Yeah, I'm with kyra on this one, all I read was the Topic Title and jumped right to the comments. Much more fun that way, but once I'm not pissed about having just reformatted twice, I might come back and actually read the post and perhaps have something constructive to add.

I believe this translates into: "The natural order is man is superior/above/whatever woman". I advise checking out Gor.

I also advise using a spell checker. When one posts in a public forum, the logical assumption is that one wishes one thoughts or question to be read and understand. When we can not understand your post because of faulty grammar or spelling, we can not help or respond to it. So unless you are wasting bandwidth and only posting for yourself, with no intent or concern about others being able to read it, use the damn spell checker. I don't do it all the time, but I do it most of the time. And I always do it when I'm posting a starter thread.

my biggest issue wasn't even necessarily the gender one (although that does irk me) but the idea that master/slave is the highest of relationships. i AM a slave in a tpe, and i still think that's fairly indicative of a superiority complex at best, and incredibly disrespectful of all other bdsm relationships at worst.

My "natural order" is anyone can be dominant or submissive, gender has nothing to do with it but personality traits does. I am a naturally dominant female and I have a submissive male. We are both very happy this way and wouldn't change for anyone.

Eh... I don't care so much about the gender thing. There are tons of male subs who think women are superior and I don't agree with them either. I just get very irked by the whole "master/slave" is the best thing. From what I've read I could be a slave to the correct man. After all, hopefully none of us would submit to the wrong man. But that isn't the relationship my dominant wants. He wants a playful little kitten, and that's something I'm very happy to give him.

Edited to Add: And for that matter, when did BDSM become a competition with a "best" and "worst"?

Hmm...

He's enthusiastic. Nothing wrong with that. Based on what I've seen of his profile, at least from the photos he's posted, I have an idea that he's socially successful, possibly financially, in good shape, definitely type A in personality. I'd also go as far to say he's not afraid to put it out there and accept a few good hits too.

I wouldn't be so quick to judge him either, based on his grammar and spelling. It would be bad form.

He's also excited about the lifestyle and shows that he's ready to jump in there and make his share of mistakes. What he does about his mistakes, only time will tell. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he'll do what he must. Granted, it appears that he didn't put his best foot forward in YOUR mind, but like anything else, you can't learn to walk until you actually take that first step. No risk? No gain.

As far as the Gor comment is concerned?

Please.. most of the Goreans I've met don't know what Gorean is. So, let's not even go there.

The OP has a fledgling concept, try to be a little generous and offer comments to help him develop it, rather than dousing it in kerosene and setting fire to it. It would be more constructive.

I think the competition begins when people like yourself - jump in the ring and begin to make it one. Only you're boxing your own shadow. The people who consider themselves slaves, for the most part, don't give much credence to posts like these -as is obvious by the responses here. I simply don't need my relationship or the way i view myself in my relationship validated, justified or measured in comparison to someone elses. I'm curious as to why you do.
