Not just ghosts, but also things like psychic abilities, curses, and stuff like that?

Has anyone actually seen a ghost?

Oh, me me!  I do and I have.  I believe that anything can be true in varying levels if you believe in it deeply enough, but that's a whole other philosophical ballgame.

I ghost hunt all the time.  I went last Tuesday, I went yesterday, and I'm going again this Wednesday.  I'm pretty excited about it because it's at an old abandoned haunted hotel that Al Capone used to hide out in.  I've been wanting to go for years, but something always stood in my path.  Now I finally get to go!  Yay!  Forget long moonlit walks on the beach, I'd rather sit in an abandoned asylum with video cameras and EMF readers.

greetings,

yes, i believe in the supernatural. i have never "seen" a ghost, but i have experienced some extraordinary stuff after my mom passed (knocking on the door when there wasn't anyone outside, my handbag smelled strongly of her perfume for weeks, even after being washed multiple times, my sister and i would come home to her house/the house i grew up in and all the pictures would be turned a certain way). my uncles also experienced some pretty weird stuff after my paternal grandmother passed away. those are my strongest associations with the supernatural, but not my only ones.

annabelle.

First i'd just like to say if you are seeking solid proof of the supernatural then forget it, you won't find proof, then again its incredibly hard to prove most things these days, that does NOT mean they arent there it merely suggests Science dosent have the means necessary to capture the relevant data.

Too many people through out history and now have experienced things that modern Science cannot record, sure we have EVP and various devices to capture sound, motion, visual phenomena like orbs but again everything is down to interpretation, Parapsychologists can and will refute anything they can put down to possibly being something else but again thats just a Scientific application of the experience.

One thing that is certain and that is the increased charlatan and the incredible scam element of mysticism, YES i fully agree there are reasonable, physiological and psychological reasons for some things to occur but this certainly dosent give people the right to prey on the individuals who actually would like things explained to them just because they feel its what they want to hear and thus makes them feel better.

It's a crying shame when you see ordinary people desperatly looking for someone to shed light on something that has occured in ther lives and all they get is some whacko who is lost in their own egos and playing on people fears for money, that or they get the stone cold sceptics 'your making this up, your a fake or you are mad'.

All i would suggest to someone who has seen, heard or experienced something weird is that they keep an open mind when seeking answers and make their OWN minds up not blindly believe someone. There are people who do not follow a 'path' do not claim to be psychic or mediums but who are open to the possibilities, those are people best to speak with.

Most people that believe, appear to believe in some god or supernatural force that created the universe, but they never seem to be able to explain why this god, this power, created what we call natural forces and then decides to break the natural laws they created to intervene in a creation of their own making? It don't make sense

Quite. That is because they and you are wrong. I count at least three erroneous perceptions.

I have never had paranormal experiences. However, I did experience convincing synchronicity and I did experience convincing powerful reiki.

I'm a little doubtfull about all this stuff.
I've never seen or experienced anything like these things.
And why does it always have to be some black and white moldy smelling stinky "ghost" covered in spiderwebs?
Why not a sexy looking apparition in high heels, stockings, garterbelt and thongs? Named "Blanche."
"C;mere Blanche, give me a "boo-job!"
Now give me a poltergeist like that and I'll believe in "ghosts" all day long!
Who the hell wants to believe in ghosts who all look like President Buchanan?

Would being able to senses and glean information from a persons energy aura be considered supernatural?  Would being able to create and use EM radiation?  Would being able to Discharge bolts of EM that can kill be supernatural?  There are animals that can do these things.

If you really want to 'understand' why strange things happen, i dont just mean ghosts etc but of the past then you need to put aside all 'perceptions' of any form of laws/reality. People simply apply something strange to the current level of thinking they have and when it dosent make any sense it goes into the 'rubbish' department. It's not as simple as 'oh if there are ghosts why arent they here when i call them' and that type of logic is better suited to monkey see monkey do activities. Stay open and research all possibilities.

It seems to me people believe god's, ghosts, ghouls and anything else supernatural because they want every last thing explained which is probably going to be forever beyond our capabilities and they don't like to think their life is subject to chaotic chance. Unfortunately people who are killed in earthquakes, tsunamis and road accidents are victims of chaotic chance. It's the human condition that we are aware of so much yet know so little. I'd rather live being aware of my ignorance rather than believe in nonsense.

Science can't prove the existance of ghosts, but science also can't disprove the existance of them. Perhaps they are not really spirits in a religious sense. Einstein for example theorized that there are multiple planes of reality and time. In other words, there are other dimensions that pararrel our universe. Perhaps at certain locations, one or more of these dimensions intersect with our universe. Or perhaps a portal opens that allows entities from the other universe to roam through ours or get trapped. Do some people make up these ghost stories...probably. But at locations where there have been long-term reports of supernatural activity, controlled studies do show unexplained phenomenon such as wild temperature changes or magnetic flucuations. Science simply can't explain it because we lack the knowledge. We have such a poor understanding of our existance and universe right now. What science can't explain, religion fills in the gap.

I believe, but I was also raised to believe.
I practice and believe in lore and rituals, and the usual and not quite usual lot of supernatural occurances, rituals, and activities.

As stated, I was raised in it, and I still believe it. My family's blood line goes back into both Gypsy magic, Stregheria, and Egyptian mystics.
So I definately believe, I've seen enough to make Me believe in it.

Definitely, to both - and I'm well aware that my adament belief has lead some to believe that I am crazy - in fact, I sometimes wonder myself.  However, at the end of the day, I know what I have experienced (in part because I'm not the only one who experienced about 1/2 of it), and so those who think I'm crazy can just move along and continue thinking that somewhere else.

Science can't prove the existance of ghosts, but science also can't disprove the existance of them.

That is a great excuse for believing in the pink elephant that dances a ballet on my fence every morning while being fucked by a mouse. You can't prove or disprove it. However, no one would run their everyday life with such a belief system.

Perhaps they are not really spirits in a religious sense. Einstein for example theorized that there are multiple planes of reality and time. In other words, there are other dimensions that pararrel our universe.

Einstein theorized on a lot of things but he never believed that the laws of natural physics would or could be broken by any phenomemon and therefore he believed in a rational universe and not in anyway, the supernatural.

Science is still a young subject and there is inevitably gaps. Give science thousands of years like religion and it will come up with far better explanations than religion. In the brief period of history of science, man flies round the world in a matter of hours, has been to the moon, has explained and cured many illnesses and created a world full of what a couple of hundred years ago would have been supernatural phenomenon. Religion and belief in the supernatural has explained nothing, zilch, nil.

If people really believed in the supernatural rather than using it to explain what they can't explain, they would go back to rubbing on unguents for all sorts of illnesses rather than seeking out medical advice. People use the supernatural to commune with the dead because their is no evidence that people live beyond their death so they cling to any crazy belief system. Most of this is because people just can't accept their own demize, that they cease to be, that they are extinguished at death but all the evidence points to a person's mind and personality are inextricably linked to their body which is why minds and personalities can be altereded through drugs.

Apparently you do. Stop experimenting with mind altering substance abuse, MC.

So do billions of spiritually aware people. It is only you whom sees pink elephants dancing on his fence in the morning.

I do not know about that. But guess what: if he had lived, he might have reconsidered and changed his mind.

It is not the first time science enabled Earth to do this. And each time science failed us and the survivors had to start the long climb up from the very bottom of the pit again.

As for the curing of illnesses: if science does such a good job, then why has nearly everyone some disease? It is only about half a per cent that is truly cured by science.

I believe....
And I've seen a few.
Just because science cant measure the energy doesnt mean it doesnt exist.
Science cant prove there's a God either, but many believe.......................

I don't believe in any of that stuff. The closest thing to supernatural belief and it's not a 100 percent belief but acknowledge the possibility of is Aliens.
UFO's I'm about 90 percent certain exist, either via the military(documentaries on the nazi ufo projects on google video), or a lesser chance the ufo's are alien devices, or maybe aliens and military copying them.

I will believe in the supernatural, the day I see it, or a "psychic" predicts something concrete before. My aunt claims to be psychic, LOL, and she makes a lot of predictions, so of course a few are going to be true, and she claims that is proof, okay. It's harmless, I guess.  Ghosts, well, if they exist I can't really see the point of them, they don't do anything, except blow wind, close doors(that is nice of them), and moan. Can't see the point in that.

But it would be fun to stay at a "supposed haunted house", and see a ghost. I'd love to be proved wrong.

I 100% believe in life on other planets; the umiverse is too big for it not to be a possibility. Not sure if they've been here though, most U.F.O reports can be disproved and I don't really think the governments of the world would cover the truth up.

One of the most exciting places in our solar system has to be Europa, a moon of Jupiter which, scientist think has a 10 mile deep sea underneath the ice. There may be all kinds of life in that water, most of it will probably be really basic, but there may be more complex stuff swimming about. And that's what I mean about life on other planets; not the intergalactic R.A.F version you read about sometimes.

As for the supernatural; I think there may be something in it, I'm not sure though.
