posted this I thought about something.  For centuries a large woman was considered a beautiful goddess.  She represented the essence of beauty, womanhood, and fertility.  No one thought twice about a woman's plump shape as anything other than beautiful.  Then out of the blue what had been revered for centuries was cast to the side by someone's notion that woman should have a tiny waist and since then we've cinched it, nipped it, tucked it, crunched it and squeezed it to appease whose ideals?  I don't see why women have to be picked on CONSTANTLY about the weight thing.  (guys picking on large women i say to them "a woman can lose weight but you can't increase a small penis.")  I personally like the variety of sizes people come in.  It keeps us from becoming look-alike clones of one another. My two cents.  I'll sit and observe now. LOL

Actually if you read the fat people thread, about 80% of it is

a)  Women saying "Fat people are beautiful!"

b)  Women saying "Stop talking bad about fat people!"

c)  Women saying "Don't let anyone try and put you down for being fat!"

It's actually VERY RARE that someone will start a thread that says "Fat people suck."  Almost always it's someone asking "Why are there so many fat people in the scene?" or "Why do so many doms dislike fat people?"

And then fat people start up with the three aforementioned statements ad nauseam.

I agree with above post by Onyx...

As an aside though seekstofasn8adom, you're a little bit of an attention whore me thinks.  You already had a thread saying some people like a lil meat on their women  (http://www.collarchat.com/m_802457/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm) concurrent with the fat thread, but you still felt compelled to start this one.  WHY???    M

With that?I don't see one personally as everyone has a right to be here.As fat ladies have as much right to use this site just as much or as little as everyonelse does. And to what some people find ugly some people find beautiful.

I'm thin but I know of some gorgeous big women.  On the other end I know of some really ugly skinny chicks.  Thin or fat doesn't make beauty, IMHO.

Y'know, I'm reminded of a saying, "Real women have curves."

My first girlfriend was a stick - seriously. She was 5'7" and weighed about 120. Of course, I later found out that she was a "recovering" anorexic, and the associated bag of issues put me off dating entirely for several months.

Every serious interest I've had since then, and my current submissive, have been big women. I don't have a fetish for them... but I don't see flesh as being all that important. It's just matter, which is going to decay anyway. I don't love my girl because she fits a predefined body type... I love her because she rolls over and snuggles me when I'm getting back into bed at 3 in the morning, or because she makes me laugh when I'm feeling pissed off at the world. The body is just a garment for the person, and I've always found personality to be my biggest turn-on.

As a Seussean we try not to let the superficial, external appearance of a person be the sole basis to determine someone's worth or beauty.....But unfortunately there are ramifications to being overwieght....for instance what would have happened if a big fat sub was the one to "Hop on Pop?"....He might have died!!!!

I have to agree with this.

The OP was in no way being mean spirited, or making fun of overweight girls.

He was merely stating that he feels looks aren't that important. But it's hard to get past the looks department on ANY site like this, BDSM or not.

Weight becomes an issue, in my opinion, in a few select situations. 1) if someone's weight makes them self-conscious to the point that it affects their relationships or play - this is a personal thing, some people have this prob at 110lbs, other 300lbs. 2) there is no attraction. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and if your potential partner isn't attracted to you (for whatever reason, weight, hair color, etc) then you two aren't meant to be together anyhow. 3) weight limits your day to day activities. when weight gets in the way of walking around the mall or going to an amusement park, etc, then that can be a problem. if you are a man who loves playing sports than an out of shape (note, out of shape not necessarily fat) woman isn't for you.

my two cents

Yes.....But if there is too much extra padding then the "Moped Theory" may once again raise it's ugly head.

As beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.I personally am much more attracted to a ladies personality,im only mildly interested in looks. But i guess everyonelse is different to me on this site,as alot of people seem to go for looks first. The only trouble with that is even though that person is handsome or pretty, they might be a really nasty person. That's one thing you have to watch out for to all you guys and girls who are only interested in looks.

Being a curvey woman (dislike Fat... just like I don't call thin people skinny... seems derogatory to me somehow)... I can see what the OP is about... not about fat/skinny ugly/beautiful... but, who are we to judge others based solely on looks rather than personality or compatability?  Beauty is really and truly only in the eye of the beholder.

I personally find beauty in someones soul and personality, I have dated men in my life others would think were ugly, but, to me, in my eyes, were gorgeous.  And I've dated quite handsome men too... including my Master now (well, he's drop-dead sexy gorgeous as far as I'm concerned )

I am what you might call a reverse-snob... lol... see, I always used to think of the "beautiful people" as horrible and would not want much to do with them. However, with that said, I dated someone who was drop-dead-model gorgeous... looked like he walked off GQ. At first, I really wanted to hate him when he started to talk to me, I remember thinking "What does he want? Is this high school again, where the good looking boy plays nice to the 'fat chick' only to hurt her?"  Nope, was genuinely a sweet guy, liked me and who I was and we had a great, short lived, time.

So, to sum it up, I think this is just simply about not judging anyone on looks alone.

The problem is that people continually bring up the issue, they beat the dead horse til the bones are powder.  If we stop putting it in the limelight, the problem would subside.  An abundance of weight might be a health problem for many, but constantly being reminded that one has an abundance of weight does not help diminish the issue.  It just makes those that are not comfortable with that abundance feel bad.  Is that your motive in bringing the issue up yet again?  If not, then let it go.

This is to everyone else it applies to:

If you tell a person that is trying to quit smoking that they shouldn't have started in the first place, they get irritated.  If you tell an alcoholic that is trying to stop drinking that all they have to do is not pick up the bottle, they get irritated.  They are health issues as well but if they don't have a pic of themselves surrounded by a mountain of butts or passed out in a stupor they are not attacked.  LEAVE people with an overabundance alone.  We ALREADY know we have more weight than is potentially healthy.  If it doesn't matter to you embrace us. If it does, don't look at us.

For the record, I am ok with my weight.  It's others that have the issues.

FAST REPLY:

This is SO DAMN Cliche, but it really is what's on the inside.  I'd rather be with a 400+ pound woman that is fun to be with than a bitchy Super-Model.  It works the other way too - a fun Super-Model is better than a 400+ women who is ugly at the core.

I don't care about the size, shape, color, race, religion, etc. - just touch me where it counts; between my ears.

Now, with that said, do I have preferences ... yes, we all do.  But I wouldn't discount someone based solely on their physical aspects.

Also, during sex our hipbones don't get bruised. Score one for the padding!

Seriously - I really can't say anything that hasn't already been said so I'll just tell my little story. I'm a big girl but since the weight crept up on me (I used to be very thin) I've been attracting more men then ever before. And I finally figured out why. As a skinny woman, I didn't have to be self-confident because men weren't interested in me. They were interested in the package. I had a lot of crappy relationships as I tried to work through my issues.

When I started gaining weight my self-esteem got worse, I won't lie. However, I started noticing that the number of men who flirting with me really weren't going down. And that felt good. And, oddly enough, my self-esteem started going up. With that my personality started to show through more and even more people were attracted to that.

It always strikes me as odd but since I've gained the weight I have never been single long unless I wanted to be. There has never been a shortage of potential partners, yet there would be sometimes when I was smaller and the more "ideal" shape. I dunno what it means but take it for what it's worth.

Edited it because it sent too soon

this might be slightly off topic, but i've always wondered, why are overweight, even significantly overweight, women often referred to, and refer to themselves, as curvy?? fat does not equal curves. i know of a great many overweight women who possess not a single curve...zero hips, no discernible waist, butt as flat as a board. in fact, i can think of many more thin or slender women who are curvy. so where did the overweight=curvy thing come from??
