Who wants to go to a park based on the book where the lead character is dead at the end? Plus...I think it would kill the sales of the last two movies, and the continuing sales of all the other Harry Potter books to future readers. I think that there will still be unanswered questions, things not neatly tied up at the end, but I can't see Harry dying.

Excellent point. Harry Potter is entertainment and entertainment is a business.

I would love if when Voldemort went to kill Harry and couldn't that he made Harry a Horcrux. Otherwise I do think Diggory comes back in this book. Dumbledore could obviously help from his picture and Sirius is also gonna be involved somehow (or should) I've been thinking about who could die though and personally I think it's Hermione and Hagrid.

BitaTruble -> Order Deathly Hallows now for 7/21 delivery (7/15/2007 11:18:06 PM)

Just an FYI for those who aren't prepared to stand in line among throngs of bodies waiting for their Deathly Hallows. July 16th is the last day you can order for 7/21 delivery via Barnes & Noble. Online price is $20.99 for members (I think non-members was two dollars less) and $3.99 for shipping plus applicable sales tax. I just ordered my grandson his own copy since his mother said he couldn't read it until she was through and she's waaaaaaay slow with her work schedule.

Celeste

PS: I'm not affiliated with B&N in anyway. I just happen to have a gift card so found this out today when I ordered. Other chains may offer similar deals.

Ever since finishing book 6, I have thought that either Dumbledore is not dead, or that Snape's killing him was part of some plan of Dumbledore's, and that Dumbledore will be resurrected somehow, possibly with help of the phoenix, in book 7.

I have a hard time seeing Snape as a villain, because after his attack on Dumbledore he had ample opportunity to attack Harry as well. Instead of capitalizing on this, he used defensive magic only while escaping.

As for who dies in book 7, I'm betting on Hermione and Hagrid.

In re-reading Half-Blood Prince prior to Deathly Hallows coming out, I had a thought about why Dumbledore was so insistent that Snape could be trusted.  I wonder if Snape had taken an unbreakable vow when he came to Dumbledore... perhaps vowing to fight against Voldemort?

I'd not thought of that.  Whatever the reason for Dumbledore's trust of Snape I remain convinced it will be key.

Time to make predications on the "big" questions..

1. Does Harry live, yes or no?
2. Is Snape good or bad?
3. Is Harry a Horcrux (am I the only one who wants to do a Beavis and Butthead imitation every time you say that word), accidental or otherwise?
4. Does Percy reconcile with his family?
5. Does Neville get to put the smack down on Bellatrix Lestrange?
6. Who dies (other than Harry if you already think he’s going to bite it)?

My answers:

1. Yes.
2. Good
3. Yes.
4. Yes.
5. Yes.
6. Percy and Hagrid.

My predication for the climatic scene: Harry is indeed an accidental horcrux. At a crucial moment Harry will have to decide whether or not to trust Snape. Despite his every instinct against it, Harry will put his trust in Dumbledore by trusting Snape. Snape will then perform a spell (perhaps a potion to drink? "Trust me, Potter, drink this") that will draw the piece of Voldermort’s soul out of Harry and into Snape himself. Snape will then sacrifice himself, destroying the final horcrux (which is now himself) and leaving Voldermort to Harry. Harry will have one more choice to make. He’ll have to anser the age old question – if good adopts evil’s methods in the fight against evil, is good still good? Considering what is at stake, and all the harm, all the pain, that Voldermort has already caused, Harry will decide that, yes, sometimes, ya gotta do it. Harry then dispatches Volermort once and for all with the death curse.

1. Since Ms. Rowling wants to live I say yes. Not going to be shocked if Harry dies though, it's what I would have done in her place.
2. Both.
3. Yes
4. No
5. Yes
6. Hermione, Ginny Weasley and either Snape or Draco Malfoy.

Okay, now that the end is near, it is time to take our NEWTS:
http://noctua.freeshell.org/hp-trivia-2.php

Now go and see how well you really know Harry Potter.

I got 87/95 in 13 minutes. Not bad, I would say.

(NEWT light score for those who do not own the two additional books and discount the first 7 questions is a max of 88)

The more I think about, the more I think Harry is not a Horcrux. Dumbledore talks about how pure and loving Harry is, and it's hard to imagine he'd be that way with a bit of Voldemort's soul stuck inside him.

I just saw it on a bittorrent tracker as a pdf.

1. Does Harry live, yes or no? Yes

2. Is Snape good or bad? Well, I'll never consider him good, 'cause he's such a bully to his students, but I suspect he winds up on the right side in the end.

3. Is Harry a Horcrux, accidental or otherwise? No. If he were carrying a piece of Voldemort's soul around, it would have shown up by now. It's hard to imagine Dumbledore's not detecting it.

4. Does Percy reconcile with his family? No

5. Does Neville get to put the smack down on Bellatrix Lestrange? Yes

6. Who dies (other than Harry if you already think he’s going to bite it)? Neville and Snape
