you shouldn't be demonizing anyone or anything...unless your God...are we special enough to have God on our message boards?

i don't care if you want to use something till you turn blue with green polkadots, don't involve me in it...and to appease the liberal cry babies, don't involve people who don't consent in it...

Actualy bringing it to a club will get you kicked out of most of them (permenantly) on the first offence.

That's mostly because of the illegality and social pressure.  MOST public kinky places don't allow sexual intercourse of any form either and will get you kicked out.

I have reached the conclusion that we just might have God or maybe a lesser God possibly only a prophet in our midst (Domiguy sighs...a bit dejected at the thought of only being a prophet)

Something amazing has happened....Will get back as details I'm sure will materialize as to my standing within this universe.....It all began in the thread...
"When I send a email to someone and it says deleted unread what does that mean?"

That is where God sent me a sign....My words should be heard and abided by.....I might just be the second coming of  your Lord and Savior....I don't speak of such things to brag or boast....It simply is something that is....And I have accepted it as well as the consequences that are in store for me.

Carry on my little people...Sorry for the hijack

I wouldnt play with someone who was under the influence of anything but if others choose to do so knowingly then that is there right.

and off topic but I agree with LA about the whole parents having time out to be grown ups stuff

I don't drink or smoke pot. I'm not upset with submissives who do, providing we've negotiated a play scenario when she was doing neither.

I'm a tad upset at the more politicized straightlaces in the "Scene" who don't want to do things and don't want anybody else doing what they do not do.

But what do you say about subspace and top space? Those extreme psychological states are definitely not those of Mr. and Mrs. America in Kansas.

In fact, a masochist heavily into enforphinism is probably more blitzed on those substances than one who has inhaled a bit of heroin. Does this mean that heroin is therefore OK in scenes or that heavy masochism is not?

is there no differenece between natural brain chemicals and artifically added substances attempting to reproduce said natural brain chemicals with no regard for the "normal" process of procuring them?

there is a massive difference. natural chemicals such of as endorphines respond to what the body needs kinda like a automated messuring system. it knows the right of mount of things even when sick. external chemicals if not done correctly mess with this automated system it is why there is a problem with steriods and such..

I must ask; who are these weak and sad "dominants" who must resort to drug and alcohol abuse?

They are weak - they should be slaves and not call themselves dominants.

I would be the first to defend your right to do as you wish.  But I (and others) have the freedom to associate, or not, with those of my choosing.

Every action has consequences, that's the nature of responsibility.  And one of the consequences of choosing to use drugs when you scene is that many (most?) people and groups will choose not to associate with you at those times.

I believe it depends on the ppl involved and the situation. And it depends on what under the influnce intails. If to some that means any type of alcohol or drug. Than I would have to say that I play under the influence quite often. Andy and I are very into import beers and local winerys. And have a glass of wine or a beer together quite frequently. And we have played when we had a buzz. We have been together long enough to know whats exceptable and whats not. And in 5 yrs no lines have ever been crossed nothing horrific has ever even came close to happening. However we do refrain from the more hardcore activities. I actually find it quite enjoyable to have a couple drinks and play since both inhabitions are lower. However as far as being trashed, we've never played like that. And honestly I don't understand how anyone could kinky or not. If you are having trouble controling your body, I don't see how you could manage a hump lol.

However as far as drugs I think it really depends on the drug. We had a very experimental time together before we became parents. And there are plenty of drugs that highten your awareness vs imparing it.
Basically if the parties involved are consenting adults then whatever floats their boats.

I just don't enjoy the level of intoxication that comes from more than 1 or 2 cocktails/wine/beers,  (although i do drink frequently)  and i generally don't hang out intimately or casually with people who drink to excess or do hardcore drugs.

So inebriation during play is a non issue for me.

What happened to TOLERANCE? You know...the abstract concept which allows you to take a whip to anothers back, pee in someones mouth, WHATEVER YOU LIKE TO DO and associate with other like-minded individuals.

It may just be opinion, but if people banned what they did not like, ds, sm, bd, and this site would be illeaglized by the majority much faster than alchohol and other chemicals. Don't bite the liberal hand that feeds you, or just judge not lest you be judged, I guess.

Of course full blown intoxication does not mix with issues of trust and physical limits. But this thread is starting to sound sanctimounious. A fine wine is no less dangerous or addictive than crack cocaine or intrusive puritian values; its up to the user to either control their intake or be controlled by it.

Nobody is forcing you to go to events or play parties which serve alchohol or where people are otherwise doing what you don't like.

If your partner doesnt respect your feelings about either substance use or sobriety, you should probably find a partner who respects you more anyway.

Socially and historically, the only regulation that works is individual discretion

i guess i want to sleep better knowing that someone is not going to be  hurt or even die because someone was not responsible enough to say no. so i would rather cause a fuse and say we do not want it nor tolerate it..and work with the groups that support anti drug and drinking and give them  my money and my time and anything else I can help them with to grow power in numbers yep yep :)

       Just a general reply.

This whole topic strikes me as kind of a 'well, Duh!'  If it is margarita night, the keys get hung up and most S/M leaves the equation, but would somebody, just once, explain why two staggering drunks can't get into all sorts of freaky, humiliating and EXTREMELY kinky, D/s play?

Not everybody is a pandora's box of 'hidden issues' waiting to escape.  Drunk scenes can be an awful lot of fun, and are a great way to learn about your partner.
