When it comes to being friendly and welcoming to newbies, I think Collarme is about average. I first became a member just to meet some locals in my community, then hopped on the message boards to waste some time, lol. As the weather warms up and I get busier, I'll be spending less and less time in the forums. Message boards and online communication has always ended up being unsatisfying to me in the long run. Not because of all the flamers, the nasties or the "fakes", just because it's so one-dimensional. There are actually a lot of cool-seeming folks who post that I would love to meet, but the reality is that I don't have the time or money to invest. As a way of getting to know somebody, message boards only go so far. If I make one friend through posting here, then I'm happy. That being said.. CM forums are pretty much like any other message board I've been to. It's a bit racier and explicit at times, but you have the cliques, the handful of "Jokers", the longtime wise posting mavens, the endless "debates" over bizarre things, the dictionary quoters. It's a little funny when I see phrases like " toughen up", like the forums are just one Big Bad Mean Street or something, lol.
