ORIGINAL: Alumbrado and the head shot comment works better in Hollywood than in reality So training and policy dictate taking cover until things can be changed.., and the threat can be neutralized which is exactly what these officers did. well you just made my point. as a kid i used to get my kicks shooting sparrows out of the air with a 22. laugh but watch a sparrow fly sometimes. maybe comparing the abilities of my untrained self to trained police is a bad example. i sort of doubt these guys would even see a shooter perched 100 yards away while others are popping 9mil rounds randomly at them. a head shot at 100 yards is like having the braod side of a barn for a target. that is simply not hollywood in this case... sorry. Well, tough guy,....how well would you`ve done, if the sparrows were shooting 22 longs back at you?I think you`d poop your pants, run and hide. Anyone who viewed that vid of the battle, could see that the police were making hits, but these guys were armoured and armed with full auto Russian assalt rifles. The mussle blast from an AK-47 is frightning at semi-auto.I couldn`t imagine being on the wrong end of one going full-auto.Or two, on full auto... These armchair worriors, pfuuuaaawww!Maybe chicken hawks, would be a better term. This mentality, is why were bogged down in Vietnam,...errrrrrr,ummm ,I mean Iraq.Arrogant know-nothings(like bush/chaney) talking as if they knew better then the men doing the fighting. I mean this in a general way,and towards no one personally. Peace
