ICT security and systems architecture. Considering becoming a pdoc instead for the shorter hours and more rewarding work.

though other office workers look at me strangely when I tell them that whatever they think, what theyre doing isnt hard work. Shifting 120lb bags of cement in the hot sun by hand - thats hard work.

Depends on where you start out. When you spend your days with a few thousand pages of reference material in front of you, along with some poorly done specs from the management, trying to churn out a formal spec of a few hundred pages, I find it quite relaxing whenever I can do something purely physical and let my mind drift elsewhere. I'd imagine it would be the other way around if I started with manual labour.

Grass... other side... etc.

my current career is driving a semi truck long haul...i love my job, but something about sitting for such long periods without leaving the truck has atrophied the muscles i use for balance, so i have fallen a lot...in the last 3 years, i've been off work for over a year total for 2 bone fractures & it doesn't look like i will be going back to work anytime soon...so, i am in search of my next career...any suggestions???

Well, long story short, you pay, I play--music, writing, teaching---

However, I DO tend to work around the edges quite a bit... !
