My latest simple pleasure is the purchase and delight with a very dark chocolate bar. I recently bought one with a cocoa content of 86%, making it very dark and tasty. It is wonderful to sit, crack the bar, smell it's brown aroma, let it start to melt on my fingers, and let a quarter sized piece begin to warm up in my mouth, letting all the flavors seep out and into me....ahhhh.

a stormy day at the beach, wrapped in a blanket with that special someone, loving all the wind and waves crashing about, while cuddling picking strawberries in the field and just gorging on them right then and there a big ripe juicy peach a quiet day - no phones, no tv, no one needing/wanting anything - just a quiet day alone

being in my grandpas cabin in upper Michigan on a rainy day...the sound as in hits the roof its like heaven.

Walking my dog in the park across the street in the mornings.......we just returned.....we stop at the Fragrant Gardens.....you can smell the roses from one side, the tea olives from another, and the confederate jasmine on yet another. having alone time before everyone gets up, with my coffee and book out on the deck with the birds singing in the background and the morning sun on my face curling up beside my Grampa and listening while he reminisces

Closing my eyes. Playing in the rain. Cooking something beautiful and serving it to someone who appreciates it. Waking up slowly. Laughing. Feeling the warmth of the sunlight against my skin while I'm laying outside.

I buy those about once a week, the Lindt 85% cocoa bar is very low in sugar and tastes delicious.

going for a drive on one of the stunning days we get coming up to winter - blue sky, no clouds, me, my car and some great music very loud bubble baths - full of bubbles and with candles burning (I will sometimes amuse myself by making a bubble beard or giving myself a bubble marge simpson hairstyle) catching up with my best friend - he and I finish each others sentences and still laugh over silly things we did years ago (and the silly things we did last week)

The infectious laugh of a baby... A warm, sunny Saturday when I have nowhere to go and my house is totally clean... Watching my cat stretch out on the couch (as if he pays a bill around here)... Writing my poetry...or my stories without interruption, and feeling it flow like water... Reading or hearing something that it so funny it makes me snort when I laugh...

Turning off the lights, pulling down the shades and listening to the pitter patter of the rain against my window as I drift off, accompanied by my tortie kitty, to the Land of Nap. Now, if you'll excuse me, the pitter patter is calling.
