In my experience anyone that wants to collar someone so soon is not very confident in himself or his abilities. It seems that this so called Master is looking for a stable rather than a slave and that he will latch on to anyone that so the slightest interest. I would classify this guy as more of a swinger or player pretending to be a Dominant.
I understand that you do have feeling for this guy but it is far better that you get completely away while you are still wounded but able to recover.

I've heard of people getting married faster. I'm not about to make a judgement based solely on "how long".

It really depends on the chemistry, the attraction and the size of the neck, larger collars can be expensive, is your slave truly worth? I always look at the neck size before making such difficult decisions.
