I suppose it took from 2005 til now to find a lawyer that would actually take the case. I wonder how many people encouraged them to sue as well.  Countersuits for greed and prison for greedy lawyers might slow this type of thing down...oh that's right the lawyers manipulate...I mean interpret the laws.

OMG, McDonald's always puts salt on my fries when i tell them not to...think i should sue? LOL

Eating unsalted fries should be illegal to begin with.

RPutnamJr -> RE: McDonalds sued for $10 mil for not holding the cheese (8/11/2007 8:43:01 PM)

Can I sue when they put ice in my drink when I say no ice?

It should be worth a million or two per cube if you ask me.

kittinSol -> RE: McDonalds sued for $10 mil for not holding the cheese (8/11/2007 8:44:04 PM)

It's pathetic. The culture of litigation.

RPutnamJr -> RE: McDonalds sued for $10 mil for not holding the cheese (8/11/2007 8:46:03 PM)

I think suing for my cube idea is a good idea...after all each cube is a potentical choking hazard that could lead to death.

michaelOfGeorgia -> RE: McDonalds sued for $10 mil for not holding the cheese (8/11/2007 8:46:48 PM)

ok, let's talley up here:

a million for salt on the fries
a million for ice in drinks
a couple of million for pain and suffering
and five million for good measure.

are we ready to call an attorney now?

michaelOfGeorgia -> RE: McDonalds sued for $10 mil for not holding the cheese (8/11/2007 8:59:42 PM)

LATEXBABY64 -> RE: McDonalds sued for $10 mil for not holding the cheese (8/11/2007 9:01:20 PM)

they need to pass a law that says you can not sue for your own stupidity.. now the woman that was crushed in the tunnel the company had sold knowing something that could faill that is a valid lawsuit money scammers beware companies will get fed up and start pushing for new laws to protect against human stupidity like i am sorry your a fat ass did self control come into play. Life is dangerous but only if you do not use common sense

KMsAngel -> RE: McDonalds sued for $10 mil for not holding the cheese (8/11/2007 9:13:53 PM)

haven't gone thru all the posts, sorry if its been addressed before. but has no one thought that the other two people would likely have ordered burgers to go as well, and DIDN'T check to make sure they had his? along the lines of taking responsibility for your own self, i suppose.

McDonald's representatives offered to pay half of Jeromy's medical bills -- which totaled about $700.

i'm sorry... it states that he was "near death"... if you are at the ER and you are "near death" your medical bill isn't going to be a lousy $700.  Try in the thousands of $$$$.  Greedy losers...

"By my count, he took at least five independent steps to make sure that thing had no cheese on it," Houston said. "And it did and almost cost him his life."

Was this commented on earlier... The SIXTH step would have been to open the bun and use the Mk I Eyeball to VISUALLY VERIFY the absence of cheese.

( And don't they label the QP & Royale w/ fromage differently with different colored boxes? Been a long time since I've had one... )

 michaelOfGeorgia,

Onion girl is:

GhitaAmati, she's allergic to onions.

If we are going to start suing for personal stupidity then we need to make sure we have all the proper plantiffs in the case represented properly...michaelOfGeorgia...your fired...as Donanld would say.

Yeash its hard to get good competent help when suing frivolously nowdays.

UtopianRanger -> RE: McDonalds sued for $10 mil for not holding the cheese (8/11/2007 10:27:11 PM)

It looks to me like a piece of shit suit with no merit, brought on by opportunistic folks hoping to cash-in big.

If a person has a medical condition that severe, that volatile, that a ''bite of cheese'' could make them violently ill, they have no business eating at a fast food establishment --- that's typically ''manned'' by retards and illegal aliens--- in the first place.

It's my belief that a potential customer of one these establishments can have no reasonable expectation whatsoever in attaining nuanced menu choices to hundred percent of their liking.

Zensee -> RE: McDonalds sued for $10 mil for not holding the cheese (8/12/2007 1:11:46 AM)

Perhaps we can cobble together a class actions suit for dissatisfaction in general. Then we can sue the pants off them - http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/25/AR2007062500443.html

As for alergies - I live on the west coast, love sushi and last year suddenly became allergic to salmon! argh - shoot me now indeed...

Maybe that's not a good thing to say around some in this crowd.

They play a large part in making the laws too. so its not likely they will disadvantage themselves....is it ?

When I was a Judge at the Old Bailey many is the time I would have ordered a defence lawyer in a hopeless case to be flogged. I searched in vain for a relevent statute.
For example, a defendant claiming not to know he was holding a sledge hammer when he "pushed" an attacker, half his size , away so he, the defendant in the case, could make a getaway from the shop he just happened to be robbing.

Sinergy -> RE: McDonalds sued for $10 mil for not holding the cheese (8/12/2007 7:12:15 AM)

I suspect what they are trying to do is get McDonalds to give them a large amount of money to go away.

I doubt this will ever see the light of day in court, especially after their hot coffee loss.

What they are working out is the amount of money, I imagine.
