Obvisiously you didn't read Caitlyn's post, warning Michael he will be morderated, recieve a warning and be gone off the forums, how she'll miss him. I was referring to the warning...no desent....I'm not smoking anything; but you must certainly are eating the Rep. Bush sh-t.

I must have not read Caitlyn's post either. I didn't see anyone warn Michael. I only saw someone state that he will probably get himself moderated soon, or get a warning and then leave. I said it because it has happened before, and the conduct that made it happen, seems to be repeating itself.

Past that, the only purpose for the entire exchange, was to make the point that if he gets moderated, or leaves, he will be unable to make any points to anyone.

Life as a political moderate ... the right accuses you of being in the left, and the left accuses you of being in the right. How charming. [;)]

Caitlyn, join the club.
As an Independant we get it from both sides!
Cloudboy said I read, "the Karl Rove handbook."
I wonder if that's the one with national healthcare, secure borders, no "U.N.", no Nafta etc?

ferryman777 -> RE: Republican morality (4/1/2007 4:42:28 PM)

Well then, that explains it, then, and I stand corrected. I always thought in a free forum, one could post their thoughts, as long as it was decent and not an all out abusive rant/degarding of some sort. But you are correct, if it takes offence to the beliefs of the owner, or moderator of the forums, and you are admonished for your post/rant,  then indeed the idealogical 'Free Speech' really has no meaning. In fact then, you are censored in what you are allowed to say or write.

I stand corrected, and I apologize.

caitlyn -> RE: Republican morality (4/1/2007 5:46:20 PM)

I might be completely wrong about this ... the law is not my strong suit.

I think free speech allows you to say and/or write whatever you want, but you are still subject to rules (laws) ... like if you slander someone, you can be involved in a lawsuit.

I don't think the rules here are any different. You can say whatever you want, but are still subject to rules.

That said, the moderators are pretty damn tolerant, especially on this section of the website. We discuss difficult topics, and I think they do a great job of keeping it civil, while allowing expression. I also feel that as a person that has been given a few warnings, I've never gotten the feeling that it was held against me.

When all else fails, I comfort myself with the thought that if I don't like the rules here, I can always ask for my money back.[;)]

How to stop illegal immigration - annex Mexico

1.) By annexing Mexico and making it a state there will not be any more illegal aliens from Mexico as they will have citizenship.

2) Border crossing to protect will be smaller as it now will be south of Mexico.

3)Bush will get the gas so he will stop sucking up to Mexico's prez

End of problem.

SirDiscipliner69:
I am not sure just how exactly one might annex Mexico.  Do you suppose that the mexicans would approve? Or do you suppose we might have to fight another war with Mexico to steal the rest of their country.
thompson

I am sure they wouldn't mind leasing Mexico to the US for a few years.

That way jobs would be leagal and we could improve work and living conditions in Mexico...the main reason people are leaving there in droves...the Economy.

Start work programs like they did for the depression and see how many problems are solve.

Then the strain on the US schools and hospitals would have the pendulmn swing the other way.

Actually, invading Mexico would have made a lot more sense than invading Iraq but we no longer have the military ability to invade Mexico thanks to the idiots about whom this thread is devoted.

Why is it always invasion rather than diplomacy?

Is that what the last 8 years under the Bush administration has done.

Buy it through negotiations.

They want to feed their families and provide to get them out of the squalor they are currently live in.

Why not help them by propping up work programs in Mexico instead of always doing something negative.

They should of hired them to build the freekin' wall and paid them.

Why would a Canadian want to sojourn in the USA illegally? It just doesn't make sense. If you believe international stats and satisfaction polls, Canadians have one of the highest qualities of life in the world.

Perhaps they do not like the second language there and wish to trade it for learning Spanish.

A quick check on Wikipedia shows that roughly 6% of illegal immigrants to the U.S. come from Europe and Canada.

Seems this thread has gone down the toilet without any serious discussion.

Bring Michael back and let him debate.

Maybe he might see the fruits of forgetting personal references.

Nope sinergy, that is not what I was refering to.  A direct comment at me was made, and when I called the person on it, they deleted, and tried to pretend it was never said.  Surley you agree that is dishonest and pathetic.

ferryman777 -> RE: Republican morality (4/2/2007 7:54:32 AM)

I agree 100%, I never slandered anyone, and always maintain civility in my posts, quite the contrary to some others on this forum. True, free speech, within a certain framework, that is understood, accusations without proof is slander; and should not be the method of operation. Censorship curtails free speech, that is all I'm saying; the party should state the facts, those facts should be actual and not fabricated non-sense just to agitate and obsure truth.

Your first post, the one I responded to; Read as to my interpetation and understanding, as if, you were warning Simply Michael to tow the mark, go along with the status quo, or be ousted; but now that I understand your intent, It makes perfect sense. Failure to comprehend my apparent  'knee-jerk' response which was met with insult & mockery, when the respondants could have simply asked in a civil manner an explanation of my response, if they were all in a thither and were bothered so much by what I said. The only respondant who exhibited good sense was from one called Sanity, who comprehended my meaning, and he and I disagree on many perspectives.

I am always astonished at the insulty remarks I read on these forums, when respondants do not agree on idealogies, and I think, of that  bible saying..."cast not your pearls of wisdom before swine, fore they will turn and rend them unto you." And in my misunderstanding your intent, and the subsequent responses I received certainly proved that to be of the upmost truth.

I can't imagine what. Why would anyone want to immigrate from a country that has universal healthcare to a country that doesn't?

Because so called universal health care, like any government bureaucracy, sucks. It is a common sight around here (I live only twenty-five minutes from the border) to see Canadian licence plates at the doctor’s offices. They don’t like being put on waiting list for treatment they need now.

Oh God! Can I ever relate to that. Based upon some of the responses I’ve gotten on these boards I am a left-wing, pinko, commie, war mongering, nazi, right-wing Christian, atheistic, Bush-ass-kissing, Bush hating, nutcase. To be fair, I don’t really think of myself as a moderate either. I’m off on a completely different tangent that nobody seems to get. Ah, well.

I agree with this, in a sense, Marc2b.  I was married to a Canadian who absolutely loved my union benefits and talked about how much better they are than Canadian benefits.

Socialized medicine aims to give some level of healthcare to everybody for a reasonable cost.  It is not the best healthcare money can buy, but a person can still go to a clinic and get some level of healthcare.  Those who have money or wonderful insurance can get great health care.

The main reason our medical and pharma companies are so rabidly opposed to socialized medicine in the United States is that it would empower the government to negotiate on an even field for treatment costs.  As it is, people get government health care regardless and the Medical/Pharma companies in the United States have the government over a barrel.

Yes but times and the economy has changed.

If Bush passed something like this it would make him look good before the Govonator inspires some to do it for him.
