For your obvious issues, are you repressing thoughts about something that happened to you as a child? Are these repressed feelings now being manifested as a hatred for the same gender that injured you as a child?

i'm not repressing anything, i'm fully awear of what occured to me as a child, thus the reason i hate men. and, NO...i was not sexually abused...just got the shit kicked outta me most of my life.

aaahhh... but, Michael, according to the theory going on around by the OP... if you are with a woman who likes men (she likes you after all), then you like men too [;)]

signed, your local Bostonian, Irish, Catholic, bi-sexual, Muslim, Jewish, Moroccan, Italian, Chilean, Puerto Rican female who happens to love people in general -- lol. [;)] Woohoo... I've got a World Dance Party going on over here [:D]

needdiscipline23 -> RE: honesty about sexual orientation (2/21/2007 8:18:32 AM)

Oh wow.

Michael and dbg have the same problem, here--prejudice on everyone, based on the experiences they've had with one (or a few).  Crazy.  But then, I suppose bigots have been doing it for centuries.

Oh My. I have lived and worked in Egypt, Singapore, Canada, France and Germany. I have had sex with......... oh shit too many to remember but I know there were some muslims, catholics, protestants and if I rememeber correctly a couple of aliens too (well they had to be aliens as they looked amazing when I went to bed with them and then during the night they changed into something altogether different, what else could have caused that?). So now by the OPs theory I must be.............. fucked I guess!

Welcome to the World Dance Party... much better atmosphere over here anyhow... just watch out for the aliens, they tend to drink too much.

Would you like some Russian Vodka? French Wine? Couscous? Baklava? Irish Soda Bread?

Men and women of all sexual persuasions are welcome here too -- gay, straight, bi-sexual, somewhere in the middle (aka like myself) ... It's a beautiful day in the world of the "enlightened" 21st century! [:D]

Narrow-minded people need not apply and can go sit in a dark corner sulking wondering why they haven't left the 19th century.

Would you like some Moroccan mint tea? (Bit early for cocktails for me) it's fabulous!

Wow. That makes sense. You know a Korean girl used to tease me mercilessly and locked me in the girl's room when I was little. Should I hate all girls or all Korean girls?

What we can't let go from the past, ends up controlling our present and our future. A truth that both dbg and michael are portraying quite well.

heartfelt

In order to let go of the past you must be:

self-aware
willing to change

See the problem?

he doesn't want to let go of the past. He seems perfectly happy hating men. It's really sad (I mean, he's a man and he hates men, so he hates himself). But unlike the OP, he doesn't seem to be trying to convince anybody to join his team -- at least not on this thread.

I'm sorry, but you can't be fucked.  After all, sex has nothing to do with BDSM.

more power to you...good thing there's limits allowed, because, if there weren't, i wouldn't stay in the lifestyle. there's serving a Mistress to make Her happy and then there's dignity. i won't degrade myself to the point of diminishing my dignity.

Damn, I had to quote, left it for a day and have another 40 pages.  Again, Michael that is not your kink......however, some are definitely into humialation and dignity diminishment.  Watch it or you will sound judgemental towards them.....believe me, we get you won't be with a guy.....let it go. Others like to be degraded, and who are you to tell them they are wrong?

Now back to measly page 19, yawn to continue watching the train wreck

actually, i think two men should never do it...but that's just me

as for dignity, i do think that i could never respect myself if i allowed it to happen and, if i can't respect myself, how could i respect my Mistress?

Amazing.  I saw a comment about dignity on page 19 but my answer is on page 40 baxzillion.  I'm sure someone else will say this before I get to this comment I have just made at the end of the post,,,,but have to ask about that Freudian slip,if indeed that is what is is.  You talk about 2 men, wtf are your ideas about 2 women?  How is that any different, if you are being all ethical about it?

Disclaimer, I am bisexual, so I am not taking the stance there is anything wrong.  I just want to know if one of his wildest fantasies (as alot of straight men) is to watch 2 women going at it, but somehow it is WRONG for 2 men, just not with women, and that 2 women would actually excite him.  I want to see how he actually can make those 2 views mesh to make sense, if that is at all possible.,

I cannot disagree more with this statement because it assumes that "letting go" of the past involves repressing or eliminating the memories of whatever it was that has now shaped who we are. I have dealt with things that happened to me in the past but that doesn't mean that it has no affect/effect (I never know which is right) on me whatsoever. I cannot change the past, but I can live with and change how the past influences me but I cannot simply remove that chapter from my life.

Some people never come to grips with whatever negative things that shaped them, it is a sad but true reality not a narrow minded, bigoted viewpoint although it can turn into that.

vield -> RE: honesty about sexual orientation (2/21/2007 10:39:27 AM)

So amidst many points of view and interesting notes, I see that some folks are still trying to define what others prefer as incorrect. Not surprisng!

I have not done everything there is with every possible partner in my life, but I have done a good percentage of stuff with a good percentage of diverse others. If I take one of those 100 or 500 question forms like the purity tests, my results honestly show I have experienced 85 to 90 percent of the things mentioned.

This of course does NOT make me infallible, but it has taught me to have an open mind.

Anyone can say BD/SM is all about sex or BD/SM has nothing to do with sex. They may be truthfully speaking of their own point of view. They are not speaking for everyone.

Labeling of people is something which experience has taught me can only be close to accurate if a person is labeling themself. Even then your understanding or my understanding of what that label means may be far different from what the labeled person means.

I do not accept that having a BD/SM and/or sexual interaction with another male makes me gay or bi, or that having the same with a female makes me heterosexual or bi.

I also do not accept that I can be described accurately and understood as a submissive, a slave, a dominant or a switch by anyone who is not a partner of mine.

I use the term switch most often, but in fact all depends upon the mutual charisma of myself and another person. To someone I may be totally dominant and we both feel the mutual power between us always move that way. To another person I may be their completely adoring and worshipping slave at all times. With a certain couple I may be dominant to one and submissive to the other, or dom to both, or sub to both. There are people who I love dearly who will never be more intimate than a caring friend, others who attract me but I do not attract them, others who are attracted to me but to whom I feel no attraction beyond friendship.

In addition I can give a demo or a class to people I have no connection with, but a partnership connection of any kind will always require real connection.

We have a lovely big and varied world, and I feel it is my reponsibility to work at finding fulfillment for my needs and desires, which may change from time to time.

How in the hell did I turn my ex gay when he had a gay lover before I even met him?

Since when does logic play a part in any of this?  Since you ignore the plain truth and instead fabricate your own "reality" to support your illogical arguments, why can't other people?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that you turned him gay because he would rather get fucked by other men than to screw a bitter, closed-minded woman like you.

~stef

Hell, with that kind of logic, if that's the choices on females, she's turning me straight!!!!!!![:D]

Wait, that isn't possible,,,,,hell I already fucked a girlie, I'm branded no matter what...oh hell.

For someone who hates men you sure are a sterotypical male.
