I've been submissive... for a long time. Perhaps not all of my life, but for a good deal of it.
I'm enslaved to my owner. He has collared me. He still does not call me his slave.
I am his possession and still submissive.

That works for him and so, works for me  :)

i like to go with the *theres no such thing as an unowned slave* line of thought which means to me, i was a submissive before i was collared, and if ever released, i will be a submissive again. i only took the title of slave after i was collared, and sometimes think its silly when girls with no RT experience in D/s call them self a slave. IMO, you can be of slave heart, but to be of slave status i must be owned.

disclaimer: if you are an unowned slave, well i do not think any less of you, this is just my opinion and not intended to start a "youre only real if _________" debate!

just wanna see who else would revoke their slave status if released etc

Haven't read any of the other comments but I look at it this way mixielicous..In reality..there is no definitive "must be's" or "have to's" when calling oneself a slave by simple fact that there is no slavery beyond what is completely personal to those involved. I see so many try to differentiate and seperate themselves from what we all know and learned growing up that these terms "slave or slavery" meant..yet we go so far as to have knock down drag out debates over what constitutes being a slave. A Gor slave or a BDSM slave can not be a slave any more or further than their own personal views on it..and none due to no legality of it can be more right or wrong over another.

To me being a slave is not a physical state of Ownership in the way that most are now living it..it is and has to be a mental/emotional status. Even if a person has a Master..the only way it remains a M/s dynamic is if both want and desire it so because guaranteed if that girl up and says no more..then it's no more, and not a damn thing that Master can do about it no matter how much one profess's they Own her.

Well Wishes

To me, I am only a slave when I am collared....to be a slave, to me, is to be owned. I consider myself a "submissive" the rest of the time. Out of several d/s relationships, I have only once called myself a slave.

(And ditto goes for the phrase Master...it is a term for one who owns me and not used with d/s partners who do not own me).

i agree that it is an emotional.mental status, and that is why if i were to be uncollared, i could not call myself a slave. i would yearn for the man that i wanted to serve in that way, i would yearn for the pleasure that serving a man brings me, but without that man, i am just a polite, charming girl. without that man to take me so far as to own me, well then i am not really a slave in that *inbetween* am i?

and while you may call me young/niave/ignorant well as i profess regularly, Master is the only man i will ever serve. if i am dismissed i would not be a slave anymore. but i would still carry that torch.

no one's calling you young, naive, or ignorant...that i've seen. (maybe i missed something?)

i think it's just that some of us -would- still consider ourselves slaves, others would not.

Angel was a slave before I met him, and he will remain a slave if he is ever released.  Being a slave can be more of a state of mine than an actual disposition. For some, they cannot be in that mindset if they are not owned, for otehrs they cannot pursue an owner if they are not in that mindset.

I honestly didn't know I had slave in me until I was owned by a truly wonderful Master... however due to health issues I was released (his not mine).  I am a slave now and when I look for a partner I don't look for just a Dom or a Daddy, now I want a Master who would like to own a slave.  I kind of like the term "slave heart" by the way

i feel anyone who yearns to be a slave, is of slave heart. the term is nothing selective or pure to me.

I essentially find this hard to swallow myself....  why?
One can yearn to be a slave all they want when the only thing they know about being a slave is taken from the internet...its a fantasy. I would also venture to say that fantasy is much more difficult to put into real life situations, when the internet is all one knows.

I will give you an example.  I am a submissive, by nature introverted and shy, tending toward passive agressive and have had self esteem issues all my live.  In my heart I fantasize about being a slave, but not the kind of slave I read about on the Internet in BDSM.
If in being submissive and having a Dom, he tells me I will be punished/disciplined for "_____" and I only know the fantasy of being disciplined/punished, by say, a good belting (cause I hate belts) and i really DO get that and find myself not at all being submissive in taking my punishment, but arguing and throwing a temper tantrum ....  bringing the reality of consequences to inappropriate behaviour is VERY different than the fantasy of a good belting.

I am also NOT caught up in all the labels ...that is superfilious as far as I am concerned, but I definately do identify with the levels of submission.

you are 23 lilone....
I am going to venture to say, in all generalities, that the likelihood of an M/s relationship lasting a lifetime is as likely as a marriage with the divorce rate in todays society.

I was niave enough to say "he is the only man i will ever serve" but when my self esteem and self awareness finally found me and connected with the inside of me.... I can say, if I did not move on and have my eyes opened, I might not be here today.

Never say never

You can only be naive if you allow it. Other than that you are stupid.

Kinda implies you don't have a heart for anything else doesn't it? Frankly I find the whole thing suitable for erotic novels and drama speeches. I don't have a "subbly heart" a "slave heart", a "kitten heart", an "art heart", a "girlfriend heart" even though I love, fulfill and yearn for all those roles when they are taken away from me. I have an "Aqua heart" and that suits much better in my opinion. More room for diversity.

hey, that happened after i posted! you can't hold it against me ;) *hugs*

that's okay. i'm used to hearing many of the same things...i think that even though we may appear naive for our belief in love, as long as we have strong, functional relationships, it shouldn't matter whether we fit someone else's description of naive.

Just a reply..

I acknowlege, and accept any girl or boy who comes forward and says they are a slave..wether owned or unowned. I hold no difference in their status. Experience to me does not determine that. There are a great many slaves out there that have more interaction, usage, etc. from going to dungeons and what not then I will ever have. There are a great many slaves with Masters who can not live under the same roof and only see eachother now and again. So from these two as far as experience goes in being controlled, subjected to things they may not want to do etc...who's more a slave?

I guess I just can't use owned or unowned as a determining factor in this. I am more inclined to use ..is it a constant within you? If so..then your a slave to me. If not..then your not. "your" in general terms.

Well Wishes

Labels do sometimes make it hard as they are arbitrary and unique to the individual using them. I categorize myself as a submissive and not a slave for this reason. When I first came into this lifestyle I had an Old School trainer for about a year. While playing when I got to where when He was pushing a limit I would start making a “shhhh” sound. After one scene we discussed this. The outcome of the discussion was that when I would get to a certain point of letting go of all control I would feel the need to comfort myself so I could try to let go. We discussed trust and being assured He was there and it was His responsibility to care for me, comfort me, and to make sure I was safe.
Months later while playing He made a long concerted effort to gradually move me to that place where I could absolutely let go. After hours of this slow gradual build up I got ever so close to absolutely letting go and handing over complete control, I thought to myself “oh God I just want to let go” the minute that thought came to my mind out came the little “shhhhhh” sound, and I knew and He knew I was back in the present. With that there was a firm whack of the cane to the bottoms of my feet, and he started unclipping the chain. When I sat up and looked at Him my eyes welled with tears, and He kissed forehead and said “sweety you are so willing, and have such a slave heart, but such a subbie head”.
So for me it is not a matter of being owned or unowned it is a matter of my ability to trust so completely, to know for absolutely certain that be it Master or Dominant that I do not need to protect that last little piece of me that wants so desperately to let go.

But that is justmi

I think of myself as a submissive - not as an uncollared slave or unowned slave. It is a line of thought amongst many on this subject - and i wonder if just being a submisive does not also lead me to being a slave of the  heart as well. Loved all the different tie ins on this subject - alot of things to get one thinking. :)
