So you are arguing that the second amendmant does not refer to Firearms, just the other kinds of arms? You say the founders were very carefull in the language they used. I agree... Go look up the defintion of "arms" ... Arms \Arms\, n. pl. [OE. armes, F. arme, pl. armes, fr. L. arma, pl., arms, orig. fittings, akin to armus shoulder, and E. arm. See Arm, n.] 1. Instruments or weapons of offense or defense. or----arm 2 play_w("A0425900") (ärm) n. 1. A weapon, especially a firearm: troops bearing arms; ICBMs, bombs, and other nuclear arms.2. A branch of a military force: infantry, armor, and other combat arms.3. arms a. Warfare: a call to arms against the invaders. Guns, and firearms (which are just a subcatagory of Arms) are absolutly covered by the term used by the founders---Arms. If the Founders intended to seperate and not cover different catagories of Arms, they would have, but they didn't. Remeber they were very carefull in thier choice of language. Plus they historically did not ban the right to own guns, so it seems silly to conclude that is what they intended. What exactly do you think the 2nd amendmant means?
