Masterfiremaam; ....I did just that, walked out of the 'Total Recall', arnold movie; did I get an argument from the manager, never got a pass, no money back; nothing, so I went back, watched this cinematic piece of advert tie-in shit; ....the day was shot to hell anyhow. So I bought some Bon-Bons.....thinking they were of ice cream, they were yorgurt. Talk about a bad day. BTW...after that Total Recall movie, I vowed never again to pay for ANY arnold movie ever.

I'm a fan of the Allan Moore comic, so LXG was nearly agonizing to me.  However, since it was a poor comics interpretation, I don't really count it.  Mistakes made:

  • casting Sean Connery as Quartermain.  Um, why cast an actor who has no chance of properly portraying a recovering opium addict who acts scared of his own shadow.
  • changing Mina Harker.  Since they gave her job as leader to Conner- er, Quartermain, I guess they had to have her as a badass some other way.  oofah.
  • making the Invisible Man a lovable goof.  Okay, granted -- it'd be hard to take kids to a movie that showed the Invisible Man's origins Moore style, but ... yeesh.  They basically changed the tone of the entire story that way.
  • Adding in Huck Finn as a major character.  Um ... the hell?  I guess they'd screwed up the original characters so badly that it made sense to bring in someone else, but he felt so tacked on that it was a rather sad attempt.

Not even Nemo's ship breaking the surface saved that movie for me.

LOL ok...if you want to base the movie on accuracies; then yes, it was horribly innaccurate in keeping with the actual characters. However, I think that for me, it was the complete 'turn around' of the characters that made it enjoyable for me to watch. And...since I had never read the actual comic series; that was never an issue for me.

I do agree with Stella about VanHelsing; however, I thoroughly enjoyed Constantine.

Do you remember that the guy who played Duran Duran was also the friar in the Franco Zefferelli ('72) Romeo and Juliet?  Just as an aside.

Femme Fatale with Antonio Banderas and Rebecca Romijn Stamos. Strange story, hardly understandable. I've seen it with master who dont recall anything about it, everytime i told him that we saw this together,he say: i don't have any f...g idea.

haven't gone thru all the posts....but it was Galaxy Quest..Sigourney Weaver too.....not sure if it's sad that A) I knew that and B), I have it on video.....thought it was okay.....as far as the worst......Vanilla Sky......I still couldn't figure out what it was about!  Nightmare on Elm Street 2, 3, 4, and all of the jason movies but the first.....same with michael meyer.....Jamie Lee Curtis took his head off, yet he came back intact to kill her......

I agree on the Vanilla Sky, but if you want to get a better understanding of what it is about, see Abre Los Ojos by Alejandro AmenĂ¡bar.  Tom Cruise saw this Spanish movie and loved it so much be bought the rights to make an American version.  Cameron Crowe directed Vanilla Sky and wanted to stay so true to the original that he changed very little, yet added more crap to make it even longer.  The problem is that the Abre los Ojos theme is slightly more believable in Spain, but not so believable at the scale projected in Vanilla Sky.

But in the end, don't compare them. Abre los Ojos is definitely the one you want to see, even if you do have to read the subtitles.

Actually Sgt Pepper was ORIGINALLY done by the Beatles, and was remade with Peter Frampton and the BeeGees in 1978.
One of the memorable performances of this remake was Aerosmiths version of "Come Together".  I am posting a link to one of those old 70s movie poster for anyones viewing.pleasure. Also am posting a link from The Bad Movie Report that speaks on the subject. Personally I thought it was a cool movie but I was an 8th grader at the time and Aerosmith ruled my record collection.

And my personal worst The Fly and anything with Jeff Goldblum.

HEY! I liked that movie! Ditto for Space Cowboys.  Attack of The Killer Tomatoes was halarious (ok, I was a kid, but still... it's funny... honest... ). I liked The Village as well. As for Mel Gibson... I liked him & Danny Glover in the Lethal Weapon trilogy. *sigh* I just like movies. They aren't supposed to be reality based or make complete logical sense. Otherwise, I'd just watch/listen to my neighbours & family.

But, imho, the worst movies ever... American Psycho and Eyes Wide Shut (I demanded my money back... along with about half of the other patrons . Management had a wee little hissy fit about it, but some BIG biker dude got... hmmm... colourful?... and we all got our money back as well as free passes *GO BIKER DUDES!*).

As I recall the Beatles only did the album "Sergeant Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band".  It was many years later that the movie came out.  I do not belive the Beatles had anything to do with the production of the movie.   Another bad movie coming to mind is "Lawnmorer Man" based on the Stephen King story, even Stephen King stated the only thing the movie and his story had in common was title.

I wish you well

Any Romeo and Juliet remake, Blankman, The Transporter 2, Crank. Pretty much any action movie that doesn't require a lot acting talent (including the sequels to The Fast and the Furious).

The Scooby Doo movies, which, sadly, i have both.
