Cages and safety - 2/15/2007 7:17:45 PM

My Mistress wants to cage me when she goes out to the market, or even just when she is in the other room doing her paperwork for her job.

My question is, if I am locked in the cage and she is away, is there a way to leave a key behind to where I can get out in the event of an emergency eg. fire.

We discussed it an came up with the idea of sealing a key in an envelope and leaving it in the cage with me.  This way she could tell if I was out while she was away.

Does anyone here do that with there pet, and if so how do you insure it's safety while away?

I wouldn't leave you in the house alone with your hands tied up.

I have stayed in a cage for my Mistress. One night she had to go out. She unlocked the door in case of a problem. Told me I had run of the house if I needed to eat or use the bathroom, but otherwise stay in my cage and study (I am a grad student). The funny thing is I also was wearing a CB2000 and she left the key on the table in the dungeon. It is a good thing I am obediant.
When I am in the cage she checks on me frequently. Since I sleep in the cage she leaves me a cell phone in case I do need to get out for an emergency. The bathroom is not an emergency, I have a pee jar.

Well, I did read of a Mistress who use to have her slaves that visited locked up in a room in her house and when she was around, but not in the room, she had a baby monitor on so she could hear what was going on if need be.

Concerning the emergency key,...you really should have one near by just in case.

The envelope is a perfect idea, all the safety of a key, no way to get out without her knowing. Some will tie the key on a small string just in reach of the cage, I've even heard of one that encased it in a soft wax. Whatever, the idea is the same, you need to destroy something to get the key, and ideally you can't recreate what you destroyed so there is no disputing that you were out.

I like the envelope idea too.  If there is a pad in the cage, you could put the envelope under the pad, or maybe tape it to the bottom of your food bowl so that it's out of the way and dosn't spoil the ambiance of your cage's decor.

Tell her to give you the key inside a balloon.
Put the key in 1st, blow it up, and if you pop it she'll pop you unless it was an emergency.
That way there's no way you can cheat & you do have the key in your reach in the event the house catches fire or something.
I also think knowing you have the key will make it harder not to be tempted to get out so it will be a double mind F**K.

yeah, I was thinking this same thing.

I think the envelop is a good idea. Provides safey as well as a means to check on obedience.

I have left the house with kitten in the jail cell,it can be dangerous to do whether keys are there or not.So I limit how long I leave for.

I like the envelope idea,I'll have to try that next time.Instead of leaving them hanging up within reach.

As someone has said, it’s dangerous to leave someone locked in a cage whether the keys are there or not (if there is a serious emergency and the slave is panicking, a key can be a hard thing to maneuver in a lock.) I would not feel safe leaving a slave home alone in a cage (or overnight when I'm asleep.) My solution to this would be to "lock" the cage by wrapping some easily breakable tape (like masking tape) around the bars to secure the door in place and then writing my initials on the tape. In an emergency, it can be easily broken and the slave can get out. But I would know if the tape was broken and it wasn’t an emergency.

I think we have some cool ideas here. The reality is that in case something serios happens , they can get out .But whether its the balloon or an envelope, the slave should realize  that he is not to get get out when they want to..that is really what  you don't want them to do.

MistressDolly,
I do this on occasion. If I want to stay overnight this is my only option. During the day if the weather is good, Mistress has me work in her yard. What do I eat out of?? A regular plate like normal people. No dog bowl or any of that stuff.

Dear porthuronsub, Ladies and Gentlemen;

I agree to the envelope sealed with the key inside.  When in earthquake prone areas, or natural disaster prone areas; it must be considered to all who are locked in a cage or such, to have a means to escape.  In addition, after escape from the cage, there needs to be equipment ready and in reach from the cage, such as a flash light, water and a fully charged cell phone, clothing and shoes.  In addition any caged person should have two exits for an escape out of the premise.  I would have keys that have a glow in the dark fob/key chain to locate it in the dark, as to unlock the basement door or whatever floor you're on.

I also must note that not all cages are open bars like a jail cell.  I really do have concerns for those large dog crates/carriers that are extremely closed in.  I wouldn't lock such a cage.  I'd tape it shut and draw a design on it or use sealing wax often found on back of letters and stamped with a stamp (sealing wax stamp) --like a ring I wear.

Most disasters are not earthquake but, fire.  If memory serves me correctly and or if a fire fighter may read this thread, they can affirm the average time for fire to start and turn deadly.  Carbon monoxide would be a nother concern.  It only takes seconds before an entire home to be swallowed in fire.

So, in addition to a key out of the cage, I would have a bag ready with clothes, flashlight, water, cell phone or whatever near the cage.
No time to go hunting for things.  Save your life.

Just some thoughts.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs

Good point LadyHugs about the clothes.  I will have to bring that up to my Mistress.  I am usually naked for most of the day when in her prescence (sp) and therefore my clothes would be nowhere to be found.  Could be interesting explaining to the neighbors and firefighters what my cb3000 and collar are for.  lol
I don't think I would want to be in a cage in an earthquake prone area, or tied to a bed or anything restricting for that matter.  I only have to deal with tornadoes (seldom) and snowstorms here.

Dear porthuronsub, Ladies and Gentlemen;

In having had time to use a stop watch, it was shocking how much time it took for my slaves to escape in case of fire.  We didn't have cell phones back then.  Something which is a blessing for all now days.

Clothes can be sweat pants and shirt, slip on clogs or Crocs, bathrobe--coat if foul weather, pin gloves and scarf, hat to the coat as to grab and run.  I would also like slaves to have their driver's license and keys to all the autos.  I'd have them in a ziplock bag, so he can move cars away from the fire or disaster, to go into and stay warm.

Perhaps a set of clothing can be stored in an automobile for such cases.  The major thing is get out--get out alive.

Just some thoughts.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs
