ORIGINAL: onestandingstill I'd also like to point out what detracts me from a lot of shorter men is the whole short man syndrome of being more gung hoe or over bearing because of their own insecurities in their size. suzanne I was in a very small Catholic Chruch for a baptism, no more than say 300 that morning, and I turned around. We were in the front of this small church cause it was my nephews baptism, I had to look at the floor to see it was flat and did not rise at the front like some modern church buildings do. In Jr Hi and Hi School when us girls had to line up by height, I was always 1 or 2. At the Dragonboat competition, sizing into the boat is dependent on height, core tightness (firm abs) and agility. Out of 20, I was 4th in height. And half the team was men. Anyway, in church, I looked back and found myself looking over the heads of at least 3/4 of the congregation. And only a small percentage were old people. I personally have had a painful expereince with the "short man syndrome" altho he was 5'10" but also rather on on slim "petite" side for a man. I do find it hard, within my psyche, to look down to the eyes of a man shorter than myself. Had nothing to do with anything except my personal perference but I found it began to play into my psyche when any <5'8" doms contacted me. I was just thinking about this last night...so thought I'd ask if others thought about this.
