I don't expect this to potentially go anywhere.  I've been out here for awhile and these subs never write back....Fuck!!!!....lol.

Okay...Topic at hand...I've been out here awhile and I was wondering whether there is loathing when it comes to Doms/Dommes and their relationships or feelings towards women/men?

Are there women and men haters out there that have brought them into this arena?  What a better place to go shopping for someone that might allow you to actually physically harm or engage in various types of degradation 
and thereby filling a need to damage the "person" that you despise.

This is not all that of an easy topic...It came about after a discussion with a Dom woman who made that observation about her counterparts and it is something that I have always questioned after hearing so many accounts from male and female subs alike.

As I type this I realize I'm playing into the hands of those who think that everyone who participates in this is inherently fucked up....Tough titties.....Any thoughts?

It certainly exists.  Dominants use "being the dom" as a shield to hide behind a lot of things, including anger. 

But I don't think it really leads to healthy dynamics.

Makes a lot of sense.  There seems to be so many reasons why doms and subs enter this arena.  Yours is as good as any.  I suppose there's also those self haters that enter for totally fucked up reasons...but as LA said, makes for pretty unhealthy dynamic.

btw..You should be getting tons of replies now.  I noticed you're using the "domly" exclamation points.

I agree. I've seen people that are angry, getting even for every girl/guy they didn't date in highschool, man-haters and mysogonists.

There's one guy here in San Diego who is just flat out an asshole to anyone female (including Dommes) and hides it behind a "Dominant" label. What's even funnier is the number of subs that are in awe of him calling him "strict" and a "hardcore sadist". Every interaction that I've seen him engaged in with a female (including with me) he is amazingly rude.

I do think we are all attracted to this for different reasons.  I do get an "i hate you" sense  from some of the men I've spoken too.  I tend to not call them back. [:)]  I don't hate me, why on earth would I want a man in my life who did?

There are abusive people in all walks of life. We are no different. We just get sensationalized when an abuser shows up 'cause people just nod and smile and say, "See? I told you it was dangerous!" Well, so is going to bars, riding on buses and walking through the park.

Edited to add: I have a front plate on my car (we only have rear in my state) that says, "Guys are great. Every girl should own one." *chuckle*

I don't play from a basis of hating or disgruntled.

However if I were to say that NONE of the fucked up institutional gender dynamic EVER fuels anything I find hot, that's a huge ol' lie. And I think anyone, male female or trans, who claims to be completely free of resentment, stereotyping, or hangup is not checking themselves adequately.

Those hangups make for some really hot, though totally un-PC moments. If I want to kick my slave in the nuts "because he's a wealthy boomer scumbag" and he is forced to cop to that little bit of reality and it makes him excited, it's all good.

I feel a lot of that when I read through the Ask A Mistress forum. There are a few that genuinely come across as hating men and using that in the manner you mention.

Obviously I'm not going to go into detail, but I do see it occasionally and I always wonder if the male 's' enjoys that extra bit of humiliation.

I have met a few who I had to wonder about...and a couple of people I confronted about it.  One femdominant admitted that she did not think much of men and that was one of her bigger reasons for enjoying humiliation of them as much as she enjoyed beating them.  Their service to her was a minor point of concern except in how it resulted in failure which led her to more chances to beat and humiliate.  She did pretty well in picking submissives who were into this but even they, after awhile, realized it was not part of the "game" for her but a reflection of her feelings towards men.

I’ve often wondered this of the sadists whom still wish to consider owning me after I tell them I am not a masochist. One said something about seeing a woman’s tears doing something for him; I don’t get it. Then again, I’ve yet to understand my ex-husbands philosophy of “It’s so beautiful, I must kill it”, when it comes to hunting. *shrugs*

I think this note stream will take off, domiguy.

Yes there certainly are those deranged or totally insecure types claiming to be dom women or men who may be using "getting even with xxx " as motivation, but of course there also are those submissives with no self esteem who feel they deserve nothing better than total abuse and disregard and seek this.

Unfortunately it seems often either of the above does not find their nature partner in the other group above, but instead takes it upon themself to bond with newbie doms or sub, who then get a very warped idea of what the BD/SM scene is, and who may be quite damaged by this negative connection.

One might think that the subs might be most at risk here, but in fact newbie dominants have certainly been scared right out of BD/SM by stuff like this.

One reason I always try to persuade new folks to become members of discussion and social groups in their areas is because having a network of friends and sharing thoughts with them can help someone to understand the multitude of choices we really do have.

I can remember some traumas in my life that drove me away from the scene for quite some time.
