i was just lookin on moviefone.com and noticed the poster for it is a rather domly man menacing a slut chained to a radiator. it looks like it has possibilities!!! anyone seen it?

It's not a movie about BDSM - the captivity is not consensual, at least not at first. Seen the trailer, some pretty hot scenes in it though. Samuel L Jackson has never made a really bad movie, IMHO. i no the song and like it. i may go check it out tomorrow if no good ass is available. saw zodiac 2day. very entertaining and good depiction of police work as well, quite riviting flick

I saw the previews of it. I don't normally go to theaters, but I think Im going to have to check this one out. I dont know if its bdsm related, as I havent seen it yet, but I dont think consentuality is what makes it bdsm or not. Looks from the previews like the girl eventually becomes attached to him, but I'm not sure. (Maybe alittle Stockholm syndrome in there?) I dont know if thats the premise in this particular movie, but the idea of it takes me back to a movie that I saw when I was about 13 and I fell in love with it. It was called Sweet Hostage---Martin Sheen and Linda Blair. The girl eventually becomes devoted to her captor. It was really sweet and kind of intense.

as far as i know, alot of romance novels have that theme of a woman getting overpowered by a man she fears and hates and then becoming his devoted sub( tho they don't use that word)

Those romance novels generally have him realizing he's an ass and apologizing, making everything better and then they confess their love for each other. Not that I've read a lot of romance novels in my day.

Black Snake Moan is not about BDSM. It's about a sex-addicted woman and the man who attempts to "cure" her of her addiction. The captivity is non-consensual, but from all I've seen and read, it's not done with evil intent. It's more of an intervention than a kidnapping.
