Yep and quite fun to play with! Real cool to catch insects and stick them on the web and watch the spider attacking the trapped insect!

If you read that you know that the spider  or spiders who spun that web saved the tourists from being having their blood sucked by eating thousands of mosquitoes.

Spiders are good!

That was a great article!

And even the biggest, meanest, deadliest spider in the world is beautiful.... behind plexiglass.. LOL  Just because I love spiders doesn't mean I necessarily want one that can kill Me crawling all over me... lol

I'm not a spider fan.  However lately I have been in a certain sense of awe with them.
They have been eating those lady bugs that aren't exactly lady bugs.  Some sort of japanese/chinese beetle.
Looks just like a lady bug but it bites big time.

These fellas fascinate me http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recluse_spider I think it's the arrangement of their eyes and their method for killing their prey.

Something I haven't quite figured out - larger garden spiders have me running, yet much larger spiders, such as tarantulas, I'm intrigued by and was lucky enough to get to hold one for a while.

I had no true issues with spiders until I was in the service and did some different survival training courses. In one of the courses, they show a SAS patrol in Aussie that was being lead by a bushman, it was in black and white and appeared to have been orginally filmed on like 8mm but we were watching it on VHS at the time. Anyway, they are crusing thru some bush when the bushman lets out a hollar and cuts in forearm willfully with his knife. This guy then takes about 2-3 steps and proceeds to die. I honestly dont recall what spider they said it was that had bitten him, but it was indeed some outback kill you sooner then later type and at that point I was like Ugh. along with about 95% of the courses attendees. Snakes? geez, running from some form or the other during breeding season in Panama while on a rotation down there set me into thinking the legless ones and I were not intended to be friends. Also, if you think about the Snake and the apple,
