Not the BDSM stuff.  I suppose some of my friends could handle it but I certainly couldn't see sharing it with my family.

"Hey Ma!  Could you proof read this kinky, perverted, sex story I wrote?"

I suppose I should just buckle down and finish one, then submit it to an appropriate web site.  I think CM should have a story section but I suppose they would get overwhelmed by a lot of crappy writing.

I must say it is gratifying to have finally started a thread that goes over two pages and I want to thank everyone who responded.

In my best Dr. Zoidberg voice, "Hooray! People like me!"

Well, let’s see if I can keep this going to at least seven pages.

First, I want to ask again if anybody has any ideas about what will become of Percy. Will he be reconciled to his family and help them fight the good fight? Or will his ambitions make him obstinate and drive him down the dark path? I’m hoping for reconciliation.

As for who is going to die, I think we can expect to see at least one major adult character, someone like Professor McGonagle or Hagrid, and one of the student characters. But I don’t think J.K. will have the heart to kill off Hermionie or Ron. My guess is Luna Lovegood. I think that’s why she was brought into the narrative in the first place, so we’d get a chance to know her (we never really got to know Cedric) and care about her before she gets bumped off.

I also think there is a good chance of Neville going down heroically. He’s not really a bad wizard, he just lacks confidence. But in the presence of the LeStrange’s, well... It has been said that a hero is just someone who's so pissed off that they don't give a shit anymore.

I'm sure it'll hit page 7 at least, Marc, there are plenty of HP fans. Hell, imagine when the book comes out, things will really be popping.

Part of me hopes Percy will get a good dose of Karma right in the ass. I hope for reconciliation, yet, part of me, thinks he may be so blinded by his 'loyality' to the Ministry of Magic, that in the end, that will be his demise. Remember, the Ministry is ALWAYS right, never wrong, he is a brown noser. I do hope he can make up with his family, yet, as for it happening, I think it would take an AOG [act of GOD] for that to happen.

I don't want Neville to die, yet if he must die,  I want him to take Snape out first. That would be incredible. It would teach Snape a lesson for being an a**hole to him all those years.

If any of the adults are going to die, I almost wonder if it will be Lupin, Hagrid or even Mr. Weasley. Those 3 men have been VERY major influences in Harry's life and have protected him and guided him; Harry lost Siris, and Dumbledore, who were both male role-models/father tyep figures, so it would not surprise me if one of those 3 died, heroically of course, protecting Harry or any of the other kids.

When book 7 comes out, we need a NEW thread, so people who haven't read it or finished it can talk. Its only polite. No use in spoiling it or those who have not finished or who have nto gotten their copy.

As for 7 pages, heck, we can easilu do that. We are all theorisits. By the time the 5th movie comes out and people have seen it, we will be up to at least 10 pages; that movie will be a bit of an indication as to what may happen in book 7. Remember, JK, supervises the movies, so you never know, she may have put a few subtle hints in that as to what happens in 7.

From what I understand, when she screened Prisoner of Azkaban, Rowling was surprised to see that Alfonso Cuarón had "inadvertently foreshadowed events that will happen in books six and seven"

I have to admit that even after seeing PoA several times and reading Half Blood Prince, I still don't know what any of those events might have been.

For you Potterites:

"Call it the curse of Hogwarts. It turns out that — at least for some in the wizarding world — it's tough to make money out of magic. Harry Potter has fans clamoring in excitement as the seventh and last book in J.K. Rowling's hit series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, lands worldwide on July 21. With the fifth movie due out in weeks and the recent announcement of an Orlando theme-park attraction that could cost half a billion dollars, Pottermania is at an all-time high.

"But what should be a pot of gold for Harry's business partners is turning into an empty cauldron for many of them. The most successful literary brand in recent history has made its author a billionaire, but others have not fared so well. Retailers, spellbound by the chance to reach millions of Potter-obsessed customers, are cost-cutting for market share to the point where many stand to lose money. For book publishers, the tsunami distorts results in Potter release years, creating wild share-price swings and a distraction from other parts of the business. Even Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., which has made billions off the Harry Potter movies, saw sales and profits drop last year and in the first quarter without a fresh Potter offering in the mix..."

As much as I don't want it to happen, I think Percy will be a casualty in the war against Voldemort. He'll somehow get caught up in it, and maybe, trying to save one of the other Weaslys, will be killed. But I certainly hope he reconciles with his family, though I doubt it. Even after the truth about Voldemort came out, he still was very standoffish with them. But we'll see.

Hagrid is going to die. I don't know about the student characters. Probably not Luna. She played a big part in OoTP, and a minor part in HBP.  It's going to be Draco. Whether it's someone of Voldemort's clan, on purpose; or Dumbledore's clan, on accident.

Neville isn't going to die. What I think is going to happen to Neville is he's going to come face to face with  Bellatrix Lestrange.  I don't know what's going to happen out of that duel, but I certainly hope Neville comes out the victor. Remember, as Neville gets older, he gets more and more brave, and his powers seem to be flourishing.

In the scene in which Lupin transforms into a wherewolf, there is a substantial difference between book and movie. In the movie, Snape steps in front of the trio to protect them.
This might well mirror something that is going to happen at the "final battle".

He’s got it coming! I’m inclined to think that he’ll wake up to what an ass he is being and come back to his family at a critical moment. I think the main reason I want to see him come back is because I like his mother so much – I don’t want to see suffer such a loss.

I have no problem with that. People read at different paces, after all. Also, not everyone will be able to get it right away. As for me, Amazon kept it’s promise to deliver the last to books to me on the day they were released and I’m confident they’ll come through again. I expect the mail lady will be dropping it on my doorstep sometime between noon and one. The wine will already be chilled. Last time the poor mail lady was bent over from the weight of all those books and she was kind of snarly about it. She grumbled something about "damned Potterheads."

ManInTheBox -> RE: One Month to Harry Potter, Book Seven! (6/24/2007 6:04:23 PM)

If Hagrid dies it won't be from a spell...in the end of the HBP he chased Snape shouting all him and they were shooting spells back at him and they just kept bouncing off because he is half giant and I would imagine they would have used the Avanda Kadabra. If Neville met Bellatrix Lestrange that would be great, it just hasta happen :) Like I said before I don't think Cedric is dead...I read someone that in this book two main characters die (whether it counts Voldemort I dunno) and one gets "a reprieve." She stated Dumbledore won't pull a "Gandalf" so he won't be coming back. At the end of the OOTP Luna gave Harry that huge speech about the mirror Sirius fell in and that he could still talk to him (of something to that effect) so we'll see Sirius again. Plus I still am curious to hear why Dumbledore had James' Invisability Cloak and what he really saw in the Mirror of Erised. I don't have any theories on that right now...the Order of the Phoenix comes out on my Birthday :D lol

litleone8620 -> RE: One Month to Harry Potter, Book Seven! (6/24/2007 9:39:12 PM)

The Mirror of the Erised is going to come into major play in book 7. I just haven't figured out how yet.

As much as I want it to happen, Dumbledore isn't going to come back. He'll be around in the pictures in the Headmaster's office, just like all the previous headmasters, but other than that, he's gone.

Sirius is still around. I refuse to believe he is dead until a body shows up.

Oh, and I've been meaning to mention the movie. I'm a little worreid about OoTP. They've turned the longest book into the shortest movie. I'm still gonna see it, but I don't have high expectations. Though I've seen the trailers and it looks pretty good.

WHAT???? The book is almost 900 pages, the movie has to at LEAST be 2 hours to get everything 'important' in. I'm gonna see it, and start looking for the stuff they missed. The previews look incredible though. The 5th book is one of the strongest books, it also starts to bring things to that climax for book 7, where where it IS Harry verses LV.

As for Siris's body, I can only hope he comes back, he was like a father to Harry and he gave guidance; dumbeldore can still give guidance since the pictures DO talk, so Harry won't completly be without him. I think we will see Harry lean on the Weasleys more than he has in the past, all of them [Percy is still up in the air though]. Harry has the Weasley, Hagrid, Aunt Petunia {yep, I'm betting on her to do something incredible and outside of what we 'know' of her in book 7}, [Now] Head Mistress McGonagall, his great friends and the Order of the Phoenix, and since book 6, everyone else FINALLY [sorta] wakes up that LV IS back, he may find support in other witches and wizards to defeat the Death Eaters.

Yeah, I was reading an article in Entertainment Weekly, I think. They had an interview with the producers and all them. They said OoTP is going to be about an hour and a half.  I know for sure one scene that isn't in the movie that was in the book.

The entire scene where Harry sees Neville with his parents in St. Mungos is gone.

And yes the trailers look awesome. OOTP is my favorite book so far. Number 6 would be my favorite, if it hadn't been for 'the ugliness'

That is such a POWERFULL scene in the book. You see a different side to Neville and you get a new appreciation for all that he has overcome. :P on the screenwriters and director.

DON'T CLICK THIS LINK IF YOU WANT TO BE SURPRISED BY BOOK 7

http://seclists.org/misc/harrypotterspoilers.html

news blurb :
The hacker, who goes by the name "Gabriel," claims to have taken a digital copy of author J.K. Rowling's seventh and final book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," by breaking into a computer at London-based Bloomsbury Publishing Plc.
For months now, leading up to the book's July 21 release, legions of "Harry Potter" fans have debated whether Rowling killed Harry or one of his best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, in the final book.
Gabriel has posted information at Web site InSecure.org that, if true, would answer that question.
"We make this spoiler to make reading of the upcoming book useless and boring," Gabriel said in the posting.
"Harry Potter" publishers have taken great pains to keep the conclusion a secret and preserve the multibillion-dollar entertainment enterprise surrounding the boy wizard.
A Bloomsbury spokesman declined comment on the hacker's claims.
Kyle Good, a spokesman for U.S. distributor Scholastic Corp., would not say whether the posting was accurate, but did warn readers to be skeptical about anything on the Web that claims to have inside information on the book's plot.
"There is a whole lot of junk flying around," she said. "Consider this one more theory."
David Perry, a spokesman for computer security company Trend Micro, said there was a good chance Gabriel's claim could be a hoax. "We've had hypes like this on the last couple of Harry Potter books," he said. "There is a very high level of spurious information in the hacker world."
But if true, it could be a problem for Bloomsbury. The "Harry Potter" books have been global best-sellers with fans buying some 320 million versions worldwide, and anticipation for "Deathly Hallows" is high.
In April, U.S. retailer Barnes & Noble said advance orders for the book had already topped 500,000 copies, setting a chain record. Scholastic plans to release a record 12 million copies of "Deathly Hallows" to meet demand.
A stolen copy of the sixth Harry Potter novel, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" surfaced in Britain about a month before its official release in July 2005. Two people were charged after reportedly trying to sell a copy to the London tabloid the Sun.

I think he will end up dead. He is naive and easily influanced. Also the Ministry is never wrong, remember?

I dunno....she killed off Dumbledore. Never would have seen that coming. Maybe Hagrid will do a suicide. Also Luna is strange and quick to embrace the unusual....JK may need that later on in DH.

What I wonder about is...if Neville is a poor wizard, could it be because he was usuing a wand that wasn't his? If the wand chooses the wizard, why wouldn't Gran get him his own...especially in his O.W.L. year? As far as the Lestranges go, I wouldn't be surprised if Neville died taking them out.
