To a certain extent, BDSM realtionships begin as vanilla relationships.

You have to have that initial meeting, and it usually isn't a kinky one. So.
Considering the dynamics of that first step.

This is posed rhetorically. No response is called for.

A woman says to a man, "I'd like to get to know you first, have a few dates before
we have sex".

Is she being reasonable? Why or why not?

A man says to a woman, "I'd like to get to know you first, have sex a few times before we date".

Is he being reasonable? Why or why not?

Should her physical investment in sex be valued more than his investment of time, energy and money in dating?

If he has sex, and never sees her again, is he a bad person?

If she has a date (lets him invest his time, money and energy) and never sees him again, is she a bad person?

Again: no response is called for.  These are questions intended to provoke reflection, not a morass of public masturbation.  I'm not posting this to gain attention, just offering it for what it may be worth to you as a tool for self-examination. Please don't fu*k it up by posting your predictable rants in response.
It isn't important that others see what you think about this.  What's important is that you take a fresh look in the mirror. Thank you.

I am curious about the inflammatory tone of your subject title... is it really necessary? Is your opinion of the posters here that low?

The questions you pose are interesting.

I am thinking that the OPer is indeed a familiar face with a new name, and I am wondering if this poster realizes that his syntax is unmistakable and easily read by those who have been posting on his other thread.

How dare you impugn someone in such a way!

BTW do you remember my sig line on Wulfchyld?

Define "necessary".  Called for?  I think so. It's a bit of a chip on the shoulder, admittedly.  The implication is that people here do not actually read. That isn't my message. Rather, it is a CHALLENGE---- show me that you took more than 30 seconds to consider the issue before posting a flame in response.

Most people kid themselves that they are "open-minded", or have said
"I'm not STUPID, you know!" at one point.

Well......if you were stupid, would you be aware of it? Not necessarily.

I've been struck many times at the level of intolerance exhibited on kinky websites,
the cliques, the flames, the hijacking of threads, the harpies swooping to quash anything they deem "politically incorrect", the hypocrite/sychophant/shill "moderators" who are intensely dishonest and bigoted.  Pretty creepy, considering what we all should be striving for is MORE tolerance, not less.

Thanks for your feedback, despite the fact that I asked for NO FEEDBACK!

spanklette -> RE: Test to see if people can read..... (4/13/2007 6:58:14 PM)

Probably not...according to him, he's original...the only one who isn't a part of the flock. So, would he notice that he's showing normal flocking tendencies? Probably not.

But, I find the reappearance of this indivual and the fact that he is recognized a sign that I've probably spent a little too much time on the boards, of late.[8D]

If you want neither response nor feedback, I am confused as to why you are posting on a community forum that has replies enabled by default. If you simply want to throw questions out into the ether and make sure no one replies, you might try a blog with comments disabled.

Having followed a certain other thread, I understand what people are talking about when they speak about recognizing you. It's just too bad.

So, who is the bigger idiot, the person who doesn't know he is an idiot or the person being an idiot, or the idiot who doesn't know how smart he is, oh hell, we all know other than bush there is one other idiot at the "top"...

hisannabelle -> RE: Test to see if people can read..... (4/13/2007 7:07:35 PM)

greetings oarioch,

regardless of whether you are another face with a new name, or whether your chip bothers me...this is my take on the situation.

one of the reasons that i haven't been dating recently and that i don't like to date people is that it's very rare for me to be comfortable enough with someone to have sex on the first date, or the first few dates. the only successful dating experiences i've had since He and i got together were ones where i was comfortable enough to and did have sex on the first date or the first few dates. because of this, i've gotten very uncomfortable about dating in general and extremely gun shy.

i don't know if it's because of past trauma or what, but i have to be immediately comfortable physically with someone to do anything physical at first, otherwise i tend to have skin-crawly creeped out feelings. i've met really nice guys who i would have loved to date and/or have a relationship with, and they were probably never likely to do anything inappropriate, but i still couldn't shake that feeling.

there are plenty of people, male and female, who expect/enjoy having sex really quickly, and plenty who would like to wait and get to know the other person first. because of this, i don't think either way is necessarily reasonable or unreasonable; you have the right to date whomever you want, which means that if you want to fuck on the first date, date somebody who wants to fuck on the first date, too. i find the idea of boiling dating down to time/money/energy investment a little shallow, personally, but i understand why some people do it. invest in the kind of relationships you want. it has nothing to do with being reasonable or unreasonable...although if you meet someone and it's obvious they want to wait and you don't, i do think it's irresponsible to continue the involvement if that's going to bother you or if you are going to act like you're owed sex or something like that.

respectfully,
annabelle.

p.s. THIS IS A RESPONSE. this is feedback. why post a thread if you don't want it? all discussion is, is response. i know how i feel about this...why do i need to examine myself? why bother posting it if you don't want to hear opinions?

Quivver -> RE: Test to see if people can read..... (4/13/2007 7:26:41 PM)

A woman says to a man, "I'd like to buy my own coffee so you dont get confused I owe you anything".

Is she being reasonable? Why or why not?

A man says to a woman, "Its not very sub like of you to buy your own coffee are you sure your a submissive, but that's ok i'll fuck you anyways"?

Is he being reasonable? Why or why not?

Should her independance even if seen as reluctance lessen her value as a future submissive?

If she drinks her coffee and never sees him again, is she a bad submissive?

If he fucks her anyway is he still a master?

KnightofMists -> RE: Test to see if people can read..... (4/13/2007 7:26:45 PM)

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm this is just a moment to share a reflection... no comments are needed...

But doesn't it seem strange that a guy is judge negatively because he wants to bang a girl a few times .. you know test the fit and durability.

But a girl who wants to develop an emotional bond to ensure that there is a potential for growth and security to a fulifilling relationship is seen as positive.

mmmmmmmmm I just don't understand...

I just don't understand why a girl doesn't want test the fit too?  after all... why develop a strong emotional attachment and then find out that it doesn't fit.... my god... that could be a relationship crisis.

No Crisis at all KOM, if you've got my mind I can assure all the other fits will be made in Heaven.
edited to add, it's my mind that has fantasized the touch.
the actual touch feeds the mental not just the flesh.
if any old flesh would do there would be no need for a relationship at all.
