I'll confess I've turned down people who just had baggage from their families than I could deal with. I figured they were better off finding someone who could deal with it than having me pretend I could.

granted we all have some baggage--call it parental brainwashing, call it childhood acculturation --- but in terms of anecodotal evidence with girlfriends, the ones a few years older than me were always more guarded and less trusting and a little more neurotic---the ones 5-10 years younger, often it was their first D/s relationship and becuase they werent so guarded it was all the sweeter ---maybe Im confusing naivete with trust ---but the relationships were much happier with the younger girls

There are certain 'young' people who can learn to be an astrornaut. Perhaps one day, NASA will find a 14 year old who has the mental capacity, maturity, and life experience to go into space. Education, going to school to learn something/a trade, whatever, is not the same as life experience. I am, at 21, more mature than some people 10-15-20 years older than I am that I've come into contact with them. It just means I've had more life experience than them. Don't discount people because of their age.

it just depends upon what areas we put you in a different country or even change your enviroment through some tragic event or even a major that will be the true test for example having a child and caring for said child life changing event

But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years. Litleone is correct, Latex. That's exactly how it happened with me. Lost all the men in my family in a one month period when I was ten. That sort of thing forces you to grow up much faster than those who lack that experience. Age is only about how many times you go around the sun. It has nothing to do with what you learn along the way. Closed-minded people learn nothing, no matter how old they get. As for astronauts and CIA agents, you are speaking of knowledge, not wisdom.

Sorry to disagree, but not all young subs have hard bodies and plenty of us older ones do. And, yes, I've hard children, even a c section, no stretch marks here. I'll be the first one to say that physical attraction is important; however, physical attraction has little to do with age. It's in the eye and mind of the beholder. As far as baggage goes? Well, deep, I don't know who you've been talking to, but I don't believe I have a lot. Sure, like everyone else, I have some (we ALL do) but I try and leave as much of it behind with a "failed" relationship as I can.
