I have felt the need not just the desire to serve from a young age..however my first real memories of understanding this was something more than being kind..was when I was nearly 16. Ever since then I have struggled within myself to understand just why I feel this way. Though one answer still eludes me I do understand it is something that was not taught ot brought upon me..but something I was born with. When I am serving One it brings my sense of living to a new level of passion and devotion unlike anything else that I have yet to experience. I serve because it helps me feel my sense of worth..it fills this one's heart with joy to simply please her Master in every way possible..and of course for the love of simply serving another..

It's not fear. I'm not afraid of Him or of Him leaving me. I'm not in love with Him.

It's not duty. I don't serve because I feel it's a duty. It's a choice that I've willingly made simply because it makes me happy. I feel fulfilled. To see someone else smile because of something that I've done without being asked makes me feel very good about myself and very proud of myself. I do these things for someone that I respect and adore and that makes me even happier to see someone I respect and adore smile because of me.

I guess i'll come out and admit my selfish reason for serving is instant gradification and I happen to be a praise whore lol

I serve because I respect and love my Master. His pleasure and happiness is my goal. I also have within me a deep ~need~ to submit, to serve. It is who and what I am. Could I submit to just anyone? Could I be just any man's slave? No way. It takes a certain sort to draw it out of me, and when I do not have it in my life I feel the empty / missing piece as keenly as I would feel the emptiness of no love.
