Because we don't see any reason to.  It's not really anyones business who he is, only who I am (or atleast what I choose for others to know about me).

You know Dog, I've often wondered the same thing requardless of calling or gender.  Then again like Celeste's case what's it matter if none of us know them or not.   ~hummm~

1. They simply may not want to.
2. Their dom may not want them to.
3. Mentioning a dom by name may be completely irrelevant to them. Simply stating they are owned may be enough for them.

I wonder why you ask this?

Could it because some people don't use scene names but don't want their real names on the internet?

Valyraen and Aqua are the closest things we have to scene names and we only use them on the internet. So when he wasn't on collarme I didn't give a name. There wasn't any point. It's not like the random people looking at my profile needed to know and if anyone wanted to contact him, I would happily give them his e-mail address.

Most because my profile is my profile and his profile is his profile.  He will come out when he chooses to who he chooses.  If we had a "couples" profile, we'd list us both.

My slant, I am proud to own kali, and have no reason to not let everybody it. So my profile and hers state it. Nothing to hide, not married to someone else, attempting to search without her being cognizant(others would quiclkly see my name or hers on the profile), currently president of the planet :), or whatever.

I ask for a myriad of reasons, and will expand as replies continue.

Yup - pretty much how we work - although I am changing colour I think - because some can't tell the difference.

It isn't necessarily a matter of having something to hide . Why would I have his name here when he doesn't even visit this site?
It's enough to say that I belong to someone, or it should be.

Why would you assume that these people have something to hide? That doesn't make sense. If you don't want to have a scene name or be on collarme, why does your sub have to put some name up there instead of just saying she is owned? Obviously, I wasn't about to put Valyraen's real name on my profile and we really don't believe in scene names. If you meet us in real life, you will learn our real names. If he had never joined it would still only say "I'm owned".

I don't even use my real name on here so why would it matter what his name is?

the Overlord is no longer on this site, except when i suggest he look at some email i have received...besides, the Overlord, Master & the Masterly Overload & any other variations are what i call him...i don't use his name, even when i'm thinking about him....

I thought that might be your reason for asking. But just because a person doesn't list their owner's name, or owner does not list their property's name does not necessarily mean that either is hiding something, or being dishonest in some way. People have many reasons for not naming names. When I was subbing and I was under consideration, I never stated anything about it one way or other on my profile...it just was not an issue. I knew I was being considered, he knew it and we behaved honorably toward one another...But I didn't feel a need to announce anything to anyone. Later on when that connection failed, I simply went on with my life and he with his. Had it progressed to the point of true ownership, I suspect I would either have posted that I was owned/collared or I would have simply deleted my profile.

Yeah, I'm with the others, simply because one doesn't post the name of their sig other doesn't mean they have something to hide or are lying about being owned or otherwise attached.  You don't see my husband's name plastered all over the place but you do see Robert's.  Why?  because that's the way I want it.  No more no less.

What i don't understand is when the sub DOES mention the Dom's name and how much she loves and adores him, so you look up the Dom's profile, there is not even a mention of a sub any place in his profile....

One reason is to contact other dom's who actually have living breathing bottom's (to cover all types). I like to meet those who are living this lifestyle.
