Laugh....I am a trainer for 911 police/fire/amb as well as volunteer incident commander for the fire dept in my town and paramedic.  Do you find you are an adrenalin junkie?  I find that working in constant chaos affects me as a submissive on different levels.

my current career is driving a semi truck long haul...i love my job, but something about sitting for such long periods without leaving the truck has atrophied the muscles i use for balance, so i have fallen a lot...in the last 3 years, i've been off work for over a year total for 2 bone fractures & it doesn't look like i will be going back to work anytime soon...so, i am in search of my next career...any suggestions???

How bizarre! When I saw your post, I had to come in here and see if your profile belonged to my ex-husband. He is both of those as well. :)

Oh yes...I even tell interviwers that i am an adrenaline junkie!  Nothing more fun that a pursuit or shots fired call!  (Provided it's not at your officers!)  For the most part, i've always had a great time, but here in Phoenix 3 years ago, i took a 911 call for a shooting, and not 1 minute later, got the shooter on the phone....he ended up killing 2 of our cops and wounding another, and another officer wrecked his car responding to the man down call.....definitely NOT one of my best nights!  What amaezed me he most is that the supervisor made me hang up the ONLY open line we had, because she determined it was too traumatic for me to listen to.....

I love the job, have trained probably 2 dozen plus people in it.....was a cop,got hurt, and dispatching was the next best thing.  Since i love it, it's not work at all.  Makes me very lucky!
