Your opinion of a peaceful person appears to be anyone who agrees a 100% with you and a violent person, anyone who is in 1% in disagreement with you.

Nothing quite like putting words in somebodys' mouth to make them look bad is there, meat. You have to love the ol' straw man argument, I guess...

Name-calling is always good too, isn't it.

Here's a little hint for you - don't wonder in the future why I completely ignore your posts.

Feel free. It was just a honest observation. You always seem to think everyone who doesn't believe in rightwing white conservative America or doesn't belong to rightwing white conservative America, has an agenda to destroy America and all it stands for.

farglebargle -> RE: Report on the Anti-War Protest this weekend ... (3/18/2007 7:19:40 AM)

Hell, to the Neocon Party Whores, REAL CONSERVATIVES don't belong to "Rightwing Conservative America".

Fiscal Responsibility Anyone? What did Bush run up the National Debt to?

Some people care more about "Rah, Rah, Rah, Go George Go!" more than "Truth, Justice, and The American Way".

caitlyn -> RE: Report on the Anti-War Protest this weekend ... (3/18/2007 7:21:25 AM)

To me, you are reaching a bit when you point to specific signs or chants at a protest ... no matter what side you are on. I think the whole point, is to go with something extreme, so as to get noticed. Somehow I doubt a sign that read: "President Bush, would you please rethink our policy in the Middle East.", would get that much play.

Blix summed up this war. Bush wanted to go to war before the inspectors found a reason not to. The inspectors were consistently saying they were getting to the answer about WMD, the Iraqi regime were a nuisance and nothing else and they didn't believe he had any WMD but would get the proof or as near as possible to it. Bush wanted this war, he fucked up for reasons we can debate, though clearly the reason wasn't WMDs. People have a right to demand his head and all of those who voted for the war.

untamedshysub -> RE: Report on the Anti-War Protest this weekend ... (3/18/2007 7:43:24 AM)

The more things change the more they stay the same. Politics have not changed in over 30 years. When the soliders come home from Iraq the crime rate goes up in the areas they are in because no one has deprogramed them and they abuse and sometimes kill the ones they love has anyone talked about that? no not good headlines. Instead of getting into debates over things that cannot be controlled how about doing somethign that can be controlled helping the soliders readjust to life so they can live as normal a life as possible and protect their wives , children and girlfriends? How about keeping some of the money we are spending in Iraq to support the soliders here when they come back home to make them whole ?  now that is a protest I would take part in.

meatcleaver -> RE: Report on the Anti-War Protest this weekend ... (3/18/2007 7:54:54 AM)

Untamedshysub. What you say makes sense. The irony is that those people that propose war are the same people who immediately forget about the troops and the problems they bring home with them when the war ends. Thye will be the same people who will accuse these maladjusted men of having a choice, to commit crime or not and they will be the same people who will propose that these maladjusted men should be locked up and the key thrown away. No doubt they will deny it but just look at their response after every other war.

caitlyn -> RE: Report on the Anti-War Protest this weekend ... (3/18/2007 7:56:14 AM)

Since you mentioned WMD's ... I noticed that none of you that are always handy with a link ... said a word about the clorine gas attacks in Iraq last week. It's probably because the use of poison gas on civilians was 'forced' by the United States.

Even more curious, is that our friendly neocon posters didn't pick up in this at all. They seem to be too busy bashing Democrats to mention this.

Strong evidence for a point I have been making for a long time ... spending our time hammering on each other, and screaming names like Middle School kids, deflects from real issues, and gets us the sort of leaders we see today.

Pretty pathetic response. Saddam and his regime are gone. What we have now are insurgents that wouldn't be a problem if the invasion hadn't taken place.

He should have listened to his father's general, Schwartzkopf, who said, the American army in Iraq would be like a mamoth in a tar pit.

BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: Report on the Anti-War Protest this weekend ... (3/18/2007 8:26:53 AM)

Tar pit or not at least Saddam would have been gone and we could have left them to diffie up the country and that will like will happen soon..bounty

fast reply

There are many veterans that marched to the Pentagon with the protestors. Do they count to the Washington Post writer? How biased

This weekend, we have to march again.  We march for peace, justice, and an end to this occupation.  Whether you choose to join VFP in Fayetteville, NC, go march on the Pentagon in Washington D.C., or you decided to join your local efforts at home - IT'S TIME WE RAISE OUR VOICES

SimplyMichael -> RE: Report on the Anti-War Protest this weekend ... (3/18/2007 8:33:21 AM)

Which is more fanciful?

Chanting to life the pentagon into the air?

Thinking Iraq would pay for itself?
That Chalabi would be able to control Iraq?
That putting the Shia in charge would be a good idea?

Anyone with half a brain knew the first one was lunacy, but Bush promoted Wolfowitz to the world bank

Everyone with half a brain knew Chalabi was a crook and a few knew he was an Iranian double agent.  What a coup that would have been for Iran, having America invade Iraq and put your mole in charge!

Bush's daddy, as well as anyone with a 1/4 of a brain knew putting the shia in charge would lead to disaster.

Yep, I figured it would be our fault.

Hey, when all else fails, call someone else's opinion, pathetic. [;)]
