I have had a harem before and absolutely loved it.  My normal poly household usually consists of the Master, Myself, and two males.  It has become increasingly harder to find men that are willing to share their Mistress (I have noticed) But I haven't given up the hope of having my household again.

Impractical?  Perhaps.

I love the idea.
I'm high maintenance...I need a lot of tending to and taking care of in order for me to be most effective in the world.  With the right boys, it could be done, and can be done. I cannot stand drama, so I'm very choosy about the boys I bring into my world to serve me. There /are/ boys who know how to work together and not be jealous of each other, I've had it several times, and I'm always pleased when I find one. My one boy has been with me for 11 years...and he actually enjoys training other boys to take care of me, and seeing me better taken care of than he would be able to do alone.

More hands make lighter work ;)  AND a happy Mistress.

I have a wonderful idea to fulfill a harem fantasy without the headaches! I volunteer to help arrange a harem of four men!

I will first come up with four names: slave1, slave2, slave3, and slave4. (It would be unwise to seek my advice if you are attempting to name a child unless Child1 Wilson appeals to you). And I will arrange for 4 submissive outfits. Then I will learn 4 different accents and put together four different disguises. You know. Moustache. Beard. Glasses. It will be like that comedy with that guy who pretends to be two twin brothers as he falls in love with two twin sisters.

From what i've read OWK gets mixed reviews from those who have gone there (fantasy that wasn't that good really) however femalesrule.com looks very interesting.

i joined their associated Yahoo group and from the posts i've skimmed through it looks like they're having a problem with recruiting Women into their commune type thing they're trying to build which kinda jives with what is going on in this thread. Mind Y/you I kinda think that works for the numbers with this since there'd only need to be one woman interested for every X numbers of guys.

In general, I don't think the concept of a harem could work if the subs are mainly for intimate purposes, as jealousy would pop up immediately (it's like having two dates at the same time, I had that once and it was not a good idea :-). But if a harem mees a stable of service subs who each perform their tasks I think in theory it could work. The hard part will be of course to keep the boys motivated :-)



There seems to be a division of the idea of a group of men in service into two different camps... One that thinks of it more of a intimate thing and the other more for using the slaves as labour...

A harem implies more of a romantic involvement whereas, at least for me, stable or kennel of men seems to veer into more of a "kennel of working dogs" or a stable of slaves to do work. Although many here do bring up wanting to be monogamous to one sub and, although the fantasy is nice, they wouldn't want to do it. However when it comes to having a stable of actual service slaves there seems to be more women who'd be open to the idea.

Mmmm, cabana boys...

Someone spoke on this alrady, but I too believe that I require more than one sub in my life. I do want the emotional connection with one main one, but I have always known that I would want more than one man in my life. I go out, have my fun and then come home to my partner/sub.

I would think a stable would work fine as long as the guys are totally in tune with the roles they serve. Ive never been in a stable but how would it be different than having two roomates?

My appetites are such that I could really only be satisfied by a group of men-unfortunately many subs seem to want to "own" me as well even though I am very clear from the start-I have NEVER been capable of sexual or emotional monogamy.   If they are the jealous type its their problem not mine, deal or get out, I am not changing anytime soon.  The work would be fine if the boys were worth the effort.

Am coming into this one late...

Ideally, perfect world?  Yes. 
It's not really available in reality, though, at least not my ideal version.

Now, other forms are a possibility for me and I do want them and look forward to them.  It's not unusual for me to have more than one sub or slave in my life, but they all are connected to me in different ways, different types of service, not all knowing each other or interacting, etc.

So, the idea to me is lovely but my idea isn't particularly doable.  I'll just take whatever happinesses and good people life brings me.

Oh! I just read some more.  About the polyandry thing:  Yes, that's very different to me.  That isn't likely something I would have with subs as I'm normally not attracted to them in that way, if at all. 

Marriage-type relationships tend to need to be with equals for me.  I would love to find myself a second husband, one that (obviously for it to work) my spouse loved too.  But that's hard.  We've been together for 10 years now and open to the possibility if the right person came along and they haven't yet, for one reason or another.  Plus, our lifestyle (military family) makes that very difficult with hiding our relationship to some extent and also with the constant moving, if we ever found the right person.

Of course.  Who wouldn't want a harem of beautiful men serving her every whim?  The issue is being able to afford them.

It takes the income of a sultan to support a harem.  Most of us don't have the cash!  [:D]

I adore the concept -- oh, to have my own fiefdom full of obedient, reverent minions! -- but the real-life logistics aren't surmountable at present.

If I were to suddenly become quite wealthy and could build the estate of my dreams, I'd definitely want to bring in a group of service-oriented submissives. But I imagine that finding ones who's emotional needs were compatible with how little emotional and sexual involvement they'd get from me could be a challenge. They'd need to be sexually accessible, but I tend to use submissives like obscene barbies rather than interacting directly with them in a sexual manner. So they'd all need to be either bi or gay. (Although I do also like the idea of tossing an unruly female submissive -- who had complimentary desires -- "to the wolves", making sure she's not actually harmed)

I'd also need a trusted and effective majordomo to help keep them in line -- akin to a butler on a large estate, but perhaps a bit closer. Girl Friday meets Hudson from Upstairs, Downstairs. The fantasy unfolding in my mind at the moment has that position being filled by an strong, elegant and but immensely obedient transgendered switch. One other than my girl, simply because my girl is much more of a beloved partner and pet and not inclined to direct others for more than a short while.


Anyhoo. Yes, it's immensely appealing once renamed and tailored to meet my particular desires, and it would be lovely to be able to have it someday.
