On another note - you can't always depend on map quest. i was in another state on my way to an interview and when i got to the end of the direction for their map  it was a dead end street with a forest in front of me.  Map quest is only as good as the updates it recieves if they change the roads.

Sorry, but i would have to think twice about meeting someone who is going to get so upset if i ask for directions. It's not really that difficult a request and some people have trouble with map quest and others like it.

There is nothing wrong with asking for directions. However, taking the time to look up the directions shows an ability to think for yourself, initiative, and web-savvy. All of which are traits that tend to be pleasantly viewed by dominas like myself.

I can't say it any better.

Wasn't your post a complete value judgement based on your personal pet peeve?

What I said was that something irritates me. I didn't say that anyone who asked for directions was better or worse than anyone else. I didn't say anyone was worthless. I just said it drives me nuts.

quote:

Oh the humanity! What's the big deal about asking for directions, and what's
the big deal about giving them?

I've explained in the thread, but I'll use little words for you. I don't mind giving directions. However, I do like it when someone shows initiative and looks it up first, asking for my directions to supplement. It is irritating when they do not show that initiative first, but I have never hesitated in giving directions when I'm asked for them.

quote:

But the "something" by which they are irratated can sure make them sound like a spoiled little brat.

Obviously you think having a pet peeve makes you a spoiled brat. Or rather, sharing it with others. Actually, I think it is more a matter of people thinking this is a little thing (it is) and thinking I have some HUGE problem with it (I don't).

quote:

Oh really? i give you your own words regarding others opinions;

You didn't like my opinions and I didn't like being called entitled and spoiled. However my comment was based on more than just one comment from her.

You should learn to read. If you weren't so petty and nasty for no reason, people might be more willing to get to know you in person.

Wow, personal insult zing #1.

Direct response to your personal insult. After repeated implied insults from you, for some reason, on threads I have participated in.

quote:

You should at least try and make it be relevant like "If you had some sense of direction, maybe you'd be able to see you just crash landed in loserville" or actually true like "If you were as open offline as you are online, maybe you'd have more friends."

I don't know about your sense of direction and don't think not having a sense of direction is something to insult someone about. I have no idea how open you are online or offline, and honestly don't care very much. I believe that saying you are petty IS relevant based on what I know of you from personal encounters in person, references, journal reading, and posting on collarme.com. Calling me spoiled for having a pet peeve is just an example.

quote:

But this is just irrelevant, and completely false, so it loses all desired impact.  I know you can do better Elorin.

I disagree. If you'd like to know why feel free to e-mail me. I think calling me entitled and spoiled is both nasty and petty. ~shrugs~

quote:

Well that's not what I meant by entitled.  Entitled in the way that a patron to a restaurant gets annoyed when they don't get a seat right away on a Sat night with no reservation.

I understood the use of entitled, and changed the meaning intentionally. Yes, I am entitled to want someone who is trying to impress me and start a relationship with me to make an effort and use initiative.

quote:

I also specifically said that we all have our quirks and pet peeves and it's no big deal.  Maybe you didn't read that?

Well yes, we do...but you said that after the name calling, now didn't you?

quote:

It's the opinion, not having the opinion.  Spoiled IMO should be earned. :)

If you understood the opinion, I might find the reference relevant.
Unfortunately I got the impression from you and many other posters here that the opinion was "people who ask for directions are stupid/less than other people/worthless".
It was more of a specific example of the general opinion that "subs who are trying to impress me but then are lazy are irritating".

Elorin:

[I've explained in the thread, but I'll use little words for you.]

chia* pet:

There are no little words, only little people.

Dear Elorin, i simply stand (or kneel, Dommes' choice) by my last post
to you, which honestly pointed out the inconsistency in that which you
now say, in retrospect to that which your OP previously said. It is what
it is, laid plain for all to see. i am sure by now, all the submissives will
do their best to find you on their own, Mapquest, Yahoo Maps, Street
Maps, City Maps, State Maps, Google, Aol Search, Rand McNally,
GPS, PC Miler, Road Atlas, Thomas Brothers Map Book, A Sun Dial,
The Constellations, A Compass, A Girl Scout Troop, Blood Hounds,
A Bounty Hunter, A Detective, The Police, The FBI, The CIA, anything
but "Dearest Mistress, could you please inform me of the most efficent route
by which to reach You, that my Worship of You might begin with haste?"

As much fun as i have had playing "badboy badminton" with your OP, i really
am just a playful pet with no real harm in his heart. In fact, if you would like
to personally discipline my mischief, i would be more than happy to oblige.

i'll just need some directions in how best to find you. :)

With Love and Respect, chia* (the pet)
