I'm 5ft3 and have never been asked out by a man shorter than me.  I generally prefer tall men but have dated a man who was only 5ft6 on one occasion. I think I feel naturally more submissive around taller men (6ft +) and also around heavier men (big broad shoulders are a big turn on).

I am considered tall or modertely tall for a woman.  I am 5'8"
I have noticed a few women who are 6 ft while browsing profiles.
I have also seen 5 ft or under.

For myself, absolutly. Since I am tall myself, I perfer those who are taller than I am.

I peaked at nissa's profile and it said she was 5'7 and 115 lbs. Although "tall" is a relative term I suspect nissa might think she is too heavy as well...LOL!  I am 5' 9" and I DON'T consider myself tall, and never have bought an item of tall clothing in my life...just off the rack in regular sizes. However since the average woman's height is 5'4" and 14W I would by comparision be "tallER" and thinnER (size 11/12) than average which is in life an advantage such as to reach higher shelving and such.  As for the guy/Master thing I do prefer someone my height or tallER (6' and up is a plus) but a few inches shorter will not rule someone out automatically unless they were rail thin.  However, a broarder strong man even if 5'8" would help compensate for a minor height concern (but bragging about his "other" size would not!). BTW, I consider woman who are 6' and up to be definitely tall, but a minimal of 5'10 would be about the lowest on my scale, based on pure height considerations such as for clothing and modeling.

I prefer same height or taller men because I would like to be able to wear at least moderate heels (2-3") and even a 3" on puts me at 6' (so then I do look "tall") and don't want to be looking down on him too far....but then If I were a Domme instead of a slave then that would be anther scenario altogether.....but not!

Note that a lot of this type of preference is a soft limit, and it depends on both the Dom in his total appeal and the availability of those interested in myself that would fit ALL of my preferences, especially the more important ones.

At 5'9", I do prefer men taller than me - in or outside of being dominant.  That being said, my ex is an inch shorter than I am and we were together off and on for 13 years.

It doesn't completely exclude someone, but someone 6'2" or taller defintely gets a bonus look from me.

Actually I don't ever consider short men. Probably because the men in my family are short and do tend to overcompensate. And as I don't like loud aggression, preferring a quiet confident man instead, I stay away from men who are short.

As it happens I'm 5'4" so I can't imagine meeting a man shorter than me but I still prefer them above 5'10". And yes, a man taller and stronger than me is a great turn on. I like big men with big muscles. Sometimes we're sitting together and I find I'm squeezing his biceps without even realizing it. The fact that I can't get my hand even half way around is very erotic.

I like physical and mental domination. Basically I'm greedy, I want it all.

crissyslave brought up  height, and weight and clothing sizes.

My sister and I had a fundraiser for our Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and because it was directed toward ladies, we had a fasion consultant from Don Caster come in and do some "modeling" for us.  Before the activities she was looking at the glasses my sister had displayed.  She was a tad bit more in height than I but had 3 inch spiked heels on.

She did a grand job of exhibiting her clothes, explaining fashions and why or how we must choose clothes....I think all the ladies know what I am talking about.
She has eroticly soft yet essentially square shoulders for which shoulder pads were NOT needed.  She was slim with a very cute hair do that bobbed and framed her face very well.  She was attractive.

All of us ladies were sitting and if I had not stood next to her, I would have never known that if she took off her heels, she would have been about 5'6'.
She said depending on the maker of clothing she could wear between a size 3 to 12.  She has peices that were women's sizes and went on the tell us many women aught to wear women's sizes because  of the cut instead of a 12 or 14.  She explained the difference between juniors, misses and womens sizes.
My sisters freinds kept saying how tall she looked while in her modeling.  It was her clothing, the length of her dress, about 4 inches above her knees, and her heel which were long..a very fashioned women.
I think they would have pee'd there pants if she took off her short skirt, heels and stood next to them.   LOL
She did look extremely tall while modeling.

She also explained the sizes of tall and average.
I have always worn tall jeans and I listened up.  It depends on the length between our navel and crotch.  Mine is long, thus I take tall trousers.
With the newer cuts in trousers at the waist, anything goes, she said.
My inseam has always been rather long.  My brother is 6'5" and wears an inseam of 38 and I find an inseam of 36 just way too short at times.  Just body shape.

I have noticed a women being 6 ft and very heavy everywhere totally huge, but at 6' and say 175 just about right.
A women weighing 150 at 5ft and at 6 ft is gonna look VERY different.

So perspective is important.  A man at 5'10" and 6ft both weighting 190 is also gonna look very different.
I could have included men with weight on their bones in this discussion, but choose not to.  i just wanted height.

My question is, do any of you women find it hard to consider a dominant who is way taller than you or the same height or shorter than you?

Does the height of a dominant play into part of your psyche?

I am  6 ft without heels and 6'3-6'4 in heels and i wear them every day!!  I am very  comfortable with my height and who i am.  I do have a height requirement of at least  5'6 beyond that I do not care, there are more important things to me than someones height.
I know my height can intimidate men and I  have been asked on occasion from some men to NOT wear heels. Those men never  hear from me again.  The  first words in my profile indicate that they MUST be comfortable with my height.  From there its all good, I keep an open mind, chemistry, compatability, commonality, personality  are what I look for, height and looks are way  down on that list.  If everything else fits thier height is a none isssue, as when you are on your knees or laying down it does not matter.

I know this is off topic but I find clothing sizes fascinatingly frustrating. I am 5f3 and hover around 200lbs. I can wear everything from a size 10 to a size 18 depending on the clothing cut and such! It makes shopping online almost impossible.

I'm 5'5", and I find myself most attracted to the 6 ft and above type of guy.  (I like 'em tall, dark and...dorky )  I like being able to wear heels and still be shorter than him.  and I like 'em a little bit on the meaty side, the super-athletic or skinny types don't do it for me.

Its funny how clothing sizes vary so much why cant it be universal.  I weigh 135 lbs and have a 36 in inseam and long arms so finding pants, jackets etc are so difficult to find. Shopping online is rarely an option; as you said each manufacturer has thier own sizing, even more so today with "vanity sizing" , they really should make it easier since we spend soooooo  much money on  clothes.

it wouldn't matter what Daddy's height was to me (stuff like this has no baring in our relationship) ...this is almost like asking bi-racial D/s couples does skin color matter in your relationship.

don't take that statement the wrong way - merely saying it seems rather bias that someone would be worried about another person's height and not choose them as a Dom or sub because of something so trivial.

To an extent no, if he was like only 2 feet tall or 3 feet, like I saw at the mall once yeah I would probably not be compatible with him. same with if he had a case of giantisim, here he was like 8 feet 9 feet or 10 feet.

my height or with in normal 6 foot ish no.

I once married a short man.  At the time he seemed as tall as I was.  But those 5 inches sure added up over time.  I felt frumpy always wearing flats, knocking my knee caps into the steering wheel after he drove always left me black and blue.  I found myself shrinking emotionally as a compensation.  Now, 20 some years later height is an issue.  I dont need extremes, but my search begins at 5'10.

I stand in at 4-9  I was married to a tallish(?) 5-3  man  who one would have thought to seem taller than I   but alas...he wasa  petite man...Ima  a sturdy girl,  we both made each other feel poorly in our self esteems...he wasnt able to put his arms around me...and i ended up trying to seem smaller.

I am currently seeing a musculary man who is a strapping 5-4 i think,  and he is able to wrap  both arms around me and have arm to spare, as a matter of fact the first time i was without my customary 3 inch heeled boots he actually noticed that he was taller and remarked about it....  a man comfortable in his self esteem is soooo sexy....
it isnt the size of the dog in the fight it is the size of the fight in the dog or so i have been told!

My last serious vanilla relationship he was about half an inch shorter than myself. Neither of us had an issue with that, but he hurt his back and had two discs removed from his back. That accident ruined our relationship.

Now he and I continued to see each other for a year or so after this occurred. I took care of him after surgery. His own self esteerm was hurt by this. He went from an average height guy to being a short guy overnight. I did not understand how much a male ego could be hurt by this at the time, but I "get it" now. It affected his comfort with me, it affected how he felt about me, and we never actually talked about it, but I realized what the issue was for him. It also impacted his ability to make a living and he was considered disabled after this... this also impacted how he felt about himself in relation to me.

I'd find it weird to be told not to wear heels just due to a physical insecurity on the part of the other person.  That vibe would so not work for me.

But I do like being a little shorter and have no problem going around in sneakers/socks or barefoot if it's warm enough.  I have really pretty feet, prefer being naked, it's comfy, and a few inches shorter tends to be the perfect height for kissing.

Before I came to terms with my submissiveness, I did the online dating thing thru yahoo and met a great guy there.  He and I had a lot in common, and got along great.... and did end up as friends with benefits...... the reason it never went further was because he was about 3 or 4 inches shorter than me.  Interesting thing was that on his profile, he listed himself as 5'9" which is just an inch shorter than me.  But when we met in person, it was obvious he thought he was taller than he actually was.  I think it actually bothered him more than it did me, although he never said as much.

it's hard enough to find "the one" or the "love of your life."  it seems so sad to rule someone out who may be the person you were meant to be with because he's 5'8 instead of 5'11.

too short, too fat, too dark, too bald, too many single people who are alone right now.
