Gangs of New York. After what seemed to be 17 hours I was looking for my cyanide capsule, sadly we weren’t even half way through it. I learned to carry cyanide with me after what seemed 29 hours of Good will hunting.

LOL I thought Gangs of New York was pretty good.

compared to Battlefield Earth, everything mentioned so far seems like Citizen Caine

it was only good for getting some entertaining reviews:

Escape to Victory - starring Sylvester Stallone, Bobby Moore, Pele, Micheal Caine..Allied POW's fight a life or death football match against the Master Race. The ending in particular makes no sense at all (though you have to start watching two-thirds in to get to that point). It seems like the makers just gotbored and said "Ok, let's finish now and all get down the pub".

Okay, then thank ALL your lucky stars (and hearts, clovers, blue moons, etc) that you never saw the SEQUAL to that peice of garbage, AKA "Leprechaun in da Hood". No lie. Apparently this one was so popular that they had to follow it up with "Leprechaun in da Hood 2". Because one movie about a wrinkly looking elf man with an unnatural shoe obession killing off horridly stereotyped black folks wasn't enough.

Ack!

Okay... i'll admit that i kinda want to see it now

heh . . . yeah, I bet Forrest Whitaker is happy he had so much make-up on so people wouldn't recognize him.

A lot of so called "bad" movies are actually fun in a campy way, but there is nothing fun about Battlfield Earth except for the humorous reviews it inspired (linked above). If you prefer short and sweet, there's Roger Ebert saying: "Awful in so many different ways."; if you prefer something more poetic, there's this from the Washington Post: "A million monkeys with a million crayons would be hard-pressed in a million years to create anything as cretinous as Battlefield Earth."

It actually comes in tied for 9th in lowest rated movies by reviewers here:

http://www.metacritic.com/video/lowscores.shtml

However, I think the others were relatively low budget productions, so Battlefield Earth probably ranks as the biggest waste of money since that website has been tracking movie reviews.

call me crazy if you want but I rather liked battlefield earth, & wing commander & that other movie.....starship troopers, but im a fan of cheesy B war movies. Now the absolute worst movie to ever come out in the past 20 years had definitly been this new horrendus so called M/s movie called the pet, if you own it, throw it away, if you want to buy it, dont waste your money, if you want to download it, please download something else.

The great thing about this thread is that people tell you their "worst movie" choices and it confirms everything you already thought about them.   Usually that they are totally humorless.  *GRIN*

So...in no particular order, these are THE WORST in my book.  Meaning I wouldn't see them again if you paid me.

Ishtar.  Really as bad as everyone says it was.  Really.

Caligula.  Who knew sex, violence and more sex could be so DULL?  I mean, when you walk out after a rape scene involving a nun and a crucifix not because you are offended, but because you are bored, something ain't right.

And yes...Battlefield Earth.  What a waste of celluloid.

Most movies with Vince Vaughn or Wil Farrell, but put them in the same movie and OMG you have a bad one.

Let's see....Anything with Russell Crowe. I just can't stand him as a person and think his acting just sucks.

Anything with Ben Affleck. Hate him. I love me some Kevin Smith but always fast forward through Ben affleck parts in them.

The Village and Lady in The Water were 2 of the most disappointing wastes of time.

Blair Witch 1 & 2

I liked Mel Gibson as an actor but can't stand anything he's directed (ammended to add that I could do without the last 2 Lethal Weapons even though I'm in the last one as an extra.)

Personally I love Vince Vaughn in everything he's done.

I will rarely see a remake of a classic but I went to the House of Wax remake. Sigh...there will never be another Vincent Price... but I walked out of this one just so horrified (and not in a good way). Poor Vinny is rolling in his grave.

Ishtar was just horrible.

Battlestar Earth..there are no words to how craptastic that was.

Anything with Tom Cruise, dude has just gone into meglomania mode and he squicks me out.

Any of the Police Academy movies.

i'm really surprised by some of the responses posted on here. Some movies people have listed are actually really good movies. Well anyway, here's mine...

Gigli (pronouced "jiggly"? lol) starring the great J. Lo and Ben Affleck. i watched it expecting the worst wondering if it could be as bad as i thought it would be, and somehow it managed be worse that that!

Worst movie ever was called Killjoy. Stupid clown funny ass horror movie. But since I like to think that one isn't well known, I'll go with Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I was held down and forced to watch it until I faked unconsciousness and made my escape.

i would have to add Tenacious D in The Pick Of Destiny as one of the all time worst movies i've ever had the misfortune of viewing. it was vulgar and nasty. people, don't waste your money on this one.
