ORIGINAL: beltainefaerie In a recent campaign we are playing evil characters (I am a priestess of chaos bent on bringing about the apocolypse and he is a sadistic mage really only out for himself). We kidnapped and tortured a good, innocent priestess together for information and the entertainment value. Much fun was had by all. His wife, my sisterslave, is virtually never submissive to him in game, but often sexual with him and with me as well. Sounds fun. If this is D&D, you might want to check out the Book of Erotic Fantasy supplement, as well as the book about evil stuff. Not my thing, but thought I'd pass it on in case it was relevant. My slave, nephandi, is the storyteller for our group, as she has a real talent for bringing worlds, stories and characters to life. We generally play World of Darkness games (Vampire and Mage mostly), or freeform based on settings like Wheel of Time or the Sword of Truth. This works out well although, as she herself points out, she has a bit of a problem disciplining the group, which makes us picky about who we play with. Occasionally, I have done some storytelling as well, but I have a hard time getting things to flow as an ST without doing tons of preparations up front, though I'll be running a game in Ars Magica soonish. For those who know the setting, we're thinking Novgorod and the characters will be getting together right after the Grand Tribunal where the defeat of House Diedne is announced. As for bringing the lifestyle into the game, that hasn't really panned out. Most of our friends are vanilla, so to the extent that they are amenable to the idea, they still don't have the faintest clue as to what it's all about, making it kind of kinky in a bad way for us. Also, there's this thing about not forcing it on others. It does bring some interesting opportunities for interactive fantasy, though. There's a lot of stuff that can be entertaining to a significant percentage of the community if they had a way of dropping the ethical and legal baggage attached to it, and in a table-top RPG you can do just that, whether it's throwing consent to the winds, inflicting completely unreasonable amounts of suffering and throwing healing powers at it afterwards, or even going for an all-out evil character as beltainefairy pointed out. Or, you can use it to play out how you'd like for things to work, using characters with BDSM lifestyles in a story where this doesn't play a significant part in itself. Fantasies are good for us all, I think, and sometimes they can be used to explore topics, as well as setting up examples of something that one cannot quite put into words otherwise. Currently, we've got a couple of "kink-enabled" storylines going in a play-by-mail format, which works semi-well in that it allows us to reply when we have the time, but I find I'm having trouble getting back "in-character" between replies sometimes, so I guess I'll have to get used to it again (did this a lot years ago). Incidentally, a V:tM RPG over IRC is how we met.
