I had an account on  AFF but dropped it as others mentioned more geared to sex I also have a free account on ALT  in which I have met a few really nice  people and have no problems  recieving or replying to emails, I do like the fact that they offer the option to do very detailed profiles, if a person omits info in the basic profile  such as marital status it becomes easy to assume that person is married, I also find many do include what they are searching for as in fun , LTR;s etc , if they are serious about bdsm they tend to go thru the process of filling out the fet activity check list, most that are not do not.  I do feel they charge way too high a membership fees for the quality of their services, their IM is horrible but does allow the use of cams and photo sharing, strangelyy enough there the people are less likely to ask earlier on to switch to yahoo or msn messenger chats and will struggle thru a few   IM chats there to get to know if interests are similiar or if there is at least interest from both parties before requesting Yahoo or msn  ids and taking the chats to those messengers , compared to here where the chatting is very stable. 
Like any community whether online or as in cities the larger the community grows the more corruption will invade it, over time as CM becomes more popular the same will happen here

i have tried the "free membership", free to recieve and reply to other messages. After probably 3 months i could not even contact or add them to my "hot" list anymore without paying for a bronze membership. Which then would only allow certain features. To me it's not worth it.

I love Alt and actually still do ......I am looking for a spcific niche at the moment...local, servile, sub femmes whether or not they are looked after by a Dom....have had sincerely wonderful replies on there, never paid a penny. I also STILL have long term friends with those I met on Alt many years ago and although the layout and the rules have changed time and time again I have still never paid a penny.

The chat rooms are fast and frenetic.

I met my husband on alt but We havn't met or chatted with enough people to justify paying as much as they want.  Webcams and some of the local groups are cool but that's free.

I met Master on alt.com. We have been very happy together. I find that there are fakes on both sites. It is what you make of it.

It's an alright site.  I've been on there for a bit and honestly I think I'll keep using it.  But I doubt I'll ever pay for any of it, the fees seems way, way too high for what you get.

First and still strongest impression of the site, though, is that there are way too many pictures of penises for profile pics.  Viewing a list of profiles and at least half are just random shots of dick.

what u get here is the same as u get on ALT but i do think the people are better this is my first ever post here but i read through it a lot .. what i dont get is how u can get such a good service here for free and they charge for a service which sometimes can not be as great if i had to choose which one to stay with i would pick here and thats nothing to do with money!

I turned off the option to view erotic pics, so now I don't have to see them.  I really don't care about seeing a man's cock until that time when we are playing.  Jeesh.  And even then, it's not all about cock size for me.. I have a profile on both alt and collarme.
Alt has the chatrooms like the norcal chatroom which is better than collarme.
Collarme has the discussion board which is better than alt.
Alt has zillions of people which is more than collarme.
Collarme has select people and better photos which is better than alt.

So, it's alt for chat and collarme for discussions.

My problem with Alt is that its a SEX site, not a lifestyle site.  The grand majority of those there havent a clue about anything past bedroom play.  Thats fine, if thats what you want.  It isnt what I am looking for, and so I stopped going.  Besides, when someone thinks that the best marketable thing they have going for them is a picture of an erect penis, I find it hard to take an interest.
Since I am not looking to get laid, Alt does nothing for me anymore.
