*grins evilly*  That depends on how cutely you are willing to beg in the clutches of a tentacle-porn monster.

*blushes* Great. As if my fantasies weren't weird and disturbing enough. Thanks Charmer.

Aswad:  ohh!!  someone else who knows Ars Magica!!!  My Master, Xeth, is a huge magica fan.  I bought him all the books I could find at the time for it.  We have not yet been able to play it though.

Perhaps we should set up a Play-by-Mail sometime or something [:D]

I do think too few people are aware of Ars Magica. The fourth edition system was the first game mechanic I have actually liked; it is fast, it is realistic, and it is simple. I have been using a generalized version of it for other games now for a while, including modern settings. I added support for firearms by adapting the Friday Night Firefight rules from CP2020; those were developed with feedback from SWAT, ballistics, etc.; I've simplified them a bit, but they retain virtually identical performance at a much higher pace.

Not sure how many people are still reading this thread, but I just set up a trial for World of Warcraft.  I get lost in real life without a GPS; I need maps for everything. What's the best entry-level, easy to use web site with WoW maps and information for the very, very new?
Thanks in advance!
Akasha

Aswad -> RE: Gamer subs! (4/10/2007 10:34:46 PM)

No idea. I found the best way was to play it at a gaming café, where you can ask other, more experienced players. Although I do have the ability to find my way, most of the time. I started out with absolutely no ability to navigate at all, in the real world, that is, and then one day it all just fit, and I can now almost always find my way from anywhere I've been once to anywhere else I've been once, and usually can find my way elsewhere with directions. A piece of advice from a friend of mine, who solved his problem in a conscious way, is to walk around various random routes, and identifying them on a map, so you start to make the topographical connections in your head. It takes time, but that's supposed to suddenly "fit" as well.

servilecat -> RE: Gamer subs! (4/10/2007 11:03:29 PM)

i used to have a gaming store and i could sort of tell when couples were giving each other that "You are so going to pay for that" look.  We had everything from Warlord to Magic and Warhammer and a basement for live action play and there is no telling what went on down there at times.
i actually think if You can scam, beat, win, or coerce your way through a game it should be totally fair and legal....YEAH RIGHT...

That reminds me i have a ton of gaming junk to either ebay or bonfire for old times sake....Santa Cthulhu is the first to go  *twisted, sick, sadistic laugh*

nephandi -> RE: Gamer subs! (4/11/2007 4:35:46 AM)

xethnkitten -> RE: Gamer subs! (4/11/2007 10:15:05 AM)

I will talk w/ my Master to see if he is interested in a playbymail Magica.

I would like to get back into feng shui.  I had a really kick a$$ char who killed a guy w/ a ballpoint pen to the throat.   Ahhh.. good times

I run an online text based interactive storytelling game Tuesday nights, 7-10:30PM Pacific time (10-12:30 Eastern time).  Currently it's Serenity/Firefly.  Pervy/adult themes are perfectly fine when they fit into the plot, but it's a roleplaying/storytelling game and not focused entirely on gratuitous sex or kink.

Though last night a cute young doctor (NPC) got kidnapped out of a hospital on Ariel.....the possibilities are endless, especially if a player wanted to take over this character.

ScreamerGirl -> RE: Gamer subs! (4/11/2007 2:08:11 PM)

Okay, I want in on the BDSM guild in WoW *grin* Come to Baelgun and play horde!

I bought these for a friend of mine for Christmas - they were just too cute  http://www.jinx.com/scripts/details.asp?productID=572

Aswad -> RE: Gamer subs! (4/11/2007 3:28:07 PM)

Just FYI everyone, me and nephandi are willing to set up an Ars Magica PBM, if enough people are interested. Anyone that find it tickles their fancy should probably PM, as the details of such a game may be of little relevance/interest to the general audience in this thread.

phoenixinchains -> RE: Gamer subs! (4/11/2007 7:21:47 PM)

oh no, not the vanillia!!! well, my master/alpha have had near 6 years of gaming together. I don't enter his online stuff, not my style, and that works well for us. In table top Dand D there's tradionally a party where he fills an assertive smashy bashy role and I get something background fun like healer. We've done some LARPs where I play a person assistant (which gives me room to learn the game) and after enough time we've found methods where everyone gets what they want out of gaming. IMHO, I think that anyone who doesn't have some sort of role playing outlet is setting themselve up for a meltdown, espeacially married folk. - Phoenix

slcsub -> RE: Gamer subs! (4/11/2007 8:38:46 PM)

I haven't read through the entire thread (8 pages!) so I apologize if this has been covered...

For you role-players out there familiar with text-based MU*s, there is a VERY large one devoted to BDSM, Shangrila. Again, it is texted base (requires a telnet or MU* client) so if you are familiar with that style of role-playing you'll probably like it. I recommend it highly.

I always thought it would be really hot to have a healer wow character that exists just to follow around my future owner ;)
I'm not sure that my other characters would accept a sub role, they have minds of their own!

I did that, it was hawt!  It makes getting to 60 alot more fun.  Warrior/priest combo.

second life, ftw!

SECOND LIFE = CRACK!

Been in the game five weeks and I own a low prim residential sim (yeah, 64.5Ksqmeters just for me and my toys - low lag city), am developing a zen garden style shopping mall on 14Ksqmeters on the new continent, just sold a 2048sqm waterfront parcel and am about to launch a new xcite! compatible jewelry line.  The custom skin to match my dragon is on order and the dungeon is safely tucked away in my secret room below my waterfall (where my living quarters are).

I'm lost and bound for hell, I'm sure.

I've never done online gaming.  I have avoided it for a reason.  AD&D addiction back in the day. <grin>

I still keep a letter from Gary Gygax threatening legal prosecution if I didn't take down a BDSM dungeon scenario from GEnie network.  Yes, younglings, waaaayyy before the internet.

I ration myself to 4 hours a week of gaming. It keeps the withdrawals at bay.

Wow.. I'm willing to bet some gamers would pay a lot of money for that letter

Mysia -> RE: Gamer subs! (5/2/2007 4:29:05 PM)

I met my sub due to gaming, but not on a game. He was following a game I was working for, eventually we started gaming things like EQ2 and GuildWars together.

Me, I'm from late UO, first year EQ days. He was born with a game console in his crib, so it seems. He doesn't game as much with consoles now days, mostly because I have him busy farming or leveling my characters. [:D]

Someone in this thread made a statement referring to games as a place to get away from the real world. For us they are entertainment and a social outlet primarily. Only when we take on actual roleplay are they our escape. It is during roleplay that we are no longer dominant/submissive.

Outside of roleplay and in game, we're D/s. He loots and sells and hands me the coin when I say. He farms, researches, and levels my characters when I say to. Sometimes I think he lets my char die on purpose in hopes I'll punish him.

We have great fun gaming together. He does have games and characters he plays without me, mostly because I need to give him more chores to do I'm thinking.

As for WoW pfftt get a real game! *tease tease* Yes, I'm just joking. [;)]

I am curious how many submissives and dominants play healer classes.

Kind regards

I know that many of the MMORGs have some sub/dom groups going around where one person will become more powerful based off of the activities of others. I think it was EverQuest where you actaully had a xp system that made this happen. One person would be the lord/lady of another and the servents would go out and earn xp for them. It was based on a percentage. I didn't play the game very long, but this system made for a lot of sub/dom type of relationships, at least in my eyes, I'm sure someone who is not into BDSM might not see it the same way.

That would be Asheron's Call, not EverQuest. [;)]
