I'm new to the IRL aspect of BDSM, but I can say that Gaiaonline and chatting on chatrooms as a young teenager played a big part. That, and as I look back I never liked taking a side or sub role when my friends would play Power Rangers. I was the White or Green Ranger (Season pending) and I was in command.

As a kid being exposed to movies, tv shows, porn magazines and reading articles about domination/spanking all were a great turn on for me.  i was perhaps 11 when it started to sink in that i was "different".  i also had some friends who lived upstairs from me and they were always being punished - beaten with a belt as their father was very strict. i was witness to many and it used to turn me on - only then i didn't really understand what was happening so i felt a lot of shame i suppose. As i got older i became more accepting. 

i didn't know officially about the lifestyle but in my early 20's i dated a dominant man.  He knew nothing about the lifestyle, probably never heard the terms dominant and submissive as they applied to bdsm but he was very controlling and firm. It lasted a year and ended up disasterous - he was what you would call :domineering" and became abusive. That turned me cold for years.  It wasn't till i explored on the internet in my mid thirties that i opened myself up again to experiences again.

I was inspired to investigate the world of BDSM because my step-brother handed me the "Beauty" Series when I was 16.  Now granted, I didn't actively start seeking this until I was in my mid 20's.. I was convinced for that long that it was all fiction and not at all possible to have "for real".

I didn't ever see Jeannie as a submissive at all.  She was a manipulative c*nt if she didn't get her way, with or without magic. A jealous maniac who had no common sense or forethought of any consequence. Thus, how every episode she had to be taught a lesson on how to behave 'human' and reasonable or you fuk up a guys mind and career.  Honestly, she was mere 'drama queen' in every act of magic-induced scene made to endorse a fictional power for herself via disruption her so called Master's preference to be a humble and undisturbed man of his given field of (lame) astro-physics.

Imagine the scoff of Armstrong's wife being so nasty.  

She wasn't passive because she wanted to, she was obligated since he opened the bottle. She even tells her evil sister (played by herself) that she is obligated to serve her Master, she is just lucky that he was handsome, educated and gulps, wise.  Her sister was stuck with old geezers and on the ready to cheat with any man, human or non-mortal as long as they were hot!  Figure it out, her alter ego was no different. 

If you actually thought as a kid or young adult that Jeannie was 'your kind of submissive' it is because you are in need of a gal 'fixing you, or giving some sort of leadership qualities to your life'.

My introduction to BDSM type activities, came from the mens magazines way back in the early 60's.  They were full of stories about germans and japanese tortures. Or a story from someone in the past.  The fact that the women were usually killed never registered with me.

I was very young (low single digit age) when I first became interested in tying people up. Cowboys and Indians was one of my favorite games. I wanted to be spiderman so I could entangle people in my web. About 15, I became interested in seeing what a boy would do for me because he wanted to be with me and I started manipulating them.

i was brought up as a sub.  oh, not so obviously, but mama taught me by word and by deed to wait on the men in the house, that my job was to keep them happy....which i suppose is why i didnt really buck when at age 9 i was raped by a cousin, and when my father started molesting me when i was 12.  they were males, therefore they were "right".

my ex thought it would be humiliating to me to tie me to the bed....then was really unhappy when it turned me on something fierce.  then about 7 years ago i met james, whose first gift to me was a set of wrist restraints, which he used to fasten me to the couch frame and then proceeded to spank me.....
