I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting. Sorry, but I'd rather live in a global hothouse than use the "army method"! Especially when with the drive to save water, washing that finger thoroughly may not be possible..... E

It's idiocy like this that have sent me screaming in the opposite direction from the greens. I despise the deforestation that goes on in my country, but for the right reasons: because of the wildlife and natural spaces displaced and destroyed so we can have another crappy subdivision. I will be the first to admit that the ecosystems threatened are a treasure trove of potential medicines and knowledge for the benefit of humanity, but this air argument is pure horseshit. Trees are responsible for producing the earth's oxygen about as much as Rosie O' Donnell's punch bowl of a head is responsible for keeping the moon orbiting around the earth: Both are significant enough to have an effect, but they are by no means the key ingredient. It's the phytoplankton that dwells on the surface of the ocean, which covers over 70% of the earth that's worth worrying about. That's our bread and butter.

I'd like to know how the number of squares used during bathroom visits can help when it comes to global warming. And what if people have different size bottoms? Fluffier people get two squares...itty bitty people get half? I'm cornfuzzled. [&o]

she is wrong. hemp- crops could be all the paper and cloth we need- fast. there are times when a paper plate-cup-flastic fork suit. say a snack. ya go $0.12 in products- but to use hot water, dish liqud- there is ur 12 cents. ecept NOW you saved time- and can clean thereby lessening risks of flies, ants, rodents.

YES hemp is part of a solution ,it was in ww2.cloth paper and ropes were made of it and not to mention the smoking possibilities .THE greenies are pissing me off as well..we all need to do our best for this good green earth,how ever ONE aq of tp is ridiculous..I will not give up my 3 squares of tp until they pry it from my cold dead hands smile..bounty

If she's so worried about it, she for starters could stop touring. She may be using biodiesel but it's still consuming resources. 1 mile of her trip touring used more resources than a roll of toilet paper, LOL. Hell, she could just jump in the nearest pond when she has to shit. And clean up that way. Or how about using a cloth, like old style diapers, and she could wash the shit cloth. She could even make a special purse with a ziploc pouch for storing the fouled cloth. LOL. Toilet Paper, I guess.

How would they regulate the one toilet paper per sitting anywho? Are they going to install camera's into bathrooms around the world to make sure everyone is complying with the one square usage? Plus, if we're going to drop to such a low usage........ why not just use none? Isnt that why people generally shake right handed (or is it left?) because once upon a time one hand was solely desginated for "bathroom use"?

I am considered a tree hugger by many, and I do like Sheryl Crow. While I can appreciate her concern, one square is a bit absurd, and I would not want the toilet paper police breaking down my door. The concept is silly, BUT in her defense... there are likely thousands of people around the world who may heed her advice for life, and perhaps many thousands of trees may be saved thanks to her words. Her thoughts were harmless to all of us, and may even help our trees as a result. Go Sheryl! I suggest buying bathroom tissue made with recycled paper... (No, it's not recycled (used) toilet paper).

....true story here. being that i take codieene pills- per my herniated disks- well about 6 mos ago...i took a few extra. my brother had upgraaded the toilet to those that use less water. anyhow- due to the codeine --i became blcoked up. well- when it finally came out it hurt. so there i am relieved. well- as it turned out- the whole bm clogged the tiolet. a plunger was of no use. so i had to call a plumber costs me $85. my buddy thot it was halarious- thats what you get when u indulge. LMAO!

We should be looking into hemp for many of the uses that require us to deforest the planet. If she had said that it would have made more sense
