Well fargle, you've got me convinced; contrary to any historical reference or legal standing.

Tonight would be a perfect night to stroll up to the White-house and demand entrance from your "bitch". The timing couldn't be any better in attendance is the current Queen of England and I'm sure she'll confirm your position.

btw - it's 'White-tie' so dress accordingly. Here's the menu as released by the office of the first lady:
___
Spring pea soup with fernleaf lavender
Chive pizzelle with American caviar
Newton Chardonnay Unfiltered 2004
___
Dover sole almondine
Roasted artichokes, pequillo peppers and olives
Saddle of spring lamb
Chanterelle sauce
Fricassee of baby vegetables
Peter Michael Les Pavots 2003
___
Arugula, Savannah mustard and mint romaine
Champagne dressing and trio of farmhouse cheeses
"Rose Blossoms"
Schramsberg Brut Rose 2004

There is an old saying, "Those who do not stand against, agree", which means that if you do not denounce the rape, torture and murder done in your name, then you sanction it.

When your soul is judged, will they find you did *everything* in your power to stop it?

Fargle, "denounce it?"
If it involves *al qeada* I want to do it myself!!!
"Fire up those blow torches!"
Kittensol, I guess you and I won't be meeting for conjugal reasons then.

PaHunk...I predict, within 2 screens this will turn into, at least in portion....an argument about what's wrong with America.

Nevertheless....what popped into my mind is...opportunity.

Of all the places on the entire planet...if you wanna start from less than dirt....this is the ONLY place on the planet where you have a realistic chance, if you give it your all...plus a little....you can end up owning the entire fucking planet (plus a little).

While the United States deprives a SINGLE PERSON of an unalienable right, without Due Process, there is nothing to celebrate.

If the US can just grab a Muslim of the street, send them offshore, then torture, rape and murder them, why not a Jew?

Being a Jew, that question is important to me.

And if a Muslim or Jew can be disappeared and tortured, why not ANYONE?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

I didn't even get to the first third of page two and they're already talking about what's fucked up in America!!!!

(Am I psychic....or what!!!???)

Fargle, are you trying to say that al qeada has the same rights as us?

Only if they qualify as human beings granted inalienable rights by their creator, popeye.

Sinergy

Fargle, Sinergy, ok then let's ship them all to Saudi Arabia and give them trials over there in a Muslim country.
They're Muslims right?
I'd be in favor of that.
They're going to get Military Tribunals if we let them stay in GTMO.
And all men are created equal.
But not all men get the benefits or rights that American citizens do.

That may very well be true Popeye...but a good cigar is still just a smoke.

What part of "All men are created equal, and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights", isn't totally clear.

The Founding Fathers were talking about the then "United States."

There was no United States in 1776. The US Constitution wasn't ratified until 1789.

That, my man, is an exceptional point!

However....what month and year was the very first Starbucks?

(Hmmmmmmmmmm?)

What I love about the USA is the Constitution and the Bill of Rights,
the freedoms of speech, religion and assembly.

I am always amazed at the people who come here from all over
the world as visitors and students and legal immigrants, adding
their perspectives and experiences to the cultural mosaic.

And I adore the amazing diversity of our natural wonders,
the mountains, rivers, lakes, plains, seashores, canyons,
deserts, volcanoes and glaciers.  And the beautiful flora
and fauna of our land fills me with great joy.

We have much to be thankful for and much to preserve and protect.

Amen!! I love this post. The cup is indeed 1/2 full- not 1/2 empty.

A person can re-invent themself- achieve dreams. this doesnt lessen greatness of other nations- I just was looking for a ray of light.

I hope to god- I am not bitter before it is time. Despite our problems- this land is truly blessed!

Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks... Especially after they wussed to the PC crowd and took the titties off of the Siren.

It's a very 'cucul la praline' menu. I can just see Mrs Bush's carplike lips gobble down the 'American caviar' (as if there were sturgeons around these parts lmao!)... and Baby Bush wonder whether to snort the fish eggs or not.

Aaaahh what a riot!

i ask what is great- gut reponse- and i get a homily against bush doctrine. bush is NOT America. Bush is a mistake. he is a lame duck worst president this country has ever had. BUT- that should not detract from the natural wonders of this very special land.

to cave in to a sermon over how awful america is- is- silly. get yo azz out a here- if ya dont like it.

pessimism is not what built this great nation. dreamers did.  the explorers who dared to go west.

the pessiimism is like a chained elephant. the elephant was so use to a chain, when he had no chain on him he probed no further then his set parameters.

I am greatful for a few of teh comments that mentioned a highjack.

the skies are often darkest just before the dawn.

I try to contribute.

Our menus run more towards Chilis, Pot Pies, Lasagne, Deviled Eggs, etc... You know, Pot Luck/Picnic foods.

And I keep 1400 Watts of PA system handy, so we have tunes for up to about 10 - 20 people.

Well, that I wouldn't know as I am not an aficionado of caviar....but we DO have sturgeon and fishing for them is quite popular here.

PaHunk, Steak and Barbequed Ribs!
And that's what they should be eating at the White House tonight!
"Hey Queenie! Would you please pass the Jelly!"
If I were President that's what I'd serve!
And Maine Lobster, Cajun Gumbo, all kinds of fish, salads with vegetables grown in this country and for desert, APPLE PIE of course with ice cream on top!
