Status: offline 		This is such a load of doo-doo....These "kids" might have gone to high school together...If they are so concerned about the possible fraternizations between kids of certain ages than it would only make sense for the backwards state of Georgia to not allow them to occupy the same space and create seperate schools for these kids.....

Why stop there?
The only way to protect our precious progeny is to turn them over to 'nanny' from day one. Obviously many belief the State knows better anyway. This way, in one generation, we'll have a totally 'PC' society as intended by the laws and regulations currently in place but obviously not effective.

Exactly!...This thread reminds me of others....Say abortion, for instance....People seem to so quickly forget what it was like to be young....and try to place the morality of a 45 year old unto that of someone who is 17.....The Union should flush the whole state...Oooops, what about Michael?....Actually he might be ready to welcome the sweet release of death.

Status: offline 		Every state seems to have its own take on this age of consent thing.  In my state 16 is legal, 15 is not.  If the age difference is also at least three years, its good for 4 years to life instead of 2 years to life.  Still a felony, even if one is 15 and the other is 16.  Presumably, its a felony for both if both are under 16, although its up to the prosecutor to decide whether to prosecute anyone under 18 as an adult or as a juvenile, in which case the penalty can be minimal.  It is also a defense that the person reasonably believed that the "victim" was over 16.

The person who took the video would have been in line for the 4-year minimum penalty, for "sexual abuse of children".

So, now the kid has served two years, the law has changed, everyone but the prosecutor seems to think he should get out.  We've seen pictures of the kid.  He is black.  Was the girl black, or white?  Seems to me this is something that matters in certain places.  Georgia is probably one of those places.

Status: offline 		the Great State of California was one of the first states to raise the age of consent. It raised it from ten to fourteen in 1889 and then from fourteen to sixteen in 1897. Then, in 1913, California again raised it from sixteen to eighteen.
 
On a related note, California minors of ANY age can consent to medical treatment of pregnancy, obtain contraception and consent to an abortion, with the health care provider under strict rules NOT to inform parents without the minor's consent.

Funny how no one says anything about punishing the girl for lying about being raped.

since i am 18 this could.. effect me if i do something with a underage. highly unlikly but u never know.

i believe that he was wrong to have it taped, yes, i believe he was wrong in having her do it, yes. but i do not believe that he deserved however many years in jail because he got a bj from a girl of 15. considering that if they had "gone all the way" hed only have gotten 1 yeah i think it is. the US judicial system is so fucked up that the lil things get more punishment then the big things. if ur going to punish a 17 year old guy for getting head from a 15 year old.. what about the 15 year olds that fuck other 15 year olds? what do u do with them?? and y dont u teach kid, wether they r yours or not, some commen sense and how to deal with there sex drives.

ok.. that venting is done.. on to more.

and it said she was drunk.. do u see anything about her being an underage drinker? OF COURSE NOT. this country is so fucked up that i cant believe more ppl havent tried to blow us up (i am not a terrorist thank u). and she lied about being raped.. she should have to be punished as well.. she did lie about being raped.

I personally remember getting drunk and sucking  guys off (not LOTS of them...but one or two)  I did lots of stupid shit and I hung out with those who did even more stupid shit than I did.  But it doesn't mean we give the message that doing stupid shit is acceptable because it's part of being a teen.  
The fact that this kid did jail time when it was proven that there was no rape is a complete travesty.  But at the very least the whole lot of them should have received a slap on the wrist for the underage drinking.  I mean we cant say its ok because they're teens.  One of them probably got behind the wheel of a car that night.  

Ok Im done being serious now. 

Im off to see if the Goreans are mad at me yet over there.

No i woulda been all over the "young man". without going into too many details, there had been a possibility of something like that happening because my ex-wife had her brother living in the home and he had a juvie rap sheet for perping on kids. luckily enough nothing did happen. when it comes to my kids, i am like rabid pitbull

My question is this, if it were your daughter that  video taped herself giving a blow job to a young man she was older than him, would you support her being arrested and incarcerated? Or is it only young males held to this standard in your mind?


at the risk of seeming harsh, yes. if she did the crime, do the time. it is how i was raised, and i think i turned fairly decent. so if i hold myself to that standard, she should be held to it as well
