ORIGINAL: farmlandsub i recently heard a speaker talk about the nature of service, and he said that he believes there are three emotions that motivate one to serve. Fear Does one serve out of fear? Fear of losing ones Dom/Master? Fear of what She/He will do if one does not obey? Fear of having things with held? Duty/Devotion Does one feel she/he has to serve because it is ones duty/devotion? one only serves because it is expected? Love Or does one serve out of love for ones Dom/Master? Not necessarily a romantic love but a genuine love for the person? Does one serve because that service is how one shows their love and respect for ones Dom/Master? i'm just thinking out loud here. Does one serve for one of these three reasons? If so, which of the three? Or do you serve for an entirely different reason, or emotion, not included here? Why does Tiger Woods golf, or Venus and Serena Williams engage others in the sport of tennis? Taking monetary gain and celebrity reasons out of the equation, this slave would imagine that they have been trained and encouraged since childhood, by their parents and others, to submit to the training and the dicipline necessary to excel in those choices for their life...and they probably have a good amount of natural talent, as well. Why do folks enter into religious or spiritual service, i.e. priest, priestess, monk, Master Skip Chasey, etc.? this slave would imagine they feel internally compelled, even called to service by something they envision is bigger and more powerful than they are...that they submit to that something and enter into a life of training, service & discipline for the greater good of themselves and others. this slave chose this path of service for all of the reasons stated above that apply to Mr. Woods, the Williams sisters and Master Skip.
