Like I said, please reference a source that agrees with your opinion... like I did.

I am not attacking you, I am debating you, there is a big difference between the two. Please do not take this personal, because it just isn't personal to me. It only becomes personal when people name call, insult your family or relationships, or make unnecessarily crass comments. I have not done that to you. And I am extremely unlikely to.

You could start with "The True Believer," anything written about the Lieberman victory as an independant (do you think Harry Reid spits or swallows every morning?) or run along to MoveOn.org .   The radical Left is going to rip that party apart as soon as Bush stops being a focus of hate.

Using reality as a source again, Rich

Shame on you, you KNOW that doesn't count

I do not read MoveOn, why are you assuming things about my reading habits?

I have seen you reference in the past that there are only 20% of "True Believers" on the "left" (you know, those who want to end the war today). Half of those at least are not democrats at all. I thought liberalism is dead....hmmmm. You assertion is that the democrats have a large enough liberal base to destablize their chances. I do not think that 40% of the democratic party are militantly anything, but 40% of the republican party march to a"higher authority", and these voters were induced to vote because of the pro choice, pro gay, and womanizing Clinton scared them into it. Now that Clinton is gone, the right has had trouble refocusing that fear on any particular place. Even the war on terror has lost support as we have become mired in Iraq. Some of the Religious Right have begun to abandon supporting the war (like methodists for example, and some Baptists too).

You see, when the republicans pandered to the religious right, they won elections. Now they have scared away moderates, they have not done what they promised the religious right, and the religious right is poised to abandon ship.

Like I said, I am just going by the figures that you presented before as to how much of a minority we "peaceniks" are, even within the democrat party...Remember those threads which I posted about public opinion about pulling out of Iraq? You were adamant then that we peaceniks were very "fringe". Are you stating now that you were mistaken about that? That there are enough democrats on the fringe to destablize that Party? I can only hope!

Think about that... the Republicans and the Democrats actually paying attention to their core base while the rest of us go off and get representation somewhere else... and by core base I mean corporations.

Just try running your pro-war candidate Hillary Clinton, and we'll just have to see whose faithful where does what. You seem awfully confident in your razor thin majority win last time around... but you won't have the strawman Bush you devised over eight long years anymore. It's gonna be a whole new ball game, and I don't think you're going to like what happens next.

I think you have read my opinions on Hilary Clinton. I would never vote for her, so how can she be "My" candidate? I plan on voting Green next election unless there is a responsible person that was against this war that gets nominated by either party.

I was a Kucinich supporter that switched to Nader. I do not know how my ass got handed to me, I am not a democrat

Julia  i beleive Barack Obama voted against the war and he definitely is a candidate.  i hope you view him as responsible.

Obama did not vote against the war, he was not elected at the time of the Iraq Resolution

He also serves on the Veterans ’ Affairs Committee where he is focused on investigating the disability pay discrepancies that have left thousands of Illinois veterans without the benefits they earned. Senator Obama also serves on the Foreign Relations Committee.

I understand the confusion, many made the same mistake about Dean. I will say that it is hard to gauge someone;'s real feelings on the topic if they were not in the position to vote for it.

I wish Al Gore would run again. I could support him (at least at this time I could)

I wasn't assuming you did, Julia.  I suggested to look at it as an example of the cracks in the Democrat Party.  Another you could check out would be the wonderful "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail."  It's better than 30 years old, but very little has actually changed.

Cheese

Enough already

I take it that that means you have no evidence to support your conclusion that the Democrats are fragmented, and that you insist that the words Left and Democrat are synonyms.

Fair enough.

Peace out.
