i must admit that i too love the after pain! i just love to touch my bruises - especially on my neck - as a reminder of my Masters touch. And there is nothing better than trying to sit through a business meeting with a red raw behind!!

I touch all the sore spots with a loving finger and smile at the memory of how they got there.

Aloe vera on the welts; witch hazel (Tucks pads) on the pussy; a towel-wrapped ice pack on the nipples; BIG hugs from the Dom....all go a long way toward recovery.

....a warm bath afterwards is delightful, but i generally love and try to extend the after-pain though sometimes it gets touchy with sensitve nipples under a tight dress shirt.....

i absolutely ADORE the pain and bruises i wear them proudly they make me feel closer to Master when we are not together. missing them both when they are not present!

to me the pain after a scen is not pain and a few days latter if it is stil there it is not pain the day it goes away is the day it is pain for me becouse it is not there anymore to remind me off my place :)

Then again what you consider intense might be what others just see as normal after pain and outside of a scene you have no toleration at al for any pain? Hard to say not knowing you or what was actually done etc. i would say discuss it with him and see what he has to say.

I agree that if the after pain is so intense as to negatively effect your daily life (more than just some aches and bruises, which I also agree, I love), then you need to express that to your Master. He should be aware that he is possibly doing some damage.

Personally, I have a rotator cuff injury thing right now and am very careful in any situation (be it work or otherwise). I make sure to ice it, take ibuprofen (or whatever over the counter medication works best for you). Ibuprofen (generic for Advil) is an anti-inflammatory and will help with bruising and such as well as pain. Icing should help with joint pain and heat with muscle pain. I do twenty minutes on, twenty minutes off.

Someone else mentioned epsom salt, in a nice hot bath, great stuff!

I'm curious about Arnica...I think I'll go google it!
