as a kid in school i was almost always in trouble for brawling... ( go figure,,) and because i was the only kid in a small country town with olive skin and the ability to tan each summer i was n******and then halfbreed. both words still to this day have the ability to make me see red and as a child I broke knuckles and bones in my hands when those words were directed at me in the schoolyard and did some damage to the school bullies. the difference these days is that i can recognise the intent behind the words and also the fear behind the intent, and now i can smile ....( after i take a deep breath and concentrate) i guess when a girl grows up in the australian equivalent of 'Deliverance and they look 'different' then its bound to happen. funny thing. i drove through that same seething pit of ignorance commonly known as my hometown some ten years after my family moved away ( dads work, thank the gods!). it is exactly the same, sad pitiable and choking on its own inability to accept change , foul language and filth? are for feral people who havent the wit to express themselves,,, respectfully ...k
