No. I've been working off my past experience with friends who did a variety of sex worker jobs, vanilla sex workers who were private dommes, and the input in this thread. And the concpets involved, inculding sexuality and commerce.

Phew, probably a waste of space and all been said, but there's my $0.22 worth.

Vanilla sex workers not Pro Dommes..point made and thank you.

Copulo -> RE: Pro-stitute? (no flames please) (5/16/2007 4:40:37 AM)

What is the problem with all of this anyway?
Why worry about a name, a label? If we are comfortable in what we are then why would we worry about what other people think?
I never had sex with a client (or oral) but it really doesn’t bother me if some people want to call me a prostitute! I have enough self worth not to let a name bother me but even if I did have sex for money I would hopefully be as equally comfortable with that.
My partners business is dungeon equipment and his main line of work is fitting out professional women’s dungeons. Some of these women have sex and some don’t but weather they do or they don’t, they make enough money to afford an elaborate dungeon!
There is something for everyone. If a client wants sex then he can go to a Dominatrix that offers sex.

I know a few guys into the pro stuff but they do tend to get mostly male gay clients. Women will very seldom pay for a pro Masters services, at least in the UK

BoiJen -> RE: Pro-stitute? (no flames please) (5/16/2007 5:08:32 AM)

The issue for me and I don't know how it is for you over in the UK but in the US women who are considered prostitutes aer treated like shit. And that really gets on my last nerve. It's public knowledge that some men seem to think if a woman does "sex work" then they can do whatever they want so long as they leave a tip. Rape ensues and women get put in hospitals. Call it a cultural thing. Whatever. I just don't think it's cool to put a label on a woman who is a Pro Domme like whore and then treat her like shit. And that's what it comes down to for me.

Copulo -> RE: Pro-stitute? (no flames please) (5/16/2007 5:19:04 AM)

Yes I understand and its nice to see someone defending our corner but at the end of the day it’s their issues and if they cant get over themselves then there is no point trying to persuade them otherwise.

I have had neighbours throw scorn at me or avoid me like the plague! Does it bother me? Not at all because its jut ignorance on their part and I don’t have time for ignorant people. If you let things bother you then it will control you.

I would worry much more about a woman that sleeps with everyone and anyone because she doesn’t know how to say no, than someone who has a good business head and makes some decent money out of it. Lets face it, a lot of guys would be doing this if they could!!!

Because people let a label define them instead of defining themselves. The minute you say that a pro-dom is the same as a whore they automaticly think that you're belittling them when infact you haven't. As Dark said, words are only that. It is those that take it as an insult that give those words power over them.

Copulo -> RE: Pro-stitute? (no flames please) (5/16/2007 5:50:36 AM)

Agrees with MrDicipline

So why didn’t I throw sex in when I was pro Mistressing?
Because I had a high risk of catching an STD
Because I was with a full time partner and that was always part of the agreement.
Because I just couldn’t bring myself to have sex with someone who did not turn me on and lets face it, most clients don’t!
When you pro Mistress you get a phone call. Your secretary usually answers and makes a booking. You have a quick briefing into what this guy wants and then he turns up and you do the business. He could be the most revolting looking man on this planet but you don’t turn round and say, ‘sorry mate but your just too ugly’. The same goes for Mistresses that have sex. They do not turn clients away based on looks.
So my last reason for not having sex with clients is
Because Im not that good an actress that I could pretend to be enjoying sex with Quasimodo.

Now if I had of had sex with clients would I of been disrespecting myself? Of course not. But like I said in a previous post, I would be disrespecting myself if I did it for no money because I didn’t have the ability to say no. I would rather be a whore than an uncontrollable slut.

Wow the overgeneralizations keep rolling in.

It cannot be denied that prostitutes and whores are very much put upon and we aren't treated very well in general or as a respectable profession as we should- but plenty of people understand, appreciate, and support whores and prostitutes.

Of course it's funny how people in the scene are rarely supportive of prostitutes and whores themselves- they are very vanilla in their thinking about sex.

chiaThePet -> RE: Pro-stitute? (no flames please) (5/16/2007 9:17:28 AM)

aftermath. Here we go, subs take your postitions, no not there, over there,

Check out the site for Secret Limits...you'll find that not only that Pro Dom males exist so do pro subs.

Pro subs too?  Heavens! What will they think of next?

As for all of my info. When was the last time you sat down to lunch or breakfast with a Pro and dicussed what it is they do and why? Or is all of this conjecture on your part? Cuz I been doin that on and off the entire time of this forum with several different Pros.

Kiddo, I've been doing that for nearly as long as you've been alive.  Before it stopped being fun and I got tired of the flakes, I used to pay the bills making websites, leather gear and toys for pros.

Age and experience are not equivalent. And I see a tad bit of bitterness at that stopped being fun thing. And that's on you. Don't take it out on other people. Espically the people who were the reason you had bread and butter...according to you that is.

PrincessEllie -> RE: Pro-stitute? (no flames please) (5/16/2007 1:34:18 PM)

One of the glaring differences I can spot is this...
Escorts ask for money, when Dom/mes usually ask for items. It's a sign of appreciation, not 'paying for their service.'

Prosecutors and juries place a lot of stock in labels as well...

Zounds!  You're right!

Strangely enough, I never claimed they were.

You're seeing things that aren't there.  Again.  And that's on you.  Is there a particular reason you're taking my discussion with Jen so personally?

You seem confiused, I'm not taking anything out on anyone.  She asked a question and I answered it.  If you feel that warrants busting your forum cherry so you can gallop in on your sturdy white charger in order to come to her completely unnecessary defense, that's on you too.

Lighten up, Francis.

pinksugarsub -> RE: Pro-stitute? (no flames please) (5/16/2007 2:32:07 PM)

Prostitution is generally the exchange of sexual favors for money.  Merely agreeing to meet s'one is not a sexual favor.

That said, i pity those dumb enough to pay anyone to meet them....but then i have been at $500 a plate dinners for the Republican Party.........before the Shrub.

LightHeartedMaam -> RE: Pro-stitute? (no flames please) (5/16/2007 6:46:22 PM)

(fast reply)

Does ANYONE go to a domme (pro or not) and it IS NOT a sexual turn on for them?

They can call what they do, and who they do, Venti for the big size and Tall for the small size if they want.

I am not doing them.  They are not doing me.  I simply dont care one way or the other.  As Eldritchdancer pointed out, "Their minds, their bodies, I do not judge."

If there is personal gain in it....well, you must have been reading a Velvet Jones self help book.  There is no difference.
