Hello. I'm new to ass play in general and sometime in the near future I plan to start practicing ass play on myself using an assortment of buttplugs and toys. Since through my reading I've neer found an answer to the following question of mine, I decided it would be a good idea to ask it here.

What is the best way to prepare your ass for anal play of any sort? I've heard of enema's as one solution, but is that all that one needs to doto make sure they're clean back there and ready? If do use an enema, how long before the play starts should I do it, and how long will that keep my rear free of "obsticles"? Are there other ways to keep myself clean and ready back there?

You don't have to use an enema unless you want to. Things can be washed, and sometimes an enema is a sensual experience if you are into that sort of thing. I would suggest before doing an enema to look on the Health and safety board to see the posts about them. But as far as preparing your self do what you feel comfortable doing. And as the pervious poster said...try lube.

Enemas aren't necessary if you're just going to be using plugs, but make using a strap on far more pleasant. Regardless, if you use a condom over the insertable, it makes clean up much easier. Keep a towel handy. Buy and use only your own exclusive insertables. Make sure you ONLY use toys meant for anal play, that have a flared bottom so they don't get "lost". Use lots of water-based lube (like KY, Astroglide). Start small, and go slow.

Start small, maybe using a small plug and gradually increase the size. Be patient, use lots of lube. Anal play should not be painful. If it is, then you are not allowing sufficient time for the sphincter muscles to relax. Don't try forcing a toy because it'll only feel painful. When done right, anal play can be very pleasurable. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a decent FAQ when I did a Google search. Zindyslave had a good suggestion when she recommended the Health and Safety boards. Good luck. :)

I have a hard time with enemas and cramping and worrying over ‘leaking’…but still want to ensure I’m clean. I just use a ball-syringe thingy which is for anal use but only holds a cup or two of water. And using plain water IS the easiest on your body; if you use a Fleet’s enema bottle, empty the contents and refill with just warm water. If you understand you need only to clear the last 6-8” or so, you’ll realize there is no need (unless you enjoy them), to use quarts of liquid and an hour or two of your time every time you want to play anally.

Flushing with one ‘ball’ full of very warm water, emptying immediately and repeating IF necessary keeps me clean and healthy; enemas aren’t something one should do regularly, as they will upset your body’s balance and ability to carry on ‘evacuation’ on it’s own. Of course, every body is different, but I find that this routine will keep me ‘clear’ for a couple hours, anyway. As quick and easy as this method is, you can repeat as needed without worry.

Past that, I agree with what others are saying; bag your toys and don’t share them with others. Start small, go slow and use lube; LOTS and LOTS of lube.
