I can't think of any particular word that is necessarily the worst word directed at me. Externally, I guess the cunt is the most repulsive word(obviously doesn't apply to myself), and if I ever call a woman that it would mean I trully hate her. It is the pinnacle of hateful words against women in my mind. Bitch, slut, etc... are just words anymore to me. I'd call a woman a bitch, in a playful manner, without a thought. Like "your one sexy bitch", but I couldn't imagine saying cunt in that fashion.  It has no playful use, as far to me anyway.

That is about the only ultra-offensive word that is offensive by it's mere use to me. The rest are purely based on the context in which it used.

as a kid in school i was almost always in trouble  for brawling... ( go figure,,)
and because i was the only  kid in a small country town with  olive skin and the ability to tan each summer
 i was  n******and then  halfbreed.
both words  still to this day have the ability to make  me see red
and as a child I broke knuckles and bones in my hands when those words were directed at me in the schoolyard
and did  some damage to the school bullies.
the difference these days is that i can recognise the intent behind the words and also the fear behind the intent,
and now i can smile ....( after i take a deep breath and concentrate)
i guess when a girl grows up in the australian equivalent of 'Deliverance and they look 'different'
then  its bound to happen.
 funny thing.
i drove through that same seething pit of ignorance commonly known as my hometown  some ten years after my family moved away ( dads work, thank the gods!). it is exactly the same, sad pitiable and choking on its  own inability to accept  change  ,
foul language and filth? are for feral people who havent the wit to  express  themselves,,,

respectfully ...k

I've always considered cunt to be the gender equivalent of nigger.  No respectable person would ever use it.

Well, that's a matter of opinion.  You feel that "no respectable person would ever use it" but that does not necessarily mean that no "respectable" person ever would.  First of all, what  "respectable" actually means would probably differ with every person you ask.  i used to think this was the worst word to hear when directed at me (or women, in general).  i now disagree.  In the course of my life with Master, it is employed very strategically and lovingly and nothing makes me happier than to be known as HIS cunt.  i now see it as a sweet term of endearment, not a cutting put-down and that is totally because of the way it's used and the feelings behind it.  In Master's definition, a "cunt" is a female used solely for a man's pleasure.  Though He sees me as so much more than that, there are times in O/our life when i am EXACTLY that and nothing more - for HIS sexual pleasure.  So, a word i once considered as ugly as you do has now morphed into something i hear (only from Him, mind you)....and melt   slave luci

For me it was being called that i was a pathetic person (that is among the thing i was called on that particular night)  It was in the middle of a supper in a restaurant, my ex-friend's mother was high and vented big time on me.  I just walked out of the restaurant and today i do see them from time to time......i walk head high, not them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today if that would happen, not sure i would have just walked out of the restaurant.

Actually I don't think I could pick a single word.  I think it's more how the word is used and who it's coming from.  Someone I don't like calling me a bitch won't phase me, if it came from someone I loved it would cut to the quick.

Right now the most hurtful thing is something someone is not saying, but implying.  My grandmother has been implying to my sister and mother, not outright saying, that I'm a drunk and a slut because I have male friends that I go out with occasionally to have a couple of beers.  Oh no!  Apparently chatting with men who have been your friends for a decade is considered infedelity.  And a consenting adult having a few drinks with friends is the making of a drunk.  I'll admit it steams me pretty badly, because those are two things that couldn't be further from the truth, and it's from a woman a truly love and usually respect.  Had it been someone lesser I would probably just laugh.

Edited to add:  As a sidenote, I'm very offended by anyone calling anyone a cunt.  But this is where we get into sticky territory.  (No pun intended.)  If denigrating someone down to nothing but their genitalia is so bad, why is calling a man a "dick" not considered nearly as offensive?

The words that have degraded me most have always been the ones that come out of my own mouth.  I have been called just about every name in the book, at least twice, and it doesn't phase me.  I know who and what I am, and I like me.  Its when my own words or actions are beneath my own standards that I feel that sting.

i never understood what so many found to be offensive about "cunt." to me it's always been a kind of silly word, and kind of "white" to be honest (can't say i've known a great number of black folks to use the word cunt). if i heard someone say it around me, i'd have to suppress an urge to giggle. also, didn't it originate from a word that basically meant bunny rabbit?

Context is everything. I was operating on the context that we were discussing words used with the intention of inflicting real emotional harm. I have nothing against lovers talking "dirty" to each other – I’ve done it myself. However, when two people are having an argument and one resorts to cheap name calling in lieu of reasoned argument, then I have little, if any, respect for that person. All of us are capable of losing our temper and saying things we don’t mean but just as some weapons can inflict more harm than others, some words can inflict more harm than others and when we progress from using words to vent our anger to using words as a deliberate weapon to inflict harm, we give up something of our selves that makes us civilized.

In all honesty, my perceptions may be somewhat clouded by my parents divorce when I was fifteen. It was a very nasty divorce (flying dishes and the whole nine yards) during which my father called my mother a cunt many times, right in front of me. I saw how much it hurt her and I’ve never completely forgiven him for it. My distaste for the word can certainly be traced to that moment.

I think a really nasty expression is one that is common currency in the US but I believe is of Arabic origin
ie Son of a Bitch.

Really awful IMO.

There are a few words i cringe at when used - scum bag is one, dirt bag - it's just nasty, can't see any use for it - even in play it would turn me off.

i also have a problem when someone calls another "ignorant" - if you truly feel that way about someone i would hope you would have the compassion enough to NOT rub their face in it - kinda like kicking a dog when it's down - It reeks of bullying.

i certainly agree with you there.  Master has NEVER called me a name with the intent of harming me or making me feel like a lesser person.  When He calls me "cunt" or any similar word, it is said with the greatest of love

In all honesty, my perceptions may be somewhat clouded by my parents divorce when I was fifteen. i'm sure your dislike for the word does indeed spring from those memories.  That must have been terrible for you - i'm sorry.  i guess it is indeed all about context.
Blessings........slave luci

i don't take offense to many derogatory terms but one i hate with a vengeance is 'you (worthless) piece of shit'.  i don't ever recall personally being called this but whenever i hear the term, regardless of by whom or toward whom, it just really makes me cringe.  And i don't really know why....of all the other terms out there....this one would strike me in such a way....but it does
