Having read the OP and a few other postings in the thread you know all this is perfectly understandable. It's been something that the vast majority of people in society have been working towards for so many years. So why is it all that surprising and such a discovery now? It's a game, just a game and the name of the game is Everything For Profit (otherwise known as the Game of Exploitation). The main players are of course the CEO's, the Employers, politicians, the Government, the media and such. And we - that is you, me, and most other people reading this, including those who are self-employed, small businesses, and such - we are just the playing pieces in the game, nothing more. Only this isn't like a normal game. You see among the players there's no competition, they don't play against each other, but for each other, so there are only winners. The real competition is among the playing pieces, that means you, me and most other people reading this, only there's no winners among us, we're only competing among ourselves, and eventually we will lose and be removed from the game. This is what this game is all about - exploitation and being exploited. You see the biggest fear that most of us have in society today is fear of ourselves, fear of who we really are, and fear of our lives and what our lives are made up of. We are afraid to be ourselves, because we are afraid to be different, to say what we really think and really feel, because we are so afraid of losing what we have in our lives, we are afraid of being perceived to be different, of standing out from the crowd, because if you do you stand to lose and be removed from the game. And you can be removed from the game oh so very easily because all it takes is for you to cease to be perceived as being socially acceptable. And if you cease to be socially acceptable it is not guaranteed that you will find your way back into the game. And it is the players and not us, the playing pieces, who decide the rules of the game, and who decide who takes part in the game and who doesn't. And they have decided that to be part of the game you must be socially acceptable, and to be socially acceptable you must be safe and not pose any sort of threat to the players, to be socially acceptable you must be profitable, you must have an income and spending power, you must look like everyone else, you must think and act like everyone else, you must be photoimage perfect or as close as is possible for your physique, your age and your nationality, you must show that you are stable, and you must also show that you have the right attitudes to keep those who are not socially acceptable in their place and out of the game. And yet you play your part as a playing piece in the game, you block out as much as possible the reality and truth around you - the futility of competing with the rest of society, with fitting in, coping with the stress of playing the game, and you play your part as a playing piece in the game, being profitable. And being profitable means being professional, working, and spending much of your life working, like a slave, trying to make as much money as possible, and - because to win points in the game you must also show that you have real spending power - trying to get away with paying as little tax, insurance or payments for neceesary services in society which can be used by other people, all so that you can take up your rightful place at the end of the week or month and blow your earnings in the shopping mall or pay your bills, settle your credit card bills, pay off your bank loans, debts, mortgages and all the other things the players persuaded you to have to keep you in the game. And do you know? This is why so many people in society nowadays are angry, resentful, deceitful, because so much of this is all bullshit, it's all superficial, for show, all this posturing and bigging it in front of your colleagues, friends and neighbours, all the bullshit, the fakeness, the superficiality where you gloss over the reality of yourself and your lives, because you either don't have the time, or the courage, or even the energy or effort to face up to such things. Even thinking about it makes you feel uncomfortable. Why do you think people drink so much and take drugs? Ever wonder why there's so many liars and fakes and people just seeking a cheap thrill in the BDSM community? The '24/7 Master and slave' couples who are just like any other vanilla couple only they get down to D/s maybe once or twice a month when they have the time or the energy, but the 24/7 is true, for they may be 24/7 in their heads for all we know. The 'lifestyle couples' who spend one weekend at a munch or fetish fair, all dolled up in their gear, and maybe a bit more if they have the time. But you know the BDSM community is part of society, and is just a reflection of society, and therefore is no better and no worse than what you find in 'vanilla' or mainstream society. The OP claims to know that she knows why people are unemployed.. but does she? Does she really understand? Does she really know when she assumes that they are all incompetent and lazy? But it's not her fault, it's what she's been conditioned to think, to believe, and she has to believe and think that way for her own survival, just to stay in the game. Take a look at her interview questions... nothing to do with the job she wanted the candidates to do, nothing to do with their experience for the job, none of the questions gave me any indication that the job was to do with catering or working in a bakery. No. They were like questions in a pretty good oral examination to work out whether someone is a socially acceptable member of society and a model employee, to ensure that she was hiring someone who was still in the game, still socially acceptable, like her, and probably no doubt like everyone else at the bakery. Only people weren't prepared to play the game with her. And what has this game achieved so far? Has it really improved our lives? How come then we appear to be producing a generation in which there are so many retards and idiots? Young people who have difficulty communicating with others in their native language, let alone in any other language? But this is the younger generation who have been deprived, and we have deprived them of the necessary, fundamental things which they need to be adequately functioning young adults - the deprivation comes from education cutbacks caused by people in the game not wanting to pay to educate other people's kids. It comes from people starting families but not being able to abandon their careers, from a generation of working mothers oblivious to the fact that their increased opportunities as career women is only possible through the exploitation and enslavement of another woman and the denial of her right to make a career for herself. It comes from working mothers who saw their position and their career as more important than their role as a mother, the same goes for her husband, where they genuinely believed that their children will be able to develop and grow up just as well despite their parental contact being substituted in many cases by the young foreign au pair girl, the young foreign nanny, women who lack the basic language skills, cultural awareness and life experience that a child needs. We left the kids alone with their xBoxes, their computers, Nintendo Gameboys, videos, DVDs, and now we wonder why we have a young generation who crave constant attention and entertainment who find it extremely difficult to form any sort of lasting emotional relationship. This is why in many cases the friend with benefits has replaced the girlfriend and boyfriend, and the fuck buddy the fiancee. The younger generation are not that stupid, they know that their careers will prevent them making any serious commitment, and also any serious commitment could end up in divorce and jeopardise their status as being socially acceptable. Instead of protesting and rebelling and learning to think and form opinions like former young generations, young people today realise they walk a knife edge to remain socially acceptable, and they follow meekly like sheep and do what they can not to rock the boat. And then we have the socially unacceptable, the people that all those associated with the game hate because they cost everyone else money and make it so harder for the rest of us to be socially acceptable. We blame them for draining our resources, for costing us money, we call them lazy, dysfunctional, we perceive them to have a better life than we do, to not make the effort, we avoid them and shun them and do our best to prevent the ones who are still trying to get back in the game to do so. We do whatever we can to prevent them from getting back into work, and this popular misconception that they are lazy only serves to cause employers to hire a migrant worker. That is until the day comes when we least expect it, and we are told to tidy up our desks, pack up our belongings and leave the building, never to come back - it's GAME OVER - and we are removed from the game, forced to go through the abject terror and fears we were put through fearing poverty and unemployment, only to realise that we were being lied to all along and that we're not going to die through being on welfare, even though we lose so much, we lose our friends and the others who we thought were our friends but who it appears were never really on our side to begin with. We try to get back in the game, but it isn't easy and we realise that we are not lazy just because we're unemployed and on welfare but that the employment is genuinely far more competitive than it once was and along with all the other people we are also competing with migrant workers from other countries who appear not to carry the same social stigma as we have for being unemployed and on welfare. And yes, we have the migrant workers who know that by their very presence in our country they have to fit in and so it's no big deal for them to fit in just that little bit more and be socially acceptable. And these people are both despised by many of the indigent working population but popular among employers because they are perceived to be a safe bet to be socially acceptable, they are not seen to be sitting on welfare and lazy and they appear to work hard and despite the mixed fortunes and often having to accept worse conditions and lower pay than the indigent working population they don't have too many problems with finding work. But it's not just whether you are professional or not which can threaten your status as being socially acceptable or not, but anything about you which can place you in some sort of minority group which can leave you open to an attack from other people for being not so socially acceptable and which can be used to motivate you through fear and making you feel inferior. And you leave yourself open to attack and threat of being removed from the game if you are perceived to be fat, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, too old, not physically attractive enough, disabled, chronically ill, and in some cases even having family commitments. It's not because people are more cruel than they were before, and it's not because we have all become fascists and neo-nazis (well, some people have, but these are generally rather clueless types who are generally confused as to what is their mouth and what is their arsehole and where their brain actually exists) but something else. It is because the players in the game want you to feel inferior and to let people perceive you as inferior so they can vent their own frustrations and insecurities through not being allowed to be themselves on you. They are angry and jealous that you are not making the same amount of effort as they are to be socially acceptable and photoimage perfect and it just makes them feel better to put you down and attack you. I know that there may be a lot of people out there who don't agree with me - okay, no probs, this is a public forum, this is one of just over a hundred postings, I'm just giving my two cents. But I want to ask a question too. Or maybe a couple. I want to ask these questions to the OP and to the others who think likewise. I want to know what you personally are getting out of playing this game. Does it give you any real and lasting happiness or satisfaction? Does it bring you any fulfilment? Do you really enjoy looking down on people you don't really know? Or have I misjudged you and you too see the complete and utter bullshit that modern society has become? I mean, is it really better now than what it was in the past? In the past? You know, when people had real jobs and not just mickey mouse fancy job titles to disguise their enslavement in the employment market, when people had real friends, real families, when people went out and did real things and real activities. Way back when real music was being produced, along with real films, real television programmes, when people were themselves, when they were individuals, when it was your individuality, your creativity, your talents and your dreams and ambitions which got you the job (and when if you tried to fit in with the crowd you didn't get the job), when you could be unemployed and on welfare and know that it wouldn't last long because you would find another job soon enough, when you could go out and have a good time with people without needing to get stoned out of your mind or drink yourself blind drunk, when you had real feelings, real emotions, real love, real problems and real help. Tell me, is it really better today than it was then?
